I have windows xp professionalx64 installed on my C:/ drive and windows xp home edition installed on my D:/ drive, i have adminstration priveledges.This is the error i receivedError while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging.Microsoft Visual Studio Remote Debugging Monitor (MSVSMON.EXE) failed to start. I have created and deployed a windows service application and I added this line of code "System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Launch()" in the beginning of OnStart method in order to be able to debug the service but when I start the service the nothing is happened. I think the OnStart method have never fired otherwise the visual studio will popup once the debugger.launch line is executed even I tried to write some text to the event viewer to make sure but nothing gets written to the events viewer after I started the service. I included also the debugging symbol in my windows service setup project but I end up with the same result.Why it's not working? How can I make sure that the OnStart method gets fired or not?

Now, I'm changing my laptop, and the new has installed the Windows 7. So, I reinstalled VS 2005, taking care to install the Vista compatibility. Thus, the version of my current VS 2005 is 8.0.50727.867 (vsvista.050727-8600) SP2. And that is my problem.
When I ran the application in debug mode (F5) on Windows Vista, a windows appeared whenever there was an error, like below:

Final step in my application. I finally got all the requirements working, but now I need to have the application run in the background.
The application was written in Visual Studio 2010 VB, Win form app.

I have a VB.Net project that I am running from a local server and I need to use the credentials the user is currently logged in with to upload a file to a folder I create on a SharePoint site on the same domain. I can get it to upload if I specify the credentials but it will not work with system.net.credentialcache.defaultcredentials. It just gives me 3 empty strings and I get a 401 unauthorized error. I have seen a few threads that say you cannot use it with Windows Forms Applications. Is this true? Here is my code:

I have a Visual Basic DLL, I used it in a Windows User Control Application. It works fine, but when I HOST this Windows User Control in another Windows Forms application, it gives me the following error.
An error occurred creating the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. The error is: Creating an instance of the COM component with CLSID {66DF4F1A-E3E2-43D3-92BC-D56E9DDCB8AC} from the IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 800a005b.
When I run the User Control it works fine with me, ONLY when I host it in another Windows application this error occurs.
I'm using Visual Studio 2008 & Windows Server 2003 when I add the User Control, the DLL path is "C:Documents and SettingsUSERNAMEMy DocumentsVisual Studio 2008ProjectsHMS_WF4HMS_WF4objReleaseInterop.DLLNAME.dll"
Notes. it's in Release, but when I compile the application it puts the output in the Debug folder. Even if I select the Release folder for debugging and compilation, when the application is run, it searches for the DLL in the Release folder, but it's in the Debug folder.

FormA calls DialogB where user cancels DialogB which exits via ForceTermination(), see insert.Caller FormA check for DialogResult not = OK, which it isn't, and I can see this in debug as Abort(3).However, the code continues merrily along its way until I get a 'null reference' error which I'm trying to avoid via Force Termination().This is caused by the user cancelling DialogB, a selection process to get a database (SQL) instance.[code]

Since last 2 days I have been getting a strange problem with my Vb programming (VS2005). Whenever I open any Vb or C# code and press F5 (in order to debug), several windows open at a time like Memory1, Memory2, Memory3, Threads, Processes, Registers, Data sources. And simultaneously the SOLUTION EXPLORER that is present at top-leftmost corner generally goes missing. When I restore that and put my cursor over SOLUTION EXPLORER, the program hangs and a message comes as : "Microsoft Visual Studio has encountered a problem and needs to close".I have attached the screen shots of the problems to this Thread.I tried various ways like restoring my computer to an early date, repairing Windows XP and then uninstalling and reinstalling Visual Studio. But none seem to work.

I'm trying to use the Shell to have my application call an external application but its not working...I don't understand why. I get the following error: 'System.windows.shell' is a namespace and cannot be used as an expression!

I have a vb.net web application in visual web developer 2008 with a dll file and i need to debug a method in that dll. I also have project source files for the dll file itself. How could i make the web application use the source instead of the dll file so that i'd be able to debug it? I've tried debugging the dll project itself, but it's not a very good solution, because it seems the dll depends on the web application settings and data and it would simply be too much work to get it working. I trying to run MediaViewer and I getting a debugging error, sorry, I have no idea what this is about but this is the error message: "Could not load file or assembly 'Atalasoft.Shared, Version=2.1.0.2, Culture=neutral, PublicKey Token=2b02b46f7326f73b'....."
Then it goes on to say "WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF. To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value[HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftFusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging. To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftFusion!EnableLog]. I am running Vista.
