Function To Validate 5 Textboxes In Form

Actually I am trying to get a function to validate all the textboxes in my form. At the moment, my code look like:

I have to write the same line of code for each textbox to check if it is not empty and was thinking of using a function that will be called and check each textbox in my form.

How do I validate textboxes so that they accept only numerical input (1 2 3 etc and not abc @$ etc)? Is there some kind of property of the textbox that I have to change?

is there any function to validate if a string has only numerical characters? I can cross character for character and verify if it is a number. But I look for something simpler or if already a function like that exists.
I cannot use IsNumeric or IsDigit because it returns numbers to True with point or comma.

1)This is my code.. (below)what i am trying to do here is to insert username and confirmed password into a sql table called login via a pre created form.I have 1 textbox, 2 Maskedtextboxes and a button.
what i would like is if the passwords do not match in both maskedtextboxes for the system to throw out a message saying passwords do not match please try again..which then clears previous content and requires the user to enter details again. once details are correct and system commits the new user details to the table and throws up a confirmation message.

I need to create a function named isValid to validate some criteria, text length character content. have validated length but i need to validate at least one Uppercase letter and one number is used(minimum) i was thinking of using a loop to check each character individually. thats probablly where i go wrong i, i often convolute the simple and keep heading of track.

Hello,
So I'm trying to create a function that will remove certain characters (defined by me and may be subject to change later) from a string leaving only numbers. Reason-being is I have some textboxes that I format as phone, SSN, and accounts numbers based on string length, and when I click or tab back into the textbox I need to make sure those formatting characters get removed so when I re-exit the textbox the proper formatting takes place. I am able to accomplish it by calling CleanUp(), below,

but the problem I have it this obviously only works for Textbox1, not any textbox I want to apply it to. I want to be able to call CleanUp() from textbox1.gotfocus, textbox2.gotfocus, textbox3.gotfocus, etc... .
I've tried

I have set it up to email me should someone submit this form and an error occur and right now should that occur for most integer or datetime fields if they fail to validate then it will show me which fields in the email failed and what was input into them.
Problem I'm having now is to validate the drop downs and the textboxs in a similar way to what I with integer and datetime fields so I can display those also in the email in case they error.

Summary:- Need vb code to validate if strings and dropdowns are valid and the use of try/catch block is another possible solution but I wasn't able to figure out how to implement validation for that either.

Is there a way to write a single function that will control validating the input to any textbox? How to pass control of it.
E.g.: My second try was to:

Write a function that uses the global textbox and takes in 2 parameters, one determining the length it has to validate and the second telling it what to do once the input is verified

I am working to make a function that will update the back color of a text box based on multiple variables values. I can write the code to do the calculation, but I am not sure how to make the function realize which text box to update (as I will have about 30 different boxes). Below is the code that I have for each box so far, but I will have quite a few more, and would rather use a function to reduce the amount of code, and also make it cleaner as well.

The form has First Name, Last Name, Course and Email text box fields. First/Last Name must have no spaces, Course must consist of a three letters and two numbers in that order and nothing else(I want to avoid the use of masked text box), and Email must have the "@" sign and a dot. How would one make it so after clicking, say, Submit button and if there was a violation of any of the above rules then message box should pop up and tell the user which fields contain incorrect information.

I'm brand new to VB, though I have some experience in C++. I have a 9x9 grid of many textboxes in my form, and I am trying to output the position of each textbox, as well as its contents, to a text file. For example, if the textbox (3,4) contains 5, I would like to output 3 4 5 to a file, and so on for each text box. Also, I really have no way of knowing which textbox is which, they are only called TextBox1, TextBox2, etc.

The form has various controls on it, including textboxes, buttons, and others. When I run the above code 'ctrl' only seems to find buttons but not textboxes.

I have a form that has a tabcontrol (TabControl1) and within that tab control is another one (TabControl2). I have textboxes on the main form as well as in each of the tabcontrols.
In my savebutton event I have the following code:

What happens is that it records those textboxes that have changed and writes it to addendum.text. The problem is that it is only capturing those textboxes on my main form and none of the textboxes that get changed within TabControl1 or TabControl2.

I'm dynamically creating x number of textboxes on my form. Once I have done this and the user has done some stuff with them they need to be able to remove all of these textboxes to start again. I've written this code to go in a button, but it only gets rid of two of the textboxes at a time rather than them all in one button click (so it takes like 8 button presses to clear all of the textboxes on the form). Can anyone see the problem?
