Editing Row Of A Datagrid In ASP.Net?
Jan 12, 2010I'm working on a piece of code at the moment that uses an older style DataGrid to allow the user to enter information into the table. It already has an add and delete button. Currently the user enters information into 3 textboxes that are in the footer, and the other rows use labels to display the information.
Essentially what I am wanting to do is take the line that the user has clicked the edit button on, and move the text from there in to the footer (deleteing the row that it was displayed on) so the user can make changes and then click the add button again. At the moment I have tried using FindControls to find the textbox and setting the text that way but it doesnt like it.

Nov 24, 2010So Let me explain the situation, I have a Mainpage Form with a DataGrid Object on it. I have a Create Post Form and I want to use the create post form to also edit a post. Now only individuals who posted a specific post can edit it. I have all the validation code in to check the user etc. I used a simple boolean and then in the create post form created two subroutines, Newpost and Editpost. I have the New Post working perfectly, but i can't get the edit post to work.

Aug 10, 2009I have a datagrid in my VB form. I want to lock in a way that you can not mark any cells in the tables etc.
When I set it to read only I stop the edit function but you can still mark the cells with a cursor. Is it a way to avoid that from happening?

Aug 10, 2010I am making a application that has the ability to edit values on a access database table. As a simple example, My table looks something like this:
Order Number Completed
2000 No
2001 No
2002 No
The application needs to edit the Completed columns. I have 1 text box, and 1 button in my form. You enter the Oder Number in the textbox and press the button. The VB application then needs to change the Completed to Yes in the database. Example, I type in 2002 in the textbox and press a button. The application changes Completed to Yes for this order number in the access database and saves/updates the database.

Jul 21, 2011I have a system where I would like to show a warning to a user if there try and edit a record that is currently been edited. If this is the case the user will not be able to save the record but only view it.I have an idea of using some kind of class to monitor the activity of records been edited etc but this seams a little over kill. My other concern is that what if the browser crashes or there shut their computer down on how this will effect the state of the page.
Another thought was to use last updated time stamp but this also looks a no go because the way records are been updated? how I could implement something like this. No code is necessary.based on the comments I have added these additional details.database is SQL server 2008 asp.net 3.5 one record could be many parts of the database for instance, the booking table session table and a row in the interrupter table.the user will look at a list of sessions that need booking select a booking and fill out a booking form to make the booking. Want to stop is someone else trying to do the same booking at the same time or while someone else is doing the booking.

What's the best way to do this taking into consideration: A column of type date in hh:mm format will not edit. At the moment this column won't display the new edit and if I attempt to enter and display a string instead of a hh:mm rime format, I get an error)I need to provide validation for the value that is entered.There are loads of events for DGV cells

Jun 28, 2010I would like to develop a structure to maintain my user's text input somehow on each form to allow user to return to the form and see the prior input for potential editing. My app has four forms which accept user input and form a string for output to printer. In the eventuality that the user notes a mistake in the input after leaving the app, I would like to develop a structure to "save" the user input at the form level and allow for repopulating the text boxes with the prior user input. Make sense? I have no idea how accomplish that functionality. Maybe it's too complex for my purposes. What do the pros think?

Mar 23, 2009I have a DEM file(Digital Elevattion Model File) and I am trying to open the file,where we have Latitude and Longitude values inside the DEM file.And, Now I have opened the file using Filestream and Read the file using BinaryReader.But, I am having a trobule in getting the values of Latitude and Longitude.I am getting Byte values randomly as 1,202,31,271 etc.But, we dont have latitude and longitude values more than 180,and also I am not getting 16 bit UInt values.For example, the values should be like Latitude 20.00416666666667 and Longitude 39.99583333333333.So,read the correct Byte values of the DEM file.The code I have used till now is:

Jul 25, 2011I have a oracle database. I use the OracleDataAdapter(Oracle.DataAccess.dll) for select, update, insert, delete operations. I don't set any (table) locks on my own(I only start a transaction). I have a oracle table named "test" with the entry "test1".
Now my question: Can Person A read the entry "test1" while Person B is updating/deleting the entry at the exact same time? What happens in the worst case? An old match/empty match or can it cause any kind of exception/error(e.g. "TableLocked-Exception")?
URL Editing - Imported A Number Of Web Elements That Are Called "reference Values" From A Website
Apr 24, 2011I have imported a number of web elements that are called "reference values" from a website. These are added to the end of a website to navigate to a corresponding page. I am going to go to said website individually for each "reference value" and scrape code for use in a scheduling programming. How should i navigate to each of these websites when the url cannot be edited. The "reference values" are currently stored in an array but this does not seem like the correct method.
