I've been trying to figure out the easiest way to populate a menu to allow for easy updating in the future. I would like to add anything to a specific folder and when the program runs it would be populated by the contents of the specific folder. Is this possible? What should I look into to do this? Not sure of the process to use to do this, that is if it is even possible.

I can get the form names to be populated in to the menu and can open it my question is how do i set where the menu items will be placed. Eg File with FormHierarch 0 will be the very first one. Exit with FormHierarch 0.1 will be the very first one under File

assist in the proper way to populate a value in a txtbox based on a combobox selection? I basically have a table (tblStudent) that has two fields (Range, Amt). The range records are 1-5,6-10,11-20,21-50, >50. Amt are 0 by default.
four more Tables
(tblPA,tblNY,tblNJ,tbMD) with 2 fields (pctgStud,amount) where prctgStud are
ranges (0, 1-10,11-25,26-50,51-100). Amount are 0 by default.
My form has a 5 simple comboBoxes that allows one of the ranges to be selected for each of them. I also have 5 txtBox relating to the corresponding (Amt) fields. How do I populate the textboxes with the related AMT based on the range selected from the comboBox. On a side note, I want to ultimately increment all the textbox values by one in the tables when submit is clicked.

For this code I am able to populate the first combobox and when I select the specific item in combobox then the second combobox shows only the first element of that item.
In MS access 2007 I have created 2 tables:
1) Contains the device ex:computer
2) Contains the device and its parts ex: cpu, monitor so here the device has duplicate values
Table names are device and parts.
I'm trying to populate textboxes on one form based on a selection on a combobox on another form. All data will be pulling from the same SQL table. I've got the combox to work fine to show the correct data in one of the textboxes by using the lines:

I have a database with table "Customer" that will be the datasource for my form controls. My form has a combobox and various textboxes that need to change based on the selectedvalue in the combobox, cboCustNo. Firstly, I'm try to get the combobox to populate with the customer names on the table but have the value member of the combobox set to their customer numbers (just for ease of indexing). I have been trying to work out how to change the content of a picture box using a context menu. The idea is that the user would have a choice of three images which are saved in the resources file to change the main picture on the form. Is this possible?

I'm making a new design for my website, but I want to keep the old one and possibly switch between the two.
Unfortunately, I've changed the content on the Master Page (luckily I have a backup).What I was thinking was to keep separate master files for each theme, and then just determine which one to server based on which stylesheet is loaded.
The only way I can think to do this is to keep a "settings" file on the website that has a "stylesheet=1/2/3/4/etc" line. Depending on the number there, the server will serve the correct master page.
Alternatively it might be easier to do something similar, but instead of serving a whole different master page, set a specific stylesheet to use.In both cases, I need a little help with actually doing the work on the server. I can read a text file (even encrypt/decrypt a file before and after it gets read for security), but actually giving the server the instructions based on what is read is where I'm lost.
My app pulls news stories from my website and dumps them in a contextmenustrip. I am trying to delete an item from a text file based on if an item appears in a listbox but keep getting an error " Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection." The line it is returning the error on is the the first IF statement of the below text.

I've been working on this RegEx for the past day or so and I think I have it worked out so that it returns the data I want. First a little background.I have a content editor that users will be able to edit web pages. They can format text, add links, etc.. standard content editor stuff. When they click save, the editor provides the ability to get the content (editor.Content) and put it into a string. What I want to do is get any links (<a> tags) and find out if they are internal or external links and if they are PDF files.
Here is the Expression I've come up with:

My question is this... the parts where I 'do some stuff' to the values, what would be the best way to get that back into my 'editorContent' string? I could probably put the editorContent into a StringBuilder and do a whole bunch of replaces on it, but is that very efficient?So, for example, with the PDF, I want to specify that it open in a new window (target="_blank") and for the external URL, add some javascript code into the onclick attribute.

Now I need to transfer the folders u_test1, u_test2, u_test3 and the content of the folders to a ftp server.
I have tried the following code, but with this I can only upload a single file.

i just need to convert the files and have them return complete.there is an invisible richtextbox, which i needed to show files being converted in a past project..now, i need to get rid of that richtextbox if possible. too much extra work for a user's p.c...i am not at all familiar with changing extensions, etc..
I've created a Setup project (in VB.Net 2008 Standard Edition) and I need to deploy some .rtf files in a specific folder for the user to edit. I've added these files to the project as content files but the Setup project installs them in Program File/MyApp along with the exe. As these rtf files need to be found easily by the user I need to specify a different folder on the hard drive. These are not mdb or xls files so are not used by the app itself. All the user needs to do is find them manually loading them into MS Word for editing. I don't need to load MS Word from the app, but I do need to deploy them so the user has access to them. How do I edit the file path so it does not bury them in Common Files or the User App Data or app folder itself? Ideally, since these are rtf files they could go in My Documents. (The app itself will work whether or not these files exist elsewhere.)
View 5 RepliesUnder VB.Net 2005, I created a Setup Project which produced installation files for a windows application. I placed the mdb file in the User's Application Data Folder and remapped the DataDirectory to Environment.SpecialFolder.ApplicationData at runtime. Unfortunately, sometimes the system just did create the mdb file at the Application Directory.
An example was that I installed the program in Windows 7 under a normal user account. I chose inside the installer that the program would be made available to everyone. After installation, the mdb file would be created automatically for the Administrator account but not for the normal user account. For XP, the whole thing worked fine. I am tempted to write a routine to check and create the mdb file if it is not present, but why does this happens and what other opinions do I have?

In the app, there is a label. By default is has "lblID" in it, when when you log in, the 45 goes there (comes from MySQL)
I need to create a new folder on startup, and that folder needs to be named according to that ID number.
The problem I'm running into , is when the application starts, it creates the folder just fine, but it never names it according to the ID. It always names it lblID.
The code to create the folder is in the frmLoad-
