Irc Server - Computers - Able To Control Them Remotely Without Using External Dekstop Management ?
Jan 6, 2009
At my house we got 6 computers and 5 laptops. Not I want to be able to control them remotely without using external dekstop management or something else. So i can control when my kids can use the computer or not
So I came up with the idea of creating an irc server that listens to commands that I type from my main computer. The commands are no problem for me to program but the irc server itself looks pretty hard. I've been looking on google but cant find a good source to learn it. some other ideas than using irc protocol?
I have a server and a client working with sockets. I run the server at my laptop, sending its internal IP to my Hotmail account and I run my client at my desktop. I enter the internal IP and connect fine! But when I tried to connect with my cousin's PC, which is not in my network, I entered its external IP and the client couldn't connect.
Here is the code for the Server (consists of 2 forms): Form 1 (Server): Imports System.Net Imports System.Net.Sockets Imports System.IO Imports Microsoft.Win32 Imports System.Net.Mail [Code] .....
I am working this little project where i need to ping some servers remotely. there's three of them. I need o ping them and per say while they're being pinged to have a command window open with the pinging process going to keep an eye untill it can ping successfully. And since this is for all three servers how do i create a program where it will have all three servers being pinged? [code]
I have a VPN server Hosted in 80.234.49.64 For Incoming Connections I have to Login Remotely(RDP) & add User Manualy(username & password)I Just want to do it remotely(adding users for incoming connection) Through an application........which i want to write in vb.net?
I have been searching for a good code example that will place a small server program on my server and then allow me to use a client on my pc that will tell the server program to run a batch file on the server.
I thought this would be simple... I am finding it not that easy.
We have a server that users need to execute a command on however we do not want them to have login rights to the server so this will allow them to execute the batch file without having to log in.
I have created a vb.net application that uses a SQL Server database at a remote location over the internet. There are 10 vb.net clients that are working on the same time. The problem is in the delay time that happens when inserting a new row or retrieving rows from the database, the form appears to be freezing for a while when it deals with the database, I don't want to use a background worker to overcome the freeze problem.I want to eliminate that delay time and decrease it as much as possible?
I started learning programming using VB.NET a few months ago, so I'm still like a total noob at this, and I'm not experienced enough with the Microsoft Visual Basic Library to get my answer. I have done some Google searches, and still haven't found any relevant answers.
Okay, suppose I want make a VB.NET desktop app. that displays the number "1" in a textbox when a button is pressed... I can easily make that program, but what if I want the program to, on my remote command, display the number "2" instead when the button is pressed?
Is it possible to write code that reads gmail messages? I know that gmail is pretty open about it's SMTP and POP ports and stuff.[code]...
I am working on a project that includes having my VB app pull event log data from a Windows 200x server remotely. Does anyone have any code snippets or reference sites that would have information on remotely accessing admin functions/data in a Win2Kx server environment?
I have an application in visual basic .net 2008 that allows us to configure our application on different servers, as part of this I need the ability to start/stop windows services on remote machines from the application.I am currently using the following code
Below I have the create script for a table. It works great but for some reason it doesn't include the Keys, Constrains, Triggers or Indexes. I am having little luck finding documentation on how to do this. Most of the example I can find is in C# as well.
I have created a VB.NET program using windows forms. The program runs on a remote PC and displays information on a screen. The computer does not even have a mouse or keyboard connected to it. The program shows the information based on the file that is loaded.I want to be able to change this file remotely to another file that is already on the remote PC. I can't use a graphical remote desktop client as we have very limited bandwidth. So, my idea is to change the file using the command prompt.I'm not sure how to do this. Should I use something like this and load DosModule first:[code]How would I then read commands that is send to the program? I also only want one instance of the program running.
I need to create a shared folder on the desktop for a specific user on a specific pc and assign full control sharing and security permissions for only tat user and a domain admin user. I need to do this for 300+ PCs. Going to each user manually and askin them if i can do tat on their pcs is very time consuming.
Is there a way i can code this and do this remotely where i can input,
1)the computer name/IP Address
2) the folder name i want to create
3) the user for which i have to create it for (just basically goin to doc and settin.>user name> desktop )
and i can achieve the folder creation for tat user with full control to that user and a domain admin user for sharing and security
how to share sql database through LAN computers, here what I have done after I did a research.I enabled remote connections for sql server as using both tcp/ip and names pipes. In firewall, I added an exception for sqlservr.exe and sqlbrowser.exe as allowed in the firewall.cplTCp for sql server network configuration is enabled.
Therefore, I connected the sql server database into the vb.net where I chose the wizard for connecting the database as "add new data source"...I selected from there a Microsoft SQL Server (SqlClient). And Then finished the connection of sql server database and vb.net...Therefore, I built the program and its running....In the project properties
Setting tab, I got my connection string :
Data Source=MUSTAFAMUSTAFA;Initial Catalog=CustomerRegister;User ID=sa;Password=123
Or where exactly can the connection string be found?OR that conection string i found the setting tab is enough for other computer to detect my database server? Please here i am stressed about it.So what should I do next...can I publish the program and it will run another machine where database will be looking for my machine...or there other steps I need to do?

I have a web portal designed in ASP.NET in which we ask customers to enter the data. On the click of submit button all i have done is, just read the data and called a stored procedure which inserts that into a table. There seems to be a problem in SQL Server 2005 while inserting the data from multiple computers at the same time. We have tested in our lab with three computers, result is that we get the data inserted successfully in only one machine and on the other two machines we get error on page. I have used transactions in the stored procedure and also tried setting the isolation levels to READ_UNCOMMITTED, SERIALIZABLE and SNAPSHOT. Nothing seems to work properly.
We are thinking about changing our current database system, MS Access 2007 front end and MS SQL Server 2005 backend to using a higher level language such as Visual Basic .Net. I wonder if this is the BEST solution for data management? Currently, among others, we have two big database programs that handle more than two hundred users and it's crashed often. That's the reason we think about changing to something that can handle these database programs effectively preferably using MS technology such as .Net.
I use visual basic 2010 professional edition. I am working on a project on it with access on the backhand. i want to view the data in datagrid control for the stock management. I also want to setup a query in the query builder which will search the database according to the ID but i cant get it right i dont know why. i type in the form filter this: LIKE @ID + '%'. But when i click somewhere else, an error appears which says: Data type error in expression.
I am using VB 2005. I am trying to open an external program, make it invisible, and then control it.
