I would like to insert Radiobutton text value to my SQL database. I'm using Radiobutton for gender selection. I tried the code femaleRB.checked but it return a true value on my database. I want the text "Female" shown on my DB.

These are options to one question, so need to in the database under 1 record. so - question1 yes, question 1 no, question1 yes and so on. i want to use a while loop or some other loop to take all these values and insert them or update them in the database for that particular question. i m new to programming. the db table is ID, question, Answer. so it will be 1 question1 yes, 2 question1 yes, 3 question1 no.

Teh table only contains these 4 fields and another field which is an automatically generated number called nbrQuoteID .All of the fields are number fields but I have tried sending them as text to see if it made a difference (Threw up an error) but it didn't.

the Toolbox -> Choose item -> COM Components -> add Windows Media Player component
(which references to C:WindowsSystem32wmp.dll)
But there is not the control on my Toolbox.
In my project references I see "MediaPlayer" into "Imported namespaces" and it is checked. In the references window it is also present "Windows Media Player". Where is the error?
Having abit of trouble with inserting values that i have in my form into my sql database.Basically it supposed to calculate a customer who borrowed a DVD or CD. I select the date that the customer brings the returned item by selecting a datepicker. The calculation works fine, but i want to insert 3 values into my database under column names that i already have.
The table name is Trnsaction. it has the following coloumn names: Trnsaction_id Member_id Album_id issue_date return_date members_date days_delayed fine The last 3 coloumns(members_date ,days_delayed ,fine) are values i wish to add to my database. The values days_delayed and fine only pop up when i have selected my date (thats members_date) form the datepicker and selected the calculate button
i have a problem where i want to use 2 radio buttons to view sum data related to them. e.g. if i select DVD then all the dvd's listed in my database must display, and if select CD then all cd's will be displayed on my data grid(2 radio buttons 1.DVD 2.CD). The problem is that the details of DVD and CD are in a column name called "Album_types".
View 3 Repliesi have a form with a bunch of textbox's that are connected to a ms access data source, so i can update, edit and delete records.I also have 4 radio buttons.What i'm trying to acheive is that when a row is selected in the datagridview, the textboxes show the values in them (id, name, number, etc.),which works perfectly, and the radio buttons should show the value of the "grade" column of the cell that is selected.
So basicaly when you click a record, if the grade is 5 i want the radiobutton5 to be selected. And if i click radiobutton6 it should update the field to 6.
I have a form with a series of text boxes to accept user input and a button that should basically run an INSERT statement to a SQL database.I'm baffled at why I cannot figure out how to code this. All of the samples posted on the web are for VB 2005/.NET and the syntax is definitely different in 2008 because attempting to copy+paste to just test some of their source is just littered with errors.

View 3 RepliesI have a form and stored procedure that inserts the data from the form. It works fine except that if a field isn't filled in it doesn't insert a NULL into SQL it inserts "".
I've tried a few different ways but none seem to insert NULL, the one below still inserts "", can anyone point me in the right direction?

So if I enter nothing into address1 field it should write NULL to screen but it always writes NOT NULL. What does an empty form field equal? in classic ASP it was always "".
do you know when you have two radio buttons? How do you make something, e.g an application form, appear below? For example if you have two radiobuttons, one labelled "single application" the other "joint application". If you click "single application", how do you get form to appear below?

This is the strangest thing, I can not figure out why this is happening. When I delete a radio button from my form which is used to filter data in a database Form_Load stops working.My project consists of a database and a web browser. The database has a search filter options.[code]For some reason it didnt load my settings on start up. I made a button which displayed True/False in a text box to check if it was saved in my settings, it was, it just didnt want to load. So I deleted it and everything broke! Nothing in the code is referenced to the RadioButton or its code.
Have I done something wrong or is VB just messing with me? There is obviously a bunch of more code, I just posted what I think is relevant to the issue. If you feel something is missing, tell me and Ill post it. ied to change the RadioButton with a CheckBox, and I changed the code from "Me.ExampleTableAdapter.FilterHide..." to "Me.Example TableAdapter. Fill...", which is the same as in Form_Load. It works if it starts checked. If I remove this code or delete the CheckBox nothing works even though the same code is in Form_Load. If I start off with the CheckBox in an Unchecked state nothing loads, if I check it everything except the Browser works for some reason.
Ive only recently starting fiddling with Visual Basic Express and Sql Databases. Ive managed to get a database up and running, and can query information from it. I have even created a form that can add a new entry to the table im using.The first form has a ComboBox that list the PlayerNames in my table. Form2 allows you to add a new name to the table, but anything I add isnt immediately updated in Form1. I have to relaunch the program to see the new entries. Even then, these new entries dont seem to be permanent as they eventually dissappear.The code I have for Form1:

The application will store the list of person's basic details such as name, age and country.
