Have the following code which creates a table of all the images in a folder.[code]What I want to do now is group all these by the first two characters and get the total number for each and insert them into individual strings. So for the above example it would be something like:[code]
I have certain files that need deleted every time I run my program. There are some files that start with f. and then end with .00000668 or .00005396 and so on. Here is my coding that is not working to delete the f files.
How would I code a TryParse to get the input from customer from a textbox named Strands and convert it to a number (this number will always be a whole complete number, cannot be 5.6 or 4 1/2 or whatever) then have that Strand number be muliplied by the selected item in my listbox1. This listbox has an access database bound to it with 2 columns Size and Area, the Size equals the Area and I set the Value to the Area column but set the Size to show up in the list box. and the Strands textbox has to muliply by the Size picked, but by the Area # not the Size #. And the results of that multiplication showing up in another textbox named total.
I'm building a tool that consists of a Webservice that will run commandline tools at specific times. On average there will be running 15-20 CL tools at the same time. Every CL tool runs no longer than about 0,5-1 minute on average. The webservice needs to be able to check each CL's status every 2-3 seconds or so.
I've got some advice about how to do this; named pipes looks likes the best "technical" solution. However I'm wondering if communicating with simple very small text "status" files would be a better, less complicated and less error-risk, way. I prefer the solution that is the most resource friendly.
im working on a project that is calculating the total population for given countries and its in the hundreds of thousands. And i need to output the population with the ,'s in the appropriate places.Ex. population 123456789 i need to output it in a listbox as 123,456,789 so im looking for a converter function or something built in that takes my value
How do I set button1.image to the image resource named in a string? if my_string = "image1" then button1.image = my.resources.image1 else if my_string = "image2" then button1.image = "image2" ... else if my_string = "image30" then button1.image = "image30" end if Is there an easier way to do this?
I am trying to think of a possible way to insert a colon and decimal point to a part of a number. I am making a Rubik's Cube timer, and I converted the times to milliseconds so I can calculate the average of 5 with that. I averaged the milliseconds, but now I need to convert that into minutes, seconds, and milliseconds. Does anyone have any idea on how I would go about this?
i do have a table with 3 cols, 2 of those will visible for users to enter data, the last one is needed to get inserted as the next number of the previous number.

It try to insert 10 digits number to database sql server through textbox it give me this error. Here is the code which i use for validation the textbox
Private Sub contacttxt_KeyPress(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyPressEventArgs) Handles contacttxt.KeyPress If (e.KeyChar < Chr(48) Or e.KeyChar > Chr(57)) And e.KeyChar <> Chr(8) Then
To improve performance, when one has many files to readwrite it is better to save them in smallergroup in different folders. Is there a magic number over which it is better to start splitting the folder? for example below "10.000" (invented number) files can be stored in one single folder, while above that it is better to start storing files in multiple folders.
so say I have a string called Cmd, and the text inside the string is Restarting server in ()..., what I was wondering was how I would go about inserting different substrings like 3, 2 and 1 in between the two parentheses? I know about Cmd.Insert() but I don't know how I would make it go between the two parentheses.
I have tried everything.but im not able to insert updat and delete the excel file..im able to connect the excel sheet.the connection also seems to be opened...here s my connection string:

I am doing a project of inserting the data into the database through the used of textbox. I am using 5 textboxes when I run the application. The application is working fine but the problems is that when I post this codes, there is answer that I have to modify the inserting part to make it better. Is there any other way to make it better for the part when I am inserting the data? The program that I am using to make this application is visual studios 2005 and sql server 2005 for the database.
The XML String I am getting from other application is converting & to & and 0F to ?F etc. I am loading the XML string into XDocument and inserting into db using linq. Is there any easy way to replace those characters with actual ones.
I created a listbox using VB.NET. When the user select an item (it is a string format) in the listbox and click on a button, there will be a number beside the string and the number will increment which time the button is clicked. Anyone know how to do it...?Below is the coding I'd done, but I don't know how to do the increment part. Anyone know what coding I need to add?
