How To Make Sitemap Based Menu With Only Top Level Elements

I'm trying to make a menu based off of an asp.net sitemap. How do you nest the sitemap nodes so that they all appear on the same level. Here is what I have:

<siteMapNode url="~/Default.aspx" title="Home" description="link to Home" />
<siteMapNode url="~/about.aspx" title="About" description="abot" />
</siteMapNode></siteMap>
Here is what the code for the Menu control looks like:

DataSourceID="SiteMapDataSource1"
</asp:Menu>
They both appear as 2nd tier elements underneath an arrow.

I am using asp.net sitemap with the in-built asp.net menu but this is very 'dull'. I want to apply CSS and jQuery to give it a better visual look and feel. I have read various articles based on [URL]

I want to make multi level side strip with some data as shown in figure below:
The first column could be labels (names) read from an array or a variable and the second column could be a value to that label read from a variable or array. The value of the last column will be assinged to the label or in the first column. for example:
Column1 (level1) Column2 (Level2) Column3 (Level3)
Area1 => Value => 5
8
Importance => 9

I am wanting to create a menu based on items in my MS SQL database i have 3 tables
FormTbl
FormID - Int Eg (1)
FormName - nvarchar(50) Eg (Form1)

I can get the form names to be populated in to the menu and can open it my question is how do i set where the menu items will be placed. Eg File with FormHierarch 0 will be the very first one. Exit with FormHierarch 0.1 will be the very first one under File

I have made an app and I want to add it to " open with menu" sub menu which appears when user make right click on any file ie I made photo viewer app and I want to add it to "open with menu" so user when make right click on any photo and go to "open with menu" sub menu will find my app name to chose it to open the photo with it

I have a data table in a loop that adds rows on each loop. During the loop i collect an array of unknown size. At the end of the loop i want to add a new row to the datatable with eachelement of the array as a field.[code]I could hard code this if i knew how many item would be in the array but i dont.Is there any way i can loop through the array and append the value to a row?

How do I make a menu item on a menu strip link to another windows form (like a menu item that links to an about page already created in the project). I know that I can populate a menu using a .INI file but I was wondering if it can be done using an XML file. I would like to be able to add parent and children menu items.

I've been trying to figure out the easiest way to populate a menu to allow for easy updating in the future. I would like to add anything to a specific folder and when the program runs it would be populated by the contents of the specific folder. Is this possible? What should I look into to do this? Not sure of the process to use to do this, that is if it is even possible.

I am having an issue with the sitemap control, I have added the hierarchical levels within the web.sitemap file and added the sitemap control to the various masterpages. I have however two homepages which can be viewed depending on the user of the system.
Is there any way to define two sitemap structures within this web.sitemap file or can I just create another sitemap file?

I have been trying to open the following XML file in VB.NET using the Linq library.

The code that I'm using works with normal XML files, but whenever I add the xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9" attribute to the root node, nothing is getting returned by the application. Here is the VB.NET code that is reading the XML file:

I'm just taking over an asp.net/vb site, and I'm definitely still learning. I'm receiving the following error:
BC30451: 'ByOwner' is not declared. It may be inaccessible due to its protection level.
I call a datasource with:

The problem: A dialog's FormClosing() event is raised if it's a child, ie it's Owner property is set to the parent form, but NOT if it's a child-of-a-child. So closing the main form does not call the closing event on any grandchildren dialogs.
The Details: A dialog prompts to "Save Changes?", with YesNoCancel buttons, in the FormClosing() event. Clicking Cancel keeps the dialog open, ie cancel closing.

Then the FormClosing() event on the child does not raise, if the top-most parent is closed.

On our site, we have our sitemap in this order:
SiteName > SelectedProject > Path > To > Page
Where SiteName takes you to the very root page which is primarily to select a project and SelectedProject takes you to the project's homepage.Currently, in the Web.sitemap file, SelectedProject has a static name. How can I rename it to the name of the selected project, which can be obtained from Session("PRJ")? I'd strongly prefer any code behind to be given in VB.NET, not C#.

i have a custom SiteMapProvider which I populate from a database. I also have a custom SiteMapNode which has to be constructed with a custom Page argument.[code]Should I return false in AuthorizeCore() to have everything work according to default authorization protocols? (What are these?) Or should I throw my exception.SiteMap.CurrentNode is Null / Nothing (in AuthorizeCore()) if the page which is requested is not accessible to the user (obviously). How should I change my implementation? I want to keep the functionality that the Page objects are only loaded once, so I need to store them somewhere.

I created a method and pass the element type, id, and any inner text that instantiates a new html element. The last statement: Me.Controls.Add(element) adds it to the end of the page, but I would like it to be inserted in a specific position (between 2 divs within a form). i created the following ActionFilterAttribute to check if a user is granted access to a page. I also created two custom Exceptions to handle different scenarios: NotLoggedInException and InsufficientPrivilegeException.

Where do I catch the exceptions to for instance redirect users if not authorized?Should I perhaps use the SiteMap authorization somewhere else instead of using the ActionFilterAttribute and throwing Exceptions..?
note: as you can see I'm using a custom class for BLL.Page. This is a ORM page which has Role based security stored in the database. SiteMap is also populated based on this data
