I am currently designing an application form that the user fills to use a room in a specified time. The application is to check if the room specified is available at the time period specified. I am stil wondering how to do this such that there is no clash.

View 4 RepliesBasically I am looking for a means within a asp.net 2.0 (or higher) application, to identify a time zone and UTC offset for a specific location and date. I want to be able to look up the time zone rules using either city & state, Zip, or LAT & LON I have an event database that tracks location, date and time for the events. Times are recorder relative to the event and the records do not currenlty indicate the timezone for the event or whether or not DST is in effect. Recently, I have encountered a situation where I need to link several events across different time zones. What I am looking to do is:
first, record a master event, say for August 13 2012 at 8:PM in New York, NY 10021
Second I need to record a related event in Houston TX.
When I record the related event I want it to automatically populate the date and time relative to its local time time zone rules. To do this it needs to be able to identify the effective timezone and UTC offset for the master event as well as the linked event so that I can calculate the correct date and time to display on the satelite program. As a future update I would probably capture the time zone /utc offsets with each program so that I don't have to recalculate the master record each time I want to add a related event.
So far I have not seen a way from system.timezone or timezoneinfo to be able to look up a timezone and the effective UTC offset of a given date and location.
I need to calculate the location of intersections between multiple date ranges, and the number of overlapping intersections. Then I need to show which date/time ranges overlap each of those intersecting sections. It is slightly more complicated than that so I'll do my best to explain by providing an example. I am working in VB.Net, but C# examples are acceptable as well as I work in both.

I am using this line of code on form load event it is working very fine but i have to problems
1. It replaces the form name and display the date and time but i want to keep both date and time and forms caption separated by some space.
2. When form loads it load the current date and time but the time does not change it should run.

I'm reading about the WPF Navigation Services and I have a general question.At run-time I want to be able to parse an external XML file that has information about an UI (i.e. a series of screens) and then in the code-behind create a WPF Navigation service with multiple Pages. Is it possible to create a new WPF Page at run-time or do they have to be created in Visual Studio first?

i know this code doesn't work as it looks, just loads the location by pixels. this is just a question, hopefully with a working code for a marked answer..so much work to do and so many choices to choose from.
I have a second form that loads when the main form loads. It sits behind the main form, is mainly transparent and does not allow interaction from the User.
Its as if the form is on the desktop, which is what I'm going for.
I set the location of the form to be in the top right hand corner of the desktop. On my PC, which is a 23" monitor, it works and looks great. But when I use my application on a notebook or a smaller screen, the form gets cut off. Why is obvious, because of the screen size differences.
What I want to know is how I might set the form to a more... definitive position. Rather, relative to the size of the screen.
I haven't searched much yet, but maybe there is a way to set the location of the form to a specific location of the desktop, not relative to the size of the screen.
