Label Doesn't Update When Button Is Clicked?

So, I'm working on a simple game in Visual Basic, and I have 2 labels. One named "pointsLbl" and one named "pointsleftLbl":
pointsLbl.Text = "Points: " & points
pointsleftLbl.Text = "Points left: " & pointsleft I also have two integers, one named "points" and one named "pointsleft". The problem I'm having is that when the point boost button is pressed, the labels don't update and also don't show the new points and new points left. I used to do a lot of programming in GW-Basic and QuickBasic (ah, the good ol' days), but I'm a total newbie at VB2010. I'm trying my first programming sessions and using forums and ebooks to learn. There is one thing that puzzles me and I just can't figure it out.Private Sub btnOK_ Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnOK.Click..When I click btnOK, certain codes are activated and Sub 2 is being called.Sub 2 calls Sub 3 and Sub 3 calls Sub 4.When Sub 4 is done, I want it to call the first form again, with the mentioned 'OK' button and have it wait for the button to be clicked again.My problem is, when Sub 4 calls the starting form with the 'OK' button, the program seems to "remember" that btnOK has been clicked and proceeds to run the code that follows. It does not wait for the button to be clicked again. I can't find out how to tell the program that the button has not been clicked on. What should I do? Is there a way to "reset" this button, so it doesn't remember it has been clicked on before? Or is Call in this case the wrong method to go from Sub to Sub and to the Form again and should I find another way to go through the program?

I have nested repeaters, each item in the nested repeater has a label and a button on it, i want to beable to access the label.text when the button is clicked, I think i'm nearly there as I can return the index of the repeater and nested repeater that is clicked, i'm just having some trouble finding the label itself.
You might be able to help me without me posting the repeater code. Here is my code behind for when the button is clicked.

I'm currently getting this error 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object.' when trying to write the value of UserId.Text so i think i've got it slightly wrong in this line:

When I try to test this the .ExecuteNonQuery() becomes highlighted and says the given type name is unrecognized. My table is setup as table1 and the only 2 columns are datetime and temperature. I want the label text to go to temperature and I would like somehow the time the temperature was taken to go into the datetime field. I had the provider=microsoft.jet.oledb.4.0, but I changed it since I thought this was the one to use.

I am trying to update my form once the delete button is clicked. There are several fields like Name, Date, Date of Birth and so on. Once I delete a record I want the form to automatically load with new / updated data. This form fetches data from MS Access using OLEDB I have spent a long long time trying this but did not get any solution.

In trying to test some graphic features, I am trying to get them to display on load so button doesn't have to be pressed. I used the following code as suggested from forum. Message boxes run but ellipses aren't displayed until button is clicked which is what I am trying to avoid!

i am having a problem with a calculator that i am making. i am using radio buttons as selectors for the operations (+-*/). i have two input-boxes. i want to do some error checking. for example if the user want to find the mod of a number, i want them to only use inputbox1 to enter the value. I am using an update panel and when I click a button it will update all the panels. updapanel1.update() is very simple, but my data is not updating unless I hit the button twice. My gridviews shows data for a selected user, and then all the grids reflect that users data. works fine all the update panels work for the gridviews. Now for somereason when i try to do a row count and update the panel with the summary, it does not work, i get either the previous users summary or if i hit update again for the same user i get the correct data.

I have a gridview that is set to a sql datasource, it is generating the columns automatically. If I add a column to the table it is referencing, it will draw that column and display it, but it does not update the insert/update commands to include the new column. I have numerous buttons on a form, one each to select a playing card (52 buttons). When the Card(button) is selected I want to highlight it by changing the border from black to Red, then if reclicked from change back from red to black, easy enough (if then else). I have already done the creation of button and the dragging of button at runtime already.But now i need to know how do i save the last dragged button on the form and also detect the name of the last clicked button.so lets say i now drag a button to coordinates 25,254. so when i exit the form and the next time i launch it, the button will still be at 25,254. and this one will go on for the number of button i created like 100. so when i launch the form the 100 button will be at the exact position where i last saved them.the second part is lets say i created button1 and button2 on the form in runtime. so when i clicked the first button, it should display button1. and if i clicked on button 2, it should say button2. same goes for like 100buttons.
