I need to have a 32 bit oracle client installed my test PC which is acctually a 64 bit machine.when i try connecting to oracle in my window application in vb.net ,it does not open the connection.

i Use "Imports System.Data.OracleClient .. Private conn As New OracleConnection()" to connect to my Oracle database..but when i put my program to another PC I need install Oracle Client on it...is there some other way how to connect to Oracle DB without installing oracle client to client PC?? (Database is on Server an program is on client´s PCs)

View 6 RepliesI have an application that takes a series of reports and sends them as attachments in an email to a specified group of email accounts.
When I run the Java version of this using apache commons and the same setting, the email is sent. However, when I run the VB.NET version of the code, it fails on my local machine and on the client machine.
I have a VB.NET web application running on a server that uses similar code. I tried that code locally and it fails. Yet, the web application is working perfectly.
Why is it that the Java application can send the email, but the .NET application cannot?[code]....

I am trying to connect a simple VB program (Form, button and label) to my local oracle 10g XE and keep getting errors. The most recent errors is the TNS listener
"Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleException ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified "
Here is what I have done:
Went to control panel > odbc and created a connection to 10g XE and called it:
oraconn (this was from other tutorial so it is not used in code but still resides)
Copied tutorial about connecting to oracle and have the following code:

I build the project & copied the Release folder to Client Machine.
The Application is running well however, when i click the button to see Report i get following error "Could not load file or assembly CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.... The system cannot find the file specified" & the application terminates.
