ExpressEdition Does Not Display Categories In Add New Item Window

I can not use Inheritance Picker Dialog windows. Choosing Project in menu bar and then Add New Item, there is Templates frame only and Inherited Form is missing. Categories frame, which should be located on the left side, is missing as well. So i could not choose Windows Forms from Categories Frame on the left and Inherited Form from Templates on the right. Is it possible that Express Edition does not support Inheritance?

the disply color buttons click even procedure shold display the color of the item whose item number is entered. all item numbers contail eactly five characters(12b12). my problem is i can not get it to disply a color in the lblcolor control. it displays the item number.

Is it possible to compare 2 dataitems and then display the result depending on the 2 values using if eval at run time?I have a ListView with databound controls. 1 is RedemptionChoice and the 2 is CashBack.When 1 reads "0" and 2 reads > 0.00 the output should read AUTO I have read many comments online and most point to create a new function within code behind but have found it impossible to implement on my own.I tried this as a test on the actual page:

2 needs to be greater than 0.00 for AUTO to be displayed. Hence I know this would not work. Just trying to give an example of what I would like.

I am working on a inventory application and I have a question, I have created a table for each of the main categories that I will be using, now if I wanted to add sub categories would I create another table for the sub directory and set the type as a child for its corresponding category or would it be easier to keep the main categories and just add another column in each table for "sub category" so it uses the same table but I can just filter it out easier?
If it is a better option for creating parent and child tables, how would I go about listing them in a hierarchical treeview to show parent and child sub-categories in them.

In my propertygrid having 3 categories..By default these categories displayed on Alphabetical order..But i don't want like this..

I want to know what's the right way to work with objects that belong to a category.I'm building an applications with the following layers:Base data access Data access Business logic + Factories Presentation.I want to pass only objects to the presentation layer and back.I have objects (Employees), that belong to a certain category (EmployeeCat). I was wondering if I should have just an EmployeeCatID property in my Employee class/object, or an EmployeeCat property that contains a complete category object.If I want to fill a GridView with a list of employee objects as datasource, and I used just an ID in my Employee objects, then I will have some work at the presentation level to display the category names, so I think. On the other hand, if the list of employees contains plain category objects... I'm not sure what will happen.

Here's the program. there are five categories say a, b, c, d, e, each in a textbox (color blue). There will be a command button say "choose". If i click the choose button, it will randomly choose one category and that corresponding textbox example "a" will change color(color yellow). Then if I want to click the choose button again, the selected category "a" from the first selection will change to gray, then a new category will be randomly chosen without "a" in the list and again will change to color yellow. and so on. So I can click the choose button five times, exhausting the five categories without repeating the category that was already selected.

I have a project that works with a database. It groups al my films per category. I use this code to group everything by category. The categories are chosen in the combobox cboCateogorie.

what I want is the opposite off what I do when I select a category in a combobox. Now I actually select a film and this film also has an ID, namely DvdID and with that I want that the combobox shows the category where the film belongs to.

I have a standard MDIWindowListItem that selects child forms correctly but I really want it to maximise the selected form if it is currently minimised. Can't find any event that triggers when a form name is clicked so I can determine the child form selected.VS2005 or 2008
Update:Fiddling about I did find a collection MenuStrip1.MdiWindowListItem.DropDownItems and one can use .text to get the form caption which I could use if I knew the item selected.

I'm using MySQL 5.5 database. I have created a database which only have one table where it stores all sorts of keywords according to categories.
The users key in sentences in the textbox and then I'm suppose to classify the sentences into the category based on the keywords in the database.
How do I loop through the database to compare the strings in the textbox to the keywords in the db?

Regarding my college project. i'm working on a sales system . i have a form which consist of all the following information( item code , item name , item price , quantity of item ) which is display using a data grid . data input by user using text box and all this information will be stored in a database(sales database) i'm using ms access 2007. the grand total will be displayed in a text box . and amount paid will be input in a text box too , my major problem now is how to i create a reciept that will have all this information of the purcase. i have a reciept button . what the next step ? i dont have any idea how to get the reciept done.

My listview is pulling data from a database and has 2 columns... "Project Name" and "Project ID"I want to be able to double click on an item in the list and have the Project Name appear in textbox1 and Project ID to appear in textbox2... with the code I have I get something strange in the textboxes... I am trying to grab what appears to be text of a label from a different process so I can show what it says in my own program using pre-recorded audio files, basically trying to read the programs text to the user, one of the things im missing is reading a label, it appears to be easy to read the Edit control/textbox you can type into & other things but I cant seem to find out reading this label.

I have a listview setup to act as my main GUI. Kind of like a copy of windows explorer. I'm trying to get it to open individual forms on the double click of each individual icon.

I need to create a program, and now I want some advice from you, as I simply don't have so much experience to get round it.Firstly, I have issue with a checked list box. For example, there will be 5 items.I want each item to have a different value, because it will be a things people will be buying, and so when someone clicks on item1, the value I assigned to it will be output into a label, so user will know how much that item costs. I know how to output it, label1.text = CheckedList Box1.SelectedIndex but how do I set for example for item1 value of 5000, for item2 3500 and etc? Secondly, I will have a page for users, where they will see history of their bought items. But what's the best way to store the price they paid, item they bought and date? It should be able display for each user their own bought item history.I hope you understand what I meant, as I'm quite new in programming so It was a bit hard for me to express what exactly I want. If you didn't understand something, or need more information please ask me. I hope someone will be able to help me, as I really have a bit of a struggle with it. At first I wanted to use plain .txt file to store and output into textboxes, but it wouldn't be aligned, look nice and etc. Then I thought about database, but how to recognize which item to display for each user and etc.

I'm trying to create a application that mimics windows explorer. I have a treeview and a listview. The problem I'm have is when I change from the initial "detail" view to "list" view the items in the list appear truncated. I have tried setting the column width property but it does nothing in "list" view.

I have an application with a SplashScreen. While loading the application, the application will check certain conditions and if the condition fails it throws a message window. I problem is when the message window is thrown it is displayed just behind the splashscreen and user is not able to see the message and unable to understand whats happening while the SplashScreen is displayed as it is till he clicks ok on the message box.
