The data that is being loaded into the rich text box is located in a richtextformat file located on the hard drive. I noticed that when I entered a URL into one of the richtextformat files that it appeared that I was able to click on the text as if it were a link. So I wondered if it was possiable to click on that URL and open a web browser from the loaded richtextformat file? I have read several articles in regards to opening hyperlinks in rich text boxes which can open a web browser with a given URL.

Mar 31, 2009I am working on developing a livestock judging program for a 4-H project that will present you with a group of animals and you order the animals from best to worst by typing the placings in a text box (i.e. "1234").
When I type in the placings incorrectly, it comes up with the message box that it is supposed to, but when I type in the correct placings, it shows the message box that it is supposed to but then shows the message box that is supposed to show when you type in the placings incorrectly.

Feb 15, 2012The code in question is in place, and it works. The project is all but wrapping up. That being said, I would love to find a better way to run this section of code in an x64 system so I have the solution ready for future projects. What I currently have in place is as follows:

Now I know the easy way to achieve my goal would be to use the timer object in Visual Studio. The problem I ran into is I was developing an automated command line program. As such there was nothing I could attach the timer to (that I'm aware of). I just needed to pause the program for a few seconds to allow the DTSX package (SSIS file if you're not familiar) to load the file before I remove it from the staging folder.
While I was doing research for this issue I came across the old Sleep() function (referenced to a library in kernel32 as I understand it...never used this before either). When I tried to use this on my current system (64-bit system) I received stack overflow errors. Additional research lead to something called wow64, but I did not have enough time to fully research what this is / how to use it.

The user has to click on the browse button and select an image for processing. The user then has to click on the Process button for processing the image. After clicking the process button the image selected by the user has to go as input to the MATLAB program.
Q1) I want to know how to give the image selected by the browse button of VB.NET, as input to the MATLAB program for processing?Also while the image is being processed in MATLAB, a message such as "The image is being processed" must be displayed on the VB.NET GUI.

DLL That Is Accessed During The Installation Of The Program?
Dec 4, 2009Computer.FileSystem.FileExists(Environment.GetFolderPath(ProgramFiles) to get the Program Files directory in my application. The problem is that when running on a 64 bit version of Windows 7, I am getting the Program Files (x86) directory, not the 64 bit directory. As far as I can tell, everything is compiled as 64 bit.This code is actually in a DLL that is accessed during the installation of the program.
Is there any way to get the 64 bit path?

First time the program is opened, the user creates an account with it and a file is created stating that an account has already been made, and then the user logs in.Second time its loaded, if that file exists, don't show the NEW USER page, and allow the user to log in, checking their details against the local file.Now whats best, a txt file? A db?Whatever method as I need all the settings chosen in the program to be there every time it loads up...Also, Is it best to make this program have to be installed so it has access to all the resources on the computer?

Feb 18, 2012I'm a beginner. I recently developed an application in C#. Now I wanna develop its setup. I read a few articles online, followed them, found it very easy. I also changed the default location of application folder from C:Program Files to C:. My application folder is containing a few folders besides exe and dlls which I added manually.
Now here the problem starts, when I install the application and change the location say from c: to d:, my files (all files including exe and dll) are going to user's given location. But my folders (all folders in application folder) are going to c: (which is default location given while creating setup). But I want output files and that folders at same location
