May 5, 2010I am trying to make a program that would allow me to track all my customers and flights. My idea is to have a label for every seat of the plane. Then I would want it to highlight and turn green when the ticket's barcode is scanned.I think it would be cheaper to do it this way then to buy some corporate software.

When I try to test this the .ExecuteNonQuery() becomes highlighted and says the given type name is unrecognized. My table is setup as table1 and the only 2 columns are datetime and temperature. I want the label text to go to temperature and I would like somehow the time the temperature was taken to go into the datetime field. I had the provider=microsoft.jet.oledb.4.0, but I changed it since I thought this was the one to use.

Restore Settings From Another App - Label / GroupBox And CheckBoxes
Feb 16, 2012I am making an application that is designed to restore the settings for another application of mine. It so far contains 1 Label, 1 GroupBox and 4 CheckBoxes. The code I am making is designed so that when CheckBox1 is checked, CheckBox3 is enabled, and vice versa.
That does work, with this code in CheckBox1_CheckedChanged:
If CheckBox1.Checked = True Then
CheckBox3.Enabled = True
Else
CheckBox3.Enabled = False
End If
As I said, this code works exactly as intended. However, when I try to do the same with CheckBox2 and CheckBox4, using the following code in CheckBox2_CheckedChanged:
If CheckBox2.Enabled = True Then
CheckBox4.Enabled = True
Else
CheckBox4.Enabled = False
End If
It is the same code, basically, the problem is though, when I check CheckBox2, then CheckBox4 will enable, but when I remove the check from CheckBox2, CheckBox4 will remain enabled. [URL]
Highlight Part Of A Text In A Label?
Mar 24, 2011I've got a textbox and a label. In the label, I've got the string "alberto". What I want to do is, I want the charactes I write in the textbox to highlight in the label, so, for example, when I write "al" in the textbox, the first two characters will be highlighted.
So, the real question is: how can i highlight only some characters in the label instead of the whole text?

Jun 22, 2010Here using VB .Net 2008. I seem to be having trouble getting group boxes to appear when I click a radio button.
For example:

This indeed brings up the first radio button however I have other groupboxes underneath which with the same code will not appear when the radio button is checked.
Eg:

The second groupbox does not appear and is directly behind the first groupbox. The Top code doesn't seem to be working either.
VS 2008 Validate A Groupbox To Make Sure Radiobutton Is Checked - VB 2008
May 12, 2010Is there a way to validate a groupbox with a couple radiobuttons in it to make sure that one of the radiobuttons is selected?
Heres why I need this. I need a user to be able to select their class rank out by way of radiobuttons in a groupbox. When they click submit, I need to validate that atleast one of the radiobuttons got selected and if not display a messagebox.
I got one reply early of:

Is there any other ways other then that? Preferrably a more 'dumbed' down way? This is for just an entry level VB class, I would prefer not to use something of that nature if there is another way.
VS 2008 Buttons In Groupbox
Jul 12, 2009I am having a problem doing select case inside my groupbox.I have a bunch of buttons in a groupbox, each button will do a same function only with a different values when clicked.For example, let's say i have 3 buttons in the groupbox for now.[code]The function will display a message in a textbox.My problem here is, the message shown in the textbox will always be Case "C", the last 1. I jumbled the order, anything that's last will appear instead which I think it's because of the For Each. I tried a do while loop but I do not have any conditions i can think of to use for it. I also tried using IFs instead of Select Case but not successful.

VS 2008 Appearance Of A GroupBox Control
Aug 23, 2011I'd like to make a GroupBox have a black line as its boarders , just in the old VB6 , but it seems there isn't any such a property . Look , for example in the picture below : First there is GroupBox control but it can only have a line around it without color . Next , there is a Panel control , but the problem with that is that it can't have a caption set . At the far right side there is Panel control with a Label control placed over it . That's the best way I can think of in order to make something that at least will look like with what I have in mind . However , is there any other way I could do that ?

Apr 4, 2010i have a list of links on a form and when you click one, it will set a specific groupx visible to true in a set position. So I have about 8 groupbopx control on this form. When I drag one out of the way and another in the form in design time, it seems they stay inside one another at times if they overlay. I don't understand this. Then some will not show at runtime depending where they arer left from design time even though I set the position to be in the form. This is completely different from vb6. Why are they staying inside other groupbox controls rather than being independent?
