i am extremely new to VB and I am trying to create a project that extracts all the pages from a pdf file. I saw stanav's post with code, but i am extremely lost on how to implement.
I'm trying to do a setup project with VS2008 for my VB .NET application. I would need to create a text file into the installation directory based on the answers the user who installs the program gives. Idea is that I need to have the installation path variable in a text file so that I can read it. And also some other directory specifications too.
I could do the following: Write the wanted information to the window registry and after the installation is ready, create another application that is run at the end of the installation to create these files.
im trying to generate some html for a project im working on
i have an html page with a table for displaying images. the table has 2 columns, an image will be displayed in each column. say we have 9 images total, there would need to be 5 table rows. the left column would have the 9th image and the right column would be blank. im a bit lost on how to make this work.

I want to create personal folders during installation. I did the following steps:
Right click on your setup project -> View -> File System Right click on node "File system on
[Code]....
I know the above steps are correct and should work because i did it in the other application (solution) and worked fine. When i did same exact steps (of course i changed the folder name to be created), the application gets deployed but when i install, i don't get the Personal Folder under Documents? I wonder why did it work with my first solution and didn't work with the current one!
I am running vb.net in visual studio 2005 and i am fairly new to it all, whilst trying to create a windows application i have lost the .vbproj file and am only left with the .vb code that has been created whilst i have been using the toolbox to create the application graphically. Is there anyway for me to recover the .vbproj file without having to redo the whole thing?
i have studied very recently that an exe file could be created using "Setup and deployment" project, then by adding the required file to it,thus we can create a 'setup.msi' and 'setup.exe' But i want to know whether, we can create the same exe file , COMPLETELY THROUGH CODING....for example, when i click a button , then an exe file should be created...
I am developing a project now. My problem is how can I create a autogenerate alphanumeric in the textbox to be used as an ID of entries. I'm using VB.Net 2005 and MS SQL Server 2005 STD.
create a form with a TrackBar control so that when you Scroll the TrackBar it generates a frequency based on the value of the TrackBar. Beep() isn't really what I'm after. I was wanting it to smoothly transition through the frequencies. Basically, I want to create something that sounds something like a Theremin.
I've been looking online, and I can't seem to find anything. I don't even know how this would be accomplished. Is there a simple command to say "play this frequency until I tell you otherwise", or do I need to generate a .wav on the fly and have the system play that?
I am wanting to create a registration algorithm for my applications. I would like to generate a number/value from the users hardware/os data and then use that to create a key.
I have one successful VB program in VS Studio 2010 Express Now, I want to add features to it but keep the original as is. Is there a way to save the current project with a different name without loosing the path, resources used and code? I did try to copy the project directory to a different directory named "TMP" but it does not work.

I have achieved this output using System.IO.StreamWriter and creating a textfile with all the html formatting and in-line CSS and saving it with the .html extension like so:
I would like to generate a .jpg file by using vb.net desktop application. Example: the program will paint a simple rectangle with grey color, and produce as a physical image file (.jpg).
The problem is that it only adds to the text file it's suppose to read from, but instead of adding 4 strings into my listbox. Can someone figure out what's wrong with my code, and provide me the correct syntax for it. This is in a sub after click of a button in vb.2008.

I need assistance generating a xml file by reading values from an array of structs.
my struct looks like this: public structure myStruct dim ID as int dim myArray1 as boolean dim myArray2 as boolean dim myArray3 as boolean dim x as int dim y as int
I have several instances of these structs. I also have universal variables that are declared outside of the structs. I am looking to generate a xml file like this:
[Code]...
But how would I assign the values of each element by reading them in from the struct? Or do I need to use the XmlSerializer Class instead?
