When I run the Java version of this using apache commons and the same setting, the email is sent. However, when I run the VB.NET version of the code, it fails on my local machine and on the client machine.
I have a VB.NET web application running on a server that uses similar code. I tried that code locally and it fails. Yet, the web application is working perfectly.
Why is it that the Java application can send the email, but the .NET application cannot?[code]....
My application using Ms Access DB. when i connect to DB from client machine it show error at conn.open. the error was "you need permission to view its data".If I login to the server, it works perfectly.

I build the project & copied the Release folder to Client Machine.

I'm writing a VB.NET WEB application and I'm fairly new at it. What I want to do is open Excel workbooks on the client workstation so the user can "Save As" or print or basically do whatever they want with it past that point. I've done this in a windows application using System.Diagnostics but all the information I've read so far doesn't seem to work. I can open .txt and .xls files using this approach:[code]but it opens in the browser, which is not what I want. Do I need to mix Javascript with the HTML and the VB code?

View 8 RepliesI am currently creating a vending machine program, designed to simulate a vending machine. However I have come across a rather large error, my stock is 50 at the begging. The person can go though the program and the appropiate amount of stock is taken away from the relavent object, however when I finish and want to go back to the start the last selection is still present.Therefore I have tried setting the variable as 0 when the form opens and when the program starts, but the last selection is still present.Does anyone know of a way to which I can reset this calculation without affecting my stock so I can then repeat my program cycle one or two times each time using the previous stock without reseting back to 50

I have created an application using VB.NET in VS2008. When I run the app in the IDE on my development machine it works fine. It also works fine when I build it and run it as an exe on any machine that also has Visual Studio installed (at least 2005 and 2008 anyway) However, when I try to run the compiled executable on any machine without Visual Studio it throws up an error "[program name] has encountered a problem and will close..."
