Loop Through A CSV File?

I'm trying to create a validation program which entails throwing everything in a csv file that i have into array and then looping through it and doing a comparison.
Here is some of my preexisting code which currently finds the name of a file that I want to do a comparison off by basically using a InStrRev function ...

What i would like to do is have this function store everything from my file_names.csv file into an array and just loop through the array to match the appropriate filename to the appropriate file.

Makes the following statement about the code below:
**"The computer evaluates the loop condition in the Do...Loop statment to determine whether the loop instructions should be processed. In this case, the inputsales <> String.Empty condition compares the contenst of the input sales variable to the String.Empty value. As you know the String.Empty value represents a zero length, or empty, string if the inputsales variable is empty, the loop condition evaluates to True and the computer process the loop instructions. *If on the other hand the inputsales variable is not empty, the loop condition evaluates to false and the computer skips over the loop instructions.
Based on the code I think it is the opposite: ...that while the inputsales value is not empty it should evaluate to true and process the loop and if it is empty it should evaluate to false and skip the loop?

what i'm doing is looping through a directory, and opening, only the files that start with the number "6", but ican't figure out, how to read the file names. This code runs perfectly in VB6, and i can get it to run invb 2008, from which i've been trying to convert this?

I want to load a file into this do loop, do i need to write the directory it is in? Also .Net is trying to correct me to write RaiseEvent instead of Load, however when i do this i am told i need an identifier, how do i identify a visual basic form?

i use Independentsoft.Pst to extract appointments from pst file but the problem is that a for loop is going over the entire appointments of the file, which is taking some time in very big files. Ill be very happy if someone could show me a way to do that with no loop or a way to convert the Independentsoft.Pst itemCollection to an array.[code]

I have a loop that copies a file from the internet and writes it to disk (using a WebRequest and Response with a Stream and FileStream).Once in the loop if the internet connection breaks, the loop continues but without downloading any content (even if the internet connection is back up). I cant seem to catch this exception. If i check for a valid internet connection within the loop then the speed to download the file is way too slow

I am writing a VB.NET program and I'm trying to accomplish the following:
Read and loop through a text file line by line
Show the event of the loop on a textbox or label until a button is pressed
The loop will then stop on any number that happened to be at the loop event and when a button is pressed again the loop will continue.

I am creating a button to save text files (Visual Basic 2005 and Windows XP). I made the following loop to give a default name for the file before saving:

'This loop is supposed to name the file "file10.txt", and if such a file exists it is
supposed to name it "file20.txt" then "file30.txt" etc.

However, the app gets unresponsive only after one round in the loop (when the file name is "file20"). The loop gets stuck at the following line:

This line works only once and after that it becomes unresponsive.

I am using a For Each Next type loop to read a records from a datatable and add records to a second table.Under certain circumstances, I add one or more records to the first table that I want to process.The problem is that the added record is not in the original datatable.The For Each...Next loop goes dutifully until the datatable records are processed, but the added record(s) do no get processed.How can I "refresh" the datatable and process the added records? I've wrote a program designed to loop through a text file containing email addresses and unsubscribe said email addresses in our CRM system. I'm having a problem with the following code...

The program is falling over when trying to execute the update commands during the datareader loop, with the fabled 'There is already an open DataReader associated with this Command...' error. This program has evolved as I've found problems/better ways of working, so it might be a case of myself just not using the DataAdapter right - I'm guessing I should be using a function of the open DataReader rather than the ExecuteNonQuery command.

I have an ini File which I use as an "index" of jar files. The Jars are declared in it like:
Name of the jar=c:Path
So when my application starts, the ini file gets loaded in a list view. I have a delete button, with which I want to delete the jars from the list view and the ini file. It must be possible to delete multi choiced jar references. so I thought to do it with for each, so that every selected item get searched in the ini and deleted. The Error is, that the String (is correct, I tested it with a messagebox) get analysed - Unknown escape sequence R (The error is between the ** **)

I have a project where I am looping thru specific files in a directory using a For Each FileInfo in DirectoryInfo.GetFiles() statement. My question is if I overwrite the current FileInfo object, will it still retain the reference to the object even though the file is no longer the same?

I'm using VB.Net's Excel component to read Excel file, but the performance is totally slow, since it has to loop through cells to get values. Reading a file containing one sheet with 1162 rows and 105 columns (which is small size compared to my general requirement) already costs more than 5 minutes.1. I want to ask if any of you have suggestion on reading such an Excel file with better performance, except OleDB, cuz most compies here have vesion problem?2.
