I've added two forms and it works proberly but suddenly after entering the username and the password, this error occurs "Vshost-clr2.exe has stop working" and gives me two options whether to debug or to close program.

View 2 RepliesI have a problem with the code below as a SQL command string. Note: Using .Net Framework 4.0 in Visual Studio 10 Professional. Database is a Microsoft Access file. The idea is that this SQL command string will update a password within my database. Also note that I have tried the string below with and without the ";" at the end and it does not work either way. The problem is most likely extremely obvious, but I can't seem to find it. I have commented below the code what each part of the String is.
"UPDATE Users SET Password='" & tbx1.Text & "' WHERE Username = '" & sUsername & "';"
' Users is my Table name within the Database.
' Password is the field that I want to edit within the Users table.
' tbx1.Text is where the password is stored within a text box.

Solution was square brackets, Command string now looks like this:

I'm trying to write vb code to verify a password input by a user to known table passwords in access database. The form has a drop down combo box that has userID's that are selectable. I'm trying to get the index number out of the combo box selection and use that to look up what the password should be. With that information i can then compare the stored password with the password typed into the text box below the combo box. All of the examples i've found that direct me show the code in regular Visual Basic. I'm using Visual Basic 2010 with the .net architecture.

I don't think this will be a problem using the rich textbox as it allows for unicode characters and DBCS (please let me know if this is incorrect). My question is, I display this text throughout the app in other controls as well, such as a listbox, label, etc. by acquiring the RTF's Text property (plain text). Are there problems with other controls displaying unicode/DBCS characters? I realize that I may have to toggle the font of the control in question depending on the language (I will allow the user to specify a default font per language).

My freeware program launches 50 freeware programs and provides a guide for PC maintenance and health. As mentioned in another post, my program was reviewed on Sofpedia. One thing the Reviewer criticized was the fact that my program requires the user to install these 50 programs in the default locations (usually C:Program Filesx). View 1 RepliesIn this application I need to allow users to enter a month as integer (1-12) then use integer tryparse to validate that input, that seems to be the easy part. I need two create two functions, one that returns the name of the month and the other returns the number of days in that month. The arrays are supposed to be defined and initialized within the function so that the main program can take the user input and call the two functions, then return the appropriate values as output to labels. I am not sure how to declare the arrays in their appropriate functions and then how to call those functions to retrieve the right value from the function.

For example, database A needs to be checked in every 5 mins and database B needs to be checked every 24 hours.

VB.net seem to place my database file into/userprofile/local settings/apps/2.0/data/random/random/appname/data/ folder.Can I define easier location for my published app. I am also worried that when upgrading this database is ignored or something bad happens?
