I am trying to connect to an running instance of activex component in IE.I am using following piece of code. However, I am getting error 429 "Cant create activexobject"
Dim obj As Object
Set obj = GetObject(, "MyTimer.ctlTimer")
I got the following code from one of the other threads to check if a Folder already exists. But, when I paste it into my code, the ActiveXObject gets flagged with the message "Type ActiveXObject is not defined". How do I get around this?
I am using the activexobject in my project it works fine in IE. I know this is the microsoft control. I want to run the project in Mozila and Chrome but it showing the error as Activexobject is not defined.
objUser = GetObject(), I still get this exception:
"Cannot create ActiveX component."
After googling this for about 18 hours, I found that it could be because of a permissions issue. I am a local administrator on the PC, so I believe that takes care of permissions. Secondly, I discovered that the dll file might not be registered. I tried to use the following command to register the dll file I think is being used:
regsvr32 "c:windowssystem32wldap32.dll"
It says the following:
Error - The module "C:windowssystem32wldap32.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DllUnregisterServer was not found. Make sure that "c:windowssystem32wldap32.dll" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again. So no matter what I try to do, I keep getting this unhandled exception error that says that it cannot create the activex component. What do I need to do to be able to use this getObject() command? Is the problem with LDAP? What activeX or DLL file is failing if even just running the getObject command gives an exception?
Trying to run this piece of code and i get the error cannot create activex component.works fine on windows 2003,works fine on windows 2008 if user is logged in with admin access.
I have a windows service written in .NET 2.0 that will run every 5 minutes and executes bunch oracle SQL/PLSQL scripts based on time/validation, it throws the above said error some times against some SQLs, the same SQLs run fine at later point without any error, I have no idea what is going on with the app. I am not sure if this has any thing to do with oracle connection pool as I am properly closing the connections after every SQL execution.
Exception:
System.Exception: Unexpected return code: 1 at System.Data.OracleClient.DBObjectPool.GetObject(Object owningObject, Boolean& isInTransaction) at System.Data.OracleClient.OracleConnectionPoolManager.GetPooledConnection(String encryptedConnectionString,
I am creating a class ("Class B") which is used by another class ("Class A") which instantiates it in VB.NET 3.5.I would like Class B to read a value assigned to one of its properties by Class A every time an event happens in Class B.However, I would like this property value to be dynamically assigned to the property by Class A when the event is fired in Class B.I was thinking about somehow creating a delegate function in Class A that is linked to the property in Class B so that when the event is fired in Class B it would eventually invoke the delegate in Class A so that it returns a value to Class B.I've been reading around delegates (that's how I arrived at the idea), but I am stuck on how to code this up - could someone please help with some skeleton code?
Public Function CheckHasRoom(people_id As String, semester As String, year As String) ' Don't let folks already registered for a room register for another. Dim RoomSelected As String
[Code]....
But it is bugging out at hasroom.Any() saying, "Input string was not in a correct format." Any thoughts on why? This is returning a collection of rows just like where I use this same code elsewhere without issue?
I've spent 2 days to figure this out, but no luck. I have an IIF expression what shows the correct value when the condition goes true (IPmt calculated), but the else always returns #error, although it should be just 0. =IIf(Fields!PaymentNumber.Value<>0,
I've been trying to get the UNC path for a mapped drive in a web application written in VB.net 2005. I was able to get this code working[code]...
I tested this code out in a test application - just a simple web page. But when I plug the code into my actual project, it doesn't work. In my testing of other examples, I figured out that WNetGetConnection returns a system error of 487 - ERROR_INVALID_ADDRESS. But I don't understand why it would work in my test application but not my actual project application.
In our code base there is a function which should return either an object or nothing. The exact code is this : Return NothingThe calling method looks something like thismyObj = theClass.function()if myObj <> nothing then // fails
When I try to save the picture and the picture is already existed it show an error

Ok, here is the problem,in vbscript, i was reading parts of streams
i.e. teststrid = left (strLine,8) teststrnm =rtrim( mid (strLine,15,30)) teststrx = mid (strLine,57,8) teststr = left (strLine,3) strFormcode = left (strLine, 10) strSymmetrycode = left (strLine,14) strSigncode = left (strLine, 10)
Even in cases that strLine length was less than the index used to split the string, the program kept running. Now i am trying to do the same in VB.net, but since the strLine is not always bigger than the index used to break the string, it ives an error.I do not want to use try catch, because i will have very dirty and uselless code.
I was thinking something like resume next, but i guess it doesnt exist anymore.
When I first tried running the code I received an error message of "Invalid postback/callback argument". I set the ASPX page to have a enableEventValidation="false" property and tried running it again. It generates the page fine but when I click on a dynamically generated button it acts as if it is loading something and then just brings me back to select_hall.aspx (the page all this code is one), when (as you can see above) it should take me to select_room.aspx.
<p>I cannot for the life of me figure out why the below code works when I fire it from my localhost but does not work when I publish it. I am unable to remote Debug </p><p>but it seems that I am getting Error 2250... I've tried searching for it but its too damned generic a code?</p><p> </p><p>All I want is the UNC, why is everything in .NEt so damned difficult?
I'm trying to update an Access database by using an OLE connection, retrieving the information from textboxes where the user enters the new information. All the fields in my Access table are required fields, so I have validated that some info is entered in each one of the textboxes and that is the correct data type. But when I run the update query I get an error message saying something like values haven't been entered for some required parameters (my Visual Studio is the Spanish version, so I can't give the exact error message in English). The bit of code where the error occurs is inside the procedure called by my "Ok" button:
Dim campo1, campo2, campo3, campo4, campo5 As String Dim campo6, campo7, campo8 As Double Dim campo9, campo10 As Integer
[code]....
(I didn't post the whole code inside the procedure, but of course I'm creating the connection and everything)
The table has 10 fields, and the data is read from the textboxes and stored in variables (campo1, campo2, campo3, etc.), which I'm then using in the "set" query command.
"id" is the first field from the selected row in the datagrid, which I'm sending as a parameter to the procedure called by the "OK" button. The error message shows at runtime, so I'm guessing it's something in the query. Am I writing it correctly?
I need to open a *.py file in the shell (DOS) box, but it returns an error that no file was found at the specified path. But this path is completely correct. Unless Visual Basic are referencing to paths in another matter than C#? 'Cause I am developing in C# and referenced to VB to do this.

I am trying to use Authorize.net's SIM payment gateway process and am using the base code provided on the developer site. The problem is I am using Master Pages with my site and the hidden field names are getting concatenated with the nested control IDs as an example:
I am not the original author of this software project and the code is poorly documented. I am mainly a Java/C++ developer. The program displays the tree structure and allows files and folder to be selected. The program is getting errors with FileSystemTreeView when trying to return nodes on a system with a reserved partition. Here is what is happening: tree.SelectedNode = tree.Nodes(0) 'returns error with system reserved partition.calling, GetDriveList() will properly return all the drive letters - and not throw an error. Only when trying to get a tree.Node() or tree.load() is the error occurring.

Am I missing anything? It stops and throws that error on the line that calls GetResponse()?
I have a function that returns a value of the numbers of files, folders and subfolders in a directory. But i can't seem to handle the "UnauthorizedAccessException" which i get from certain read only files or folders. I tried to use both the DirectoryInfo.GetDirectories() and DirectoryInfo.GetFiles() methods. as you can see from the code below. This exception is thrown in start of the for each loop, so i'm not able to handel it with a try, Catch Ex As UnauthorizedAccessException to cintinue the loop.
