VB - How To Program A Flow Chart
Mar 21, 2010I have been trying to learn how to program a flow chart and am stumped. I want to know how to get the example code from the book that I got at the library to calculate the outcome. I have been at this for days in my spare time and can't figure it out. I tried to apply the examples to my code and got part of it figured out now I am confused on breaking the code down so that I can assign a room if the age is less than 21. Do I just code it the same but change the greater than less than cymbal? I have attached another photo of the code that I have put in Vb for my forum and came up with it between the example in my book and the examples posted on my post. I am getting errors and don't know why.

Windows Media Player Unexpected Program Flow
Jun 23, 2011I am trying to play some WAVs within Media player and am confused at the order my code performs tasks in.
I need to use Windows Media player as my WAVs are 8 channel and just playing the WAV without using media player doesn't seem to support this.

Dec 21, 2010I'm using the code below in my old VB6 application to show a graph of the current upload speed of the application. Image of the graph is at the bottom of this post.
I'd like to convert it to .NET, but I'm not really sure how to do it. Expecially the Polygon API is giving me headaches. I guess I can use DrawPolygon, but I'm having problems with the second parameter (converting Pts to System.Drawing.Point) and also the third parameter that DrawPolygon doesn't have. I'm not looking for anything fancy like the chart control, but like to get the graph as shown in the image below.[code]....
Program A Oscilloscope Graph?
Mar 20, 2012I have a microcontroller communicate to PC. I programed the microcontroller. One of the microcontroller functions is received analog signal from a sensor. I want to program graph which will display an analog signal from the microcontroller. I have the microcontroller communicate to the PC just fine. I could display the signal using a label.
What I would like help with is this (This is new to me):
1-How can I make a graph similar to oscilloscope graph like the picture. Add two trackbars, one for the vertical (value) and one for the horizontal (time)axis (for Y and X). So I could move the graph point. Up, down and sideways.
2-The graph point will move vertically upon the change of the value of a TextBox1. I will change that later to the signal I recieve.
3-The time interval is adjustable via TextBox2.
4-How to analyze the data What I thought of is save the data (the value from the two TextBoxes time and value) will be saved to text file so I could analyze the data.

Oct 6, 2009I am developing a program that populates a rich text box and from a click event on a listbox. The data that is being loaded into the rich text box is located in a richtextformat file located on the hard drive. I noticed that when I entered a URL into one of the richtextformat files that it appeared that I was able to click on the text as if it were a link. So I wondered if it was possiable to click on that URL and open a web browser from the loaded richtextformat file? I have read several articles in regards to opening hyperlinks in rich text boxes which can open a web browser with a given URL.

Mar 31, 2009I am working on developing a livestock judging program for a 4-H project that will present you with a group of animals and you order the animals from best to worst by typing the placings in a text box (i.e. "1234").
When I type in the placings incorrectly, it comes up with the message box that it is supposed to, but when I type in the correct placings, it shows the message box that it is supposed to but then shows the message box that is supposed to show when you type in the placings incorrectly.

Now I know the easy way to achieve my goal would be to use the timer object in Visual Studio. The problem I ran into is I was developing an automated command line program. As such there was nothing I could attach the timer to (that I'm aware of). I just needed to pause the program for a few seconds to allow the DTSX package (SSIS file if you're not familiar) to load the file before I remove it from the staging folder.
While I was doing research for this issue I came across the old Sleep() function (referenced to a library in kernel32 as I understand it...never used this before either). When I tried to use this on my current system (64-bit system) I received stack overflow errors. Additional research lead to something called wow64, but I did not have enough time to fully research what this is / how to use it.

Jun 6, 2012I wrote this VB program to be able to throw a device we developed into programming mode where we use an ATMEL Flip installer to upload new firmware. I can program one device after another running the application off of Visual Studio Express 2010 or Visual Studio 2010, but when I go to publish this file and run it on another machine, it becomes unstable and crashes after each upload. On those same computers if I run the raw unpackaged program under Visual Studio Express, the system does not crash, and I can program devices repeatedly.

I am trying to make the program close if the -1 string is sent with the program. See my installer allows for me to run certain programs before it actually installs, but it doesn't shut down copies of the program itself. So I have a next startup instance set to shut the program down if the -1 is received. But if the program is not running it starts up instead. This is not desired. form1.close doesn't work. e.cancel = true doesn't work, etc etc. What can I do to make the program not start during this instance.

each character in the game has its own dedicated folder for each file that the character has relating to it...
what I want to know how to do, is to have my game copy the loaded/chosen background image to their respective characters data folder, and have the game reload/reset the games default background image, to the one piced by he player...I am having a hard time figuring out how to do this however...I've tried a lot of different things...and nothing is working yet...

The only thing that it does when I press the button, is starts the batch file, then goes to function searchtitle, which executes the batch file again when it finds out it didn't work properly.The button text doesn't change, none of the items are being added to my first list box, and I can't do anything to the window after pressing the button. It constantly opens the batch file every 5 seconds or so.

The issue I'm having is no matter what the user types in the program end. What I would like to happen is if the user types s, then the program starts over and lets the user perform another search. Flash Card Program - Type All The Words On A Text File And Have The Program Randomly Pull One Of Them
Feb 15, 2009Anyway, I'm a teacher and am writing a program that simply shows kids a word on a flashcard. There are 2 buttons, 1 to read the word and 1 to go to a new work. There are going to be 300 words. Really I'm just testing it right here. What I want to know is should I be inputting all the words right into the code like I did with "hi" and "not 1" (Don't ask. those are just the 2 random words I picked to test this out with). OR is there a better way (maybe somehow to type all the words on a text file and have the program randomly pull one of them (I don't know how to do this).