Dim no As Integer = 0 listBox.Items.Add(listBox.SelectedItem & no)
I have written a program which connects to MS sql express 2008 using the string below. This is OK on my computer but when I try to run this on a client computer I get the following message: "An attempt to attatch an auto-named database for file :(C:UsersBarry2010 vb programsadotrialadotrialResults 6.mdf) failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share."
Basically i have a query string that when i hardcode in the catalogue value its fine. when I try adding it via a variable it just doesn't pick it up.This works:
Dim WaspConnection As New SqlConnection("Data Source=JURA;Initial Catalog=WaspTrackAsset_NROI;User id=" & ConfigurationManager.AppSettings("WASPDBUserName") & ";Password='" & ConfigurationManager.AppSettings("WASPDBPassword").ToString & "';")
This doesn't:
Public Sub GetWASPAcr() connection.Open() Dim dt As New DataTable() Dim username As String = HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name
[code]....
When I debug the catalog is empty in the query string but the WASP variable holds the value "WaspTrackAsset_NROI"
How would I go about finding a string of text in a text file then underneath that string of text inserting my own string? So far I have this which isn't working:
Dim MyFile() As String = System.IO.File.ReadAllLines(filePath) Dim MySW As New System.IO.StreamWriter(filePath, False) Dim Mytempstring As String Dim StoreInd As String [Code] .....
far it works! But it work's too well. What I'm trying to do is insert a string of text at a certain index position of a text file, underneath a certain line of text. So far I have:
'Controls Var 16 If CheckBox1.Checked = True Then If Mytempstring.Contains("zrandomtextz=0") = True Then Mytempstring = Mytempstring.Replace("zrandomtextz=0", "zrandomtextz=1") ElseIf Mytempstring.Contains("zrandomtextz=") = False Then
[Code]...
It's inserting the text, but it's inserting it at every line of text in the file. So instead of one instance of "zrandomtextz" underneath "xinserttextx" I get "zrandomtextz" before every single line in the file. Can someone please help me as this has been an issue for months now? Edit: There are quite a few lines above this one, as in 50-150, so I removed all of the above section, however I can assure you that whenever it is simply replacing then writing to file it works flawlessly, it's only now that I'm having problems and this is when I try to insert new stuff under stuff.
I have a couple of textfields in a Windows form. One of these textfields is allowed to be NULL. When I enter a value for every field, it is all inserted, no problem. When I leave the field (txtGewicht) blank, I can't seem to be able to insert NULL in Access Database.
If Double.TryParse(txtGewicht.Text, 0) Then klant.Gewicht = Double.Parse(txtGewicht.Text) Else
[Code]....
This is what I get:
"Cannot set column 'Gewicht' to NULL, please use DBNull instead"
So I changed 'Nothing' to DBNull.value, but it then tells me that System.DBNull cannot be converted to type Double.
I'd like to convert a string which contains a decimal number into string that contains the binary value, the octal and the hexadecimal value of that decimal number.Afterwards I also like to convert a string containing a binary, octal and hexd. number into a decimal string.Basically I'm looking for the functions:
dec2bin dec2oct dec2hex bin2dec oct2dec hex2dec
I'd not prefer to rewrite a function, I'm sure the framework must have these functions already.
I am trying to get a number into a cell but as a string not a number. For example if I have the number as '12345678901234' instead of putting that exact number in it changes it to ' 1.23457E+13 '. How do I get it to read it as a string and not an integer? Here is the code that I am using.
Dim num As String If pRow.IsProjectNumNull = False Then
I'm trying to add a new record to my database but i keep getting the message - "conversion from type DBnull to type string is not valid". I think its something to do with the Employee ID when VB attempts to save it to the database my code is below
Imports System.Data.OleDb Public Class Add Private Sub DisplayRow()
