Searching TXT File And Getting Data When Clicking In ListBox

I will include a link to a copy of my source Code. The Problem is that I have to create a user management system. I have almost all my features working but there are one or two I can't get working. When the program loads a text file is read and the program lists the first name of everyone in the text file into a list box. I want to be able to get so that when you click a name in the list box, the persons information will be displayed in the text boxes to the left. And also when you edit those text boxes you can click the button for modify current and it will modify that persons data. The other problem I'm having is being able to search that text file for the users e-mail and return the first names of people who have that e-mail into the listbox.

I need to open an excel file from vb.net and then search it for specific data. I then need to take those data and insert them into text boxes on a form that i have created. This is all controlled by a button click. I already have some code that will open a file dialog box and let me navigate to the correct file, but I am having trouble with the search portion. I have tried the Find function but I am not sure of the proper syntax. I am using Visual Studio 2008 and Excel 2003.

Im working on a program that will display a price when an item number is entered in the search box. I have the information in a text file for the program to find it but am unable. I have successfully made it so the items show up in a list box and will show the price when clicked on, but cant get the other one to work.

I have been scratching my head for a while on this, but not sure if it can even be done. Basically I tried the listbox_doubleclick event but that did not suffice. I am looking for something to use that can run my code when an item in the list is double clicked.It works with the listbox_doubleclick as should, but the problem with this is if I double click the listbox anywhere, it will run the code for the selected item.

I have a TextBox where a user enters a search:
The Sopranos Season 5 Since ListBox.FindString() wants a String and not a RegEx, I can't use a Regular Expression. (right?) So, if TextBox.Text = "The Sopranos Season 5", then ListBox.FindString(TextBox.Text) will not find my entry with "The Sopranos (Season 5) Boxset (DVD)".

I know the sort of a thread is already here, but I have a different question. I have ListBox1 and TextBox1 and the Items of ListBox1 are:California
Chicago Washington and as I start typing the text into the TextBox1 (TextBox1_TextChanged), then it will select the first Item in ListBox1,that is closest to the text in TextBox1:
For example:
If I type "A" to the TextBox1, it will select California (California)
If I type "C" to the TextBox1, it will select again California (California)
If I type "CH" to the TextBox1, it will select the Chicago (Chicago)
AND!!! If I type "SH" to the TextBox1, it will select the Washington (Washington)
so it won't only search the first letters, but it will even search the letters in the middle of the text, too.

I have a code to search for specified text in all listbox items. Here it is:

This works fine. But if I have search for this:

I wont find this:

Is there any way to search for text of any casing, and if so how can I adapt my code to do this.

We have a rather large VB.NET accounting application that crashes occasionally for some customers. I have now been able to reproduce this particular almost 100% in my test nvironment using certain data. The crash happens when clicking a list box after printing a report. The form involved has a list box listing available reports. You select one or more reports from the list box and click the print button. After printing, if you click the list box again, the program crashes, with an exception that does not seem like one VB.NET should even be able to produce.The exception message is: "Attempted to read or write protected memory. I have a .txt file that I need to be able to search from a text box, and then display the results in a listbox. Each line is formatted as the following.Jim Wells,1/12/85,3,999-555-4562ith the textbox I need to search the file for the third value (in this case the 3). But I need to search all lines of the file, and any line that has a 3 or whatever number is searched in the textbox needs to be displayed in the listbox in this format.

I need to write data from a list box to an lsv text file. I can do that if I rea an entire line at a time and write it out, but the data in the listbox are columnated.For example:Cey,Ron 50 75 75 66.67would be an entire line from the listbox. It was entered into the listbox by reading an lsv text file and using format string to set up column info, but I don't know how to read it back out by column, only by entire line.

In my program i have a listbox populated with data from a sequential text file. [code] Mary, Murphy, 16, 893782, Douglas etc.From here the user selects the person they wish to see displayed in the datagrid with all all other relevant details from the text file displaying. I have copied the instructions and the files I have been given.
1 List all of the data from Teams.txt in a Listbox. Include suitable headings.
2 List all of the data from Results.txt in the Listbox (use the same Listbox as in 1 above). Include suitable headings. Note that you cannot assume that the file contains only results for the first 3 weeks of the season. Your program should be able to process a results file with more or fewer results.
3 List all of the data from Results.txt in the Listbox. However, in this case the actual team names should be output (your program will need to get this data from Teams.txt. The data should be formatted so that it is aligned correctly. Include suitable headings.
