I've got a number of buttons in an 8x8 grid named cmd_A1, cmd_A2, etc all the way to cmd_H8.
I want to have a string that contains the name of a particular button, and then use that string to access a particular button.
1) Dim button_string as string = "cmd_A1"
2) Dim current_button as button = [the button named in button_string]
3) current_button.text = "♖"
How do I do step 2?
How do I set button1.image to the image resource named in a string?

View 1 RepliesScenario: FormA has a DataGridView with a DataTable as it's DataSource. The DefaultView of the DataTable is set to a particular filter, say "UnitFreight < 2.00". The user selects multiple rows then selects a context menu item to open up form2. Form2 does a bunch of stuff and in this example it will change the UnitFreight value in the selected rows on form1 to say 2.27. It also raises an event in form1 to adjust attribute cells such as UnitPrice.
The issue is that doing the above example puts the selected rows out of the range of the applied filter and I believe this is the issue because I end up getting a "Column named UnitPrice cannot be found" error. This is happening during the update of those attribute columns. I'm guessing the row has been filtered out so there's no column to be found. If I do the update without the filter applied it works fine. So my question is, what's the best approach to updating the data in this situation. I've started converting the updates to work against the DataTable directly instead of the DataGridView.

I've got the credentials, the script can pass the login page but when trying to navigate to the second page within, the page is being redirected back(to the first page after logging in). So what I would like to do is use the value of ComboSelection to access the appropriate panel (instead of using conditional statements or select case statements).
For example, whichever value the user selects from the combo box, I want to change the corresponding panel's background color to blue. So in the combo box's click event, I want to do something like this...

All the CAPITALIZED name are Table and all items inside the parenthesis are fieldnames. I don't know where to start on working on this RECORDS. I was able to understand visual basic 6 a bit, and i am trying to apply the coding to VB 2008 but all i get is errors. I am hopeless now and i need help to be able to start my programs. I have a program in VB.NET 2005. At some point I have to open an Access2003-Application for getting data in it. I do that by pretending my program is a human user and let it do all the work in Access as a human user would do. Filling Fields, pressing buttons etc. I use the Primary Interop Assemblies for that. So far so good. That code is in use for over half a year now. In the last week I got Office 2007 installed on my machine. Of course I tested the installed version of my program if everthing still works. Every test was succesfull. But if I do the same tests in Visual Studio it always crashes.

I have two Access database, say database One.mdb and Two.mdb. I want to use VB2005 to export tblCustomer from One.mdb to Two.mdb, and replace the existing tblCustomer in Two.mdb, during run time. I basically want to simulate the export function that is available in MS Access (which can export one table from one Access database to another) with VB2005 during run time. I can think of a way by querying the table to a dataset and then delete everything on the other database before filling the table in that database with the dataset. However, there should be something simpler and faster than that, shouldn't it? Any idea?
