Forms :: Creating Checkboxes In A Panel That Represent The Seats?

I have a theater seating project. I am creating checkboxes in a panel that represent the seats. Each of the rows has a label on it, giving it a row number.When a user clicks one of the check boxes, I need to be able to determine what row the seat was that they clicked on. I then use the row number to determine the price of the seat. I am stumped!! I can't seem to figure out how to get the row number associated with the seat. Here is my where I am configuring the seats:

When I want to create a new panel at run time when I clicked a radio button it displays an exception at panel2.location.

Question 1: This loop works when the Panel only consists of CheckBoxes. But I would also like to have som TextBoxes in the Panel. When i add a TextBox to the Panel I get the error message:

I am creating a program to manage seats in an auditorium. The person who will be using this program will need to be able to use the program to print tickets, mark seats as broken, or clear a seat.My thoughts have been of using checkboxes and saving the stuff in the My.Settings. There has to be an alternative to putting 450 checkboxes in, Labeling them, naming them, and so on and so forth. I started putting them in the program seen below:And then I remember of course, I need it to be able to do multiple days. So suddenly things get really hard.

But when I run the program the checkboxes only display 2 states (they do work as 3 states). what I am missing to display the "Indeterminate" state?

I have a form that opens another. I want the second form's checkbox to match the first form's after the second has loaded. I tried using MyForm2_Load, MyForm2_Activated and MyForm2_Shown but the checkbox checked state of the second form always changes the checkbox in first form. The code below works if I check the checkbox in either form, the other changes to match it. The problem occurs only when MyForm2 is first loaded. How can I get it to work the way I want it?

All I want to do is build some kind of table-like or grid-like control in my form that has two columns. An element in the first column should be a checkbox that is changable by the user, and an element in the second column is some un-editable text. Of course, when the user checks or unchecks a checkbox, I have to be able to handle that event and figure out which row it came from.I've been trying this all day with no luck. Do I use a ListView or a DataGridView? If the answer is DataGridView, do I add columns and rows to it directly or do I try to make a DataTable which I then assign to the DataGridView's "DataSource" property?Is is possible to make editable checkboxes in a DataTable? I succeeded in making checkboxes by making a DataColumn of type boolean, but then I couldn't check or uncheck them during runtime.

In my program, The user will choose a number from the combo box. And also in my form I have 14 panel. This panels are enable=false. Now my question is, I want to enable this panels somewhat related to the input of the user. I manage to get the formula to HOW MANY PANELS are to be enable in this manner: userinput / 0.5 = panels to be enable.

I am working on a program that has about 20 checkboxes on it. What I want to be able to do is to check the checkboxes and then hit an apply button then at that point whatever is checked/ or if something is unchecked the code for that item is run and those changes are applied. If the box is checked it disables the service if it is unchecked it enables the service.
the code I have so far is this for each service I want turned off i have placed under a button name ApplyEach service is a different registry entry and service name, some are just registry key changes.the code seemed to work at first but that is when I only had one checkbox under the button.
I know I have done something wrong with the program logic here Im just not sure how to fix it as I've only been using VB.net for 2 weeks now... I can't find any reference on the internet to having multiple checkboxes with an apply type button. Just like in a normal windows application where the apply button is used to apply the changes on the form.

I'm trying to use checkboxes to show and close child forms.I'm using MDI. I want to try and make the child form show inside of the parent form like it should.This is the code I was using:

And that works, but if I close the window instead of using the check box and then try to use the checkbox to open the new window again i get an error:Object reference not set to an instance of an object.Also I have more than one checkbox (each one serves a child form) and I would like to be able to open and close any of the child forms at any time.

I'm looking forward to reading and adding more to the community here. I've created a text based rpg. Next semester we are learning Visual Basic. I'm on winter break and I would like to get a head start on my learning. I've been working on creating some forms and message boxes. What is throwing me off, is that I have a good feel for doing coding so that I get functionality the will produce effects in a console. Coding the forms is a bit confusing for me. Is this something that others have run into? Is their some good primers for VB? I don't have my text books yet.

This should probably be a different topic, but the reason I was cutting/pasting is that I have a split panel form. I dock a toolstrip to the top of one panel, and then add a datagridview control. I set it to dock to parent, and it does, but goes under the toolstrip, hiding the top of the grid and scrollbar. Not acceptable of course. Is there a setting that I'm missing?

Is there a way to hide the scroll bars on a VB.Net panel? We have written code to allow the user to scroll using a touch screen and do not need to see the scroll bar. I know it has to be there for the scrolling to work, but would like to hide it from view.

I'm currently trying to make a beat generator, which allows you to add several labels (boxes) onto a panel, and then sound will be played when the "play slider" reaches the same x-value. I am using a textbox which handle the name of the employee and when it get focus i am using a listview with detail view which shows all available employees and user have to select any of them. I am using all this control in a panel, unfortunately listview need more size then panel, and i cannot increase the size of panel. But placing listview inside the panel make its child control and hide the half list view. Is there any way that i can show full list view control under the textbox?

I use drag'n'drop from a datagridview to a panel. The panel holds an array of objects (think rows) so that the items from the datagridview can be dragged to the different objects. I use the y-index from the top of the panel to define what object the item is dragged onto.This works great as long as the object is visible from the start. However, if I scroll down to an object and then drag the item from the dgv, it gets released on the wrong object, as the y-index doesn't take into account the number of pixels I scrolled down. So, what I need is (if it exists) the scroll offset property for the panel, i.e., the number of pixels that I scrolled down. (Then I can add this offset integer to the y coordinate on which the user drops his/her object.)
