I have a situation where I am opening a SaveFileDialog box but it opens underneath my form instead of over it. This is causing my users some confusion. Does anyone know of a way to force that dialog box to be topmost at all times?

I have a toolbar that is always on the top (topmost = true) but when i maximize other programs the top of their windows is hidden behind it. I want them to maximize BENEATH my toolbar so i can close/minimize them etc... Like an upside down taskbar, literally changing the screen working area...
View 2 RepliesI have a program that contains a web control and a combo box. The combo box contains a list of servers to log into. When one is selected, it loads in WebBrowser4 web control. User logs in and have a work list to work from. What I am trying to do is program this so once they are in work list and click a link, I want that clicked link to be fired off in a new, IE window, not in the WebBrowser4 web control. I want the web control to maintain the work list page that is already up.

When I open my child form,
frm_Analogs.ShowDialog()
It opens up the new form, but now I can not interact with my main form. It will not accept focus or allow me to interact with it.
Do I need to change the form type?
Is there a way to force a form to be active and shown?
From another form i am doing:
Me.Hide
Form2.Show
When this code is run, the Form2 is minimized.
I've also tried:
Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Normal
in the load event, and it still loaded it in minimized mode.
how can i do that? first form close and second open........i did that but first is only hiding not close

View 2 RepliesAt one point I have a dialog form open, but in order to process it, the user might want to access information on other (open) forms. This would necessitate the ability to move/resize/scroll the other forms, but obviously everything is frozen during the dialog. I don't suppose it's possible to achieve this "semi-modal" state, where other forms can be browsed, but no other actions taken?
View 5 RepliesI have a question that I hope to find a much more simpler solution to.I have two forms in my program which are named Main and Second. The Second form has several textboxs, buttons (some disabled) and comboboxes. When the Second form is opened via the Main form on the very first instance, everything works fine.
However, if I re-open the Second form after previously closing it, the disabled buttons are no longer disabled and the text controls and comboboxes show the previous values entered from the first instance which I do not want. How can I ensure that the Second form will be opened "clean" every time.
Currently I have to add instances to the onload event to do this to ensure that the form is cleared on the second instance.textbox1.text = ""textbox2.text = ""textbox3.text = ""button1.enabled = False

I am having an issues with my code causing my forum to close after an error occurs during a SaveFileDialog. My problem is if the form closes after an error occurs that doesn't save the file, the person would lose their text they made. Everything works from here but what I want it to do is select the item underneath the mouse when i right click. This would make it so i wouldn't have to left click the item then right click to get to the menu.

There is a label running along with the mouse pointer, but every time the cursor moves over the line, the label removes the line under it. I've tried setting transparent background to the label.

When I write it like that, it doesn't sound very efficient, but I've designed it this way for usability.Here's where I have a problem: Should I store the path the user takes in a string, an array, what?
Here's an example:Someone wants baseball stats and trivia. They run my program, main form pops up, they select National League button, the NL Form pops up. Now the way my program is set up right now, is there are two ListBoxes on the form, one is populated, and as the user selects a Team from ListBox1, it jumps to ListBox2. Once they've selected all the teams they want info for, they click a button Next.
What I now need the program to do is show the next form "Team: name" once for each team, and insert the name of the team on the form in the appropriate label which I'll have blank. This form will also do the Listbox thing except the first listbox will populated with Topics like HR Stats, Pitching Stats, Coach History, etc.
I have noticed that hwen i set the datetime programmatically on the wpf datepicker the writing "show calendar" does not disappear but remains visible underneath the date passed?is there a way to solve this problem

View 2 RepliesI have two forms frmMain and frmNew, and one module modMain. In modMain I hold public variables which are needed for application. My question is how to open and close those two forms when needed? I ask this because if i set frmMain as startup form, then when closed, application will end, and one of those two forms will always be displayed. Also if I set frmNew as startup form, then when I close this form, application will also end. Is there a way to do this from module or something so my application won't end after closing and opening any of those two forms?
