Paralell.ForEach Add Items To Source While The Task Is Running?

I am using Parallel.ForEach to do some time consuming operation. Coming to the question ,
For example,
I am enumerating a collection called 'TestCollection' which has 3 items.
Parallel.ForEach(TestCollection, po, AddressOf DoSomeThing) So 3 tasks will be running in paralell at a time Now I want to add another 2 items to TestCollection, while the task is running.
How to enque the additional 2 items to the 'TestCollection' so that additional two tasks will also run in paralell. Finally 5 tasks should run in paralell without stopping the running task. If a post answers your question,

I can't seem to get the syntax right for a simple Parallel.Foreach Loop.
This is how I would normally iterate a SearchResultCollection
Dim src As SearchResultCollection = DSearch.FindAll
For Each x As SearchResult In src
Debug.WriteLine(GetProperty(x, "Name"))
'Parallel.ForEach(x, Function(x) Debug.WriteLine(x))
Next
As I have (obviously) misunderstood it this should be the syntax for the Parallel.Foreach
Parallel.ForEach(src, (Sub(x As SearchResult) GetProperty(x, "Name")))
Parallel.ForEach(src, Function(x) Debug.WriteLine(x))
It's not that though. What's the correct syntax here?

I am developing a solution in .Net utilising the VMWare Web Service API to create new isolated virtualised development environments. The front end will be web based. Requestors input details for the specific environment which will be persisted to SQL. So I need to write an engine of some sort to pull the data from SQL and work on the long running task of creating resource pools, switch port groups and cloning existing VM templates etc. As work progresses, events will be raised to write logs and update info back to SQL. This allows requestors to pull data back into a webpage to see how it's progressing or if it's completed.
The thing I am struggling with is how to engineer the engine which will exec the long running task of creating the environment. I cannot write a windows service (which I would like) as we work in a very secure environment and it's not possible (group policy etc). I could write a web service to execute the tasks, extending the httpRuntime executionTimeout to allow the task to complete. But I'm keen to hear what you guys think may be a better solution to use (based on .Net 3.5). The solution needs to be service oriented as we may be using it on other projects within our org. What about WWF, WCF? I have not used any of the newer technologies available since .Net 2.0 as we've only just been approved to move up from .Net 2.0.

I'm using a BackgroundWorker to perform some analysis on a separate thread. The BackgroundWorker is called when a user clicks a CheckBox.
I need to provide for the user clicking the CheckBox, starting the BackgroundWorker task, and then changing their mind and clicking the CheckBox again.I simply want to cancel the currently running task and set the analysis off again. Currently I have the following method:

I am currently attempting to support a ClickOnce application that i did not write. This application is running from a scheduled task. The scheduled task points to a .application file. This had been running happily untill today when it stopped. The only thing that has changed is that the application has been executed manually by a developer by double clicking on the .application file. Since then each time the scheduled task is scheduled to run the application doesn't appear to execute. The task reports no error and the error code (0x0) given indicates it ran and completed ok.
I am not familiar with ClickOnce and am not sure when implication clicking the .application file would have had or why it has stopped running as a scheduled task. It appears to me that everything else has remained the same (i have checked it is running under the correct account etc).

I cannot get Excel 2010 to close by using VB on my Windows XP computer at work. I have what I thought would be able to close it, but it doesn't. I do not get any errors, it its just that after multiple times of the code running, I have multiple instances of EXCEL.EXE running in the task manager, which causes problems. So I wrote a VB.net project in Visual studio.I have a scheduled task that is set to run the program every morning at 10AM. If I use windows explorer and double click the application, it runs fine.If I open task scheduler, open the task properties, and browse to the application, then choose run, the program fails, due to Runtime exceptions.I know I have the path entered correctly, since I can debug the instance when it crashes from the task scheduler. VS2010 pulls up my source code.The exception is System.IO.FileNotFoundException, remember, it works fine when I double click the app. If attach a debugger to the process after it is executed from the task scheduler, I can then restart the debugger, and Voila!, The application runs fine.

I have a form which has a menu bar. This bar then has sub-menus i.e. the top menu is passwords and the 2 sub menu's are change password and delete password.This works fine when the user selects the menu item by clicking with the mouse

I am having an issue with trying to calculate a running total from items in a listbox. I am getting an InvalidCastException with the btnCalc_Click event. I think I understand why I am getting this exception, just not sure exactly how I fix it.

is it guaranted that a task A started before TaskB will be completed before task B assuming the task do the same level of operatons?or in other words is there a chance that a task B will finish before tast A in the assumption that the task calls the same procedure?

I have a list of links and need to check some data in it.
i placed all the list in a listbox and each item is verified for some result
now i want to see how many items are processed and how many are still need to process
Example: in a label it must display total count of items and items completed and it must change once a item is finished.

I need to be able to add elements to a copy of mylist.testlist without modifying the global mylist object. (Which seems to be happening via the below code.)When I am working on x, which should be a totally separate object, mylist is getting modified as well. How can I fix this? I have worked with lists extensively and never seen this behavior before. I have tested and reproduced the problem in .NET 3.5 and .NET 4.0 on Win 7 Pro 32bit.

My co-worker said that in a previous interview, he learned that foreach is faster in VB.Net than c#'s foreach. He was told that this was because both have different CLR implementation.
Coming from a C++ perspective, I'm curious on why this is and I was told that I need to read up on CLR first. Googling foreach and CLR doesn't help me understand.
Does anyone have a good explanation on why foreach is faster in VB.Net than in c#? Or was my co-worker misinformed?

I have searched high and low for documentation on how to use this feature. While the loop I could write would be simple and take no time, I really would like to learn how to use this. Basically I have a class, say, Widget, with a Save() sub that returns nothing. So:
Dim w as New Widget()
w.Save()
basically saves the widget. Now let's say I have a generic collection List(Of Widget) name widgetList(Of Widget) and I want to run a Save() on each item in that list. It says I can do a
widgetList.ForEach([enter Action(Of T) here])
....but how in the F does this work??? There is no documentation anywhere on the intrablags.
