I have a custom window form control contained within its own project that is referenced in the solution's main project. I am currently get an error stating: "Could not load type ... because format is invalid." The type in question is actually a structure. I get the general problem in that for some reason the struct can't be obtained from its assembly, but I don't quite understand what is meant by "format is invalid.". I originally had the solution running on a full Win XP machine before transferring to my Win7

I have shared a folder from another server to th eone am running the executable file. [Code]. I receive the error at the highlighted text. Thats the other server where the shared folder can be seen in the server am running the executable file. why I receive that error? The given path's format is not supported.

I am working on a program where a user either enters "small" or "large" and then the number of toppings. Once the user has done that my program outputs the total cost of a pizza based on user input. If they enter something else besides a number in the txtNumberOfToppings I am trying to show they message box that says "Re-Enter a valid number!" Likewise I am trying to display the error message "Re-enter a number that is 0 or greater!" If they enter a negative number into the textbox. However they do not display when I do enter invalid input.

I'm using Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition. I have a Folder Dialog Browser added in my form and I call it when the user presses a button. The folder path string is stored in a string variable and displayed as text in a text box. (maybe I should use a combo box)
My question is: If the user inputs by hand a non existent path, how do I return an error message, stop the file creation into the invalid path, and return to my main form?

I'm getting a "TypeLoadException was unhandled" error. The description says Could not load type 'dnUtilities.OtherFunctions' from assembly 'dnUtilities, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.
So i've got a class library project. I've built that into a dll and am referencing it in a project in another solution. The name is "dnUtilities" and i've stored a lot of subs and functions inside it. I just got this error when i added a new module and tried calling a sub from it. I've got no idea why this error is happening since all the other functions from the other modules work. Besides modules i've also got a usercontrol in the dll. The framework of the dll and my calling project are both 3.5.

Is there any literature which guides a user through the steps of deploying a vb project created with VS 2010 Professional and incorporating SQL 2008RE Database?
I have a VB project which incorporates 2 databases - 1 Access Db and 1 SQL Db. The project compiles and runs beautifully. However, after adding the databases in the project as existing items and deploying, the project opens/runs, but when I try to login the application I keep getting an error message telling me that the path to the .mdb (Access) database is not a valid path. I don't have a clue what else to do.

My goal is to have the user be able to click the row and the row will be the selected row almost like having the select button but the entire row clickable to do the same thingthe error i get popups when i click the row, not when the webpage is loaded

I had a working program a while ago, but now it is giving me an error when I try to insert some data to my Excel-file.I get this error: Old format or invalid type library. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80028018 (TYPE_E_INVDATAREAD)) For example, one of my Excel referencing codes is:

I am trying to open an Excel file using the following commands:
xlsWB = xlsApp.Workbooks.Open(filename, , True)
where 'filename' is the name of the file.However I am getting the following error message:
Message = "Old format or invalid type library. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80028018 (TYPE_E_INVDATAREAD))"
I originally developed an application where I used the above code with default language setting of "English" (under regional and language settings). When I am changing the language setting to "French", the above errror comes up. I am changing the language setting to French in order to simulate an error when this application is run in a French version computer.

I have recently updated a legacy compact framework application to support Windows Mobile 6.5 but after going through my backwards compatability testing I have an issue with the WinCE 5 device.When attempting to run the application from both the EXE and the debugger I get the "An unhandled exception of type 'System.TypeLoadException' occurred in Unknown Module." exception but its not giving me any idea which dll / type it has issue with.The changes do work on the Windows Mobile 6.5 Motorola device and the Pocket PC 2003 Psion Device but not on the WinCE5 Psion device.Does anyone have any ideas how I can find out which reference is causing me the issue. I have tried removing the new references to the Symbol barcoding and imaging libraries but I am still getting the same error.OK, it looks like the .Net Compact Framework installation had corrupted some how. I flattened the device, reinstalled and everything appears to be working.

I have a web service with both SOAP and REST endpoints. I have to accept requests from a client that I do not have any control over on my REST endpoint. Currently the client gets a 400 response and the tracelog on my server shows this error:
The incoming message has an unexpected message format 'Raw'.
The expected message formats for the operation are 'Xml', 'Json'.
I've tried everything I can think of with the WebContentTypeMapper but seem to end up right where I started every time. The request from the client doesn't appear to be well formed XML or JSON so if I try to force XML or JSON types from the WebContentTypeMapper I end up with parser errors.
So I guess I need to find out if I can force this endpoint to accept the message anyway.

I'm writing a program for my algebra students to practice integers.Stuff like....

I want to show an explanation and for the addition and subtraction, I want to show it on a number line. For example, if the problem is 3 - 7, the number line should show and arrow to that goes right to 3, and then left 7 units (starting from 3). Then the student can see that the answer is -4.I could probably do this with some string manipulation, but what would be the easiest way to do it in a picture format? Maybe a bitmap.
