I have a DataGridView control with 10 columns, some columns that are just informational, populated by my visual basic program. The user is not supposed to be able to change the data in these columns, or even tab or mouse to them. I can set the column ReadOnly property, but the tab and mouse still allow that column to be selected. The last five columns of the grid need to be disabled from tabbing. For example I have 10 columns. When user tabs thru grid to the fifth column I want the focus to go next row, second column.
I have placed a background image on my windows application form and when tab stops to a particular button it's color is changed and looks awkward...Can anyone tell me that how can I set some customized color for tabstop or set its value to null????I've tried the answer from BalaR i.e. button.ShowFocusCues = falase in load event of the form but it says that it can't be used like this and it is protected
In my keydown event handler, I am trapping when an ENTER is pressed and i want to advance to the next tab stop as is it was a TAB presses.I am currently using "SendKeys("{TAB"})" and this works but it is a sloppy way to do buisness, as there may be some typeahead keystrokes in the keyboard buffer.
I have also tried going through the controls collection off the form object, but it is too complicated as i am using containers within containers.Another consideration that TAB processing must be taking into consideration is "what if the tabindex is equal to the current tab stop? what if the next tab stop has tabstop=FALSE or is not enabled or not visible.The sendkeys approach handles all these issues but is a dirty approach and has keyboard buffer event processing quirks.There must be a method off some object somewhere that simply moves the focus to the next tabstop candidate.
I have a form that has 13 groupboxes each with 6 radio buttons in them. I want to be able to tab through the left-most radio button in order. At load time, the left-most radiobutton in the top groupbox is checked. The only way I found to have this load unchecked is by setting it using a timer, but this makes it so that that radiobutton can't be tabbed to at all.

I have a bound DGV that took a bit of work to get its columns set up. I'd like to show a 1-row version of this identical DGV on a second windows form. Is there a way to programatically place a copy on the second form. OK, in it's simpest terms, I have a custom object (all string Items) which I add to a list of those items. The list is declared as a global variable. One form updates the list, another contains a dataGridView (vs.net 3.5) that displays the list items. The view displays the correct data. For some reason, if I select a header in the dgv before it's populated, that's fine, but if I select it (click anywhere with the mouse) it bugs out with an Index = -1 error from the System.Windows.Forms. CurrencyManager.get_Item(Int32 index) bit.

i was thinking. is it possible to bring the rows that we click at datagridview and bring it into another form. which mean i click on a data that are on the datagridview, then it will pop up a form, inside the form, there will be have the data we have click on the datagridview, and we can edit and save at that form. There are some specific issues I am facing after deploying the project to the client machine.
- I have a CMS (ContextMenuStrip) in one of my forms associated with a TreeView and its not showing.
- Another form that contains a custom DataGridView which i created by subclassing default DataGridView is not showing this control.
DETAILS:-
- Everything works fine on my machine
- I BUILD the project in the RELEASE mode
- From the binRelease folder copied the .exe to the client machine in the root, also copied the Reports to the root on client. Is this correct way to deploy?
- Instead of setting the CMS property of the TreeView, I instantiated a CMS in my form, assigned it to CMS property of TreeNodes when TreeNodes are populated programmatically.

I have a user control that contains a search value text box a button, and a datagridview to display what the data adapter found. In the data set designer, I have an ODBC connection to a table, with two SQL queries defined FillByCustomerName(NAME), and FillByCustomerNumber(CUSTOMER_NUMBER). If I preview the data in the designer, I see the data expected. The datagridview doesn't show any data. The functions PopulateGridByName and PopulateGridByNumber do the work. I've tried adding a dgCustomer.show statement, The form that calls the user control has no codebehind code, and throws no errors.

Directly on the form I have a lable ("Customer Names"), a ComboBox (pulling actually names from a database) , and a Buton to add a customer to the database if i choose. Additionally I have ControlTab(3 tabs) that has "fields" and its own Buttons to insert data into a different table. The first 2 tabs have textBoxes, which are completely functional, but the 3rd tab has a "DataGridView"
I'm using Visual Basic Express 2008 in Windows 7(64-Bit). I've added a datasource to my project and dragged a table from Data Sources onto my form. It automatically created a DataViewGrid and placed this statement in my form load event:
The DataGridView shows all the correct fields/columns. The .DataSource property for the DataGridView is set to the automatically created BillsBindingSource. When I preview the BillsTableAdapter, the data appears. But data does not appear when I run the app. The datagridview is empty. When I build the app and run the executable, I get a Microsoft .NET Framework error message that says: "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the applicaiton will close immediately. The 'Microsoft .ACE.OELDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine." If I click "Continue" I get my form with an empty DataGridView. What am I missing to get the data to display in the grid at run time? Oh, and I've also tried using the DataGridView in C# and I get the same problem.
I have a Windows form which contains a DataGridView within a GroupBox which is within a TabPage which is within a TabControl.The scrollbars property is set to 'Both' so that the user can scroll down to see all available rows in the grid.
I want the Windows Form to initialize to allow the user to see 7 rows but to expanded vertically to the size of 32 rows which is the maximum possible in this application.
