Sending Irc Commands From Multiple Forms & Classes?
Feb 13, 2012
while making my irc bot i need to send many different irc commands such as join channel, change mode, kick user message, topic channel message and so on. All these commands are currently process individually in a public sub on the irc connection thread.
Public Sub Write(ByVal command As String)
_streamWriter.WriteLine(command)
_streamWriter.Flush()
[Code]....
Would you have a load of public sub's to handle each or maybe something else?
I am creating an application to configure some modems through the serial port. I have no problem sending a single string of data to the serial port and displaying the immediate response to a rich text box. I have 2 problems
1st: how to update the rich text box for any delayed response from the modem
2nd: how to react to the response from the modem, in other words I want to send the next command based on the response from the modem witch is usually "OK"
This is what my code looks like currently to send ans receive data from the serial port. (sport1 is my serial port and display is my rich text box)
sPort1.Write("AT+WOPEN=1" + Environment.NewLine) With Display .AppendText(sPort1.ReadExisting())
I'm a long-time developer but semi-new to Visual Studio .NET and VB.NET. I've been working on an application for months, written in Visual Basic .NET. It's a rewrite of a popular IDE of mine that's originally written in assembly. What I'm trying to do in VB.NET is have multiple TabPage classes that inherit from TabPage, ofcourse, but each having it's own methods for common functions like Cut, Copy, Paste, etc. so that when I call tab.Cut(), the TabPage class for the currently-selected tab is the one used. In each custom TabPage class, I'll have a New instance of the main control that goes in that tab.
I think there would be a problem when I loop through the TabPages since the Foreach routine can only use one object type, as far as I know (TabPage).Currently I have only one custom TabPage class called Page that obviously inherits from TabPage, has additional properties and also methods that allow editing functions for whatever control is selected to be displayed for the tab. For example, when I call the New constructor, I supply the editor type as a parameter: dim tab as New Page(HEX_EDITOR).I have edit controls such as text, syntax editor, hex editor, bitmap editor, HTML editor, HTML browser. This means I get a new instance of all of those controls each time a new Page is added to the TabControl. I'm currently disposing of the unneeded editors depending on which editor is the one needed. The scheme is not preferred but it works great for now as I work on other areas of the IDE.
I am in college taking computer programming and we are now in multiple classes and forms. It was very hard to get ahold of at first but now that I understand it a bit better I am curious as to how often in a professional enviornment do developers create multiple classes for a project? Besides the use of custom functions what else is beneficial for it?
I am writing a windows gui front-end for a game that uses 6 open cmd console windows. The cmd windows are already open, I do not need to launch them, I just need to be able to send a command to a named cmd window by pressing a button on my Visual Basic 2005 Express form.
I'm writing a program in VB.NET 2010 that will connect to the PICkit(TM) 1 FLASH Starter Kit's USB programmer and send it commands to turn on or off something connected to the attached eLab16m board, for example, an LED. This is all done by using the libhid.net DLL. The vendor id is &H4D8 and the product id is &H32.
Update I've written a console program that outputs what's happening. Here's the output:Where it says device with report id 0x10, I am trying to query the firmware version from the USB Programmer.Update 2 I've fixed the problem with the Wacom Bamboo tablet by uninstalling its software and drivers from my computer. The error has disappeared from the command line, but it still shows the 0x10 error.
What I need to be able to do is send a command across a specific network port (eg. 2124) to a specific ip address. I already have writen the recieving code (for the iPhone os) and accepts commands like:
filefound("Name of file",filetype,size)
All this is to be sent in plain text and once received the iPhone will then send a command like:
i need help on that. My app is able to debug and execute successfully. But the problem is after i click on the send button, a msg box shows message successfully sent. However the recipient did not receive the msg at all. This is the code below:
I need to build an forms app that 'posts' or 'sends' text commands to an external console process, called Minecraft Server It is a java-based process, filename 'minecraft_server.jar'. Run by my computer via 'java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui'. The Process ID I assume would change each time it's run. This process can be downloaded here: [URL]
I am guessing that I need to:
1) find the Process ID for it, based on its process details, such as Command Line
2) figure out a way to 'post' these commands, commands such as "stop" into the console window
I cannot have this process launched by my VB project.
Need some advice on class design. I've just started to use xxxService classes, so not really sure when and how to use them. A number of (identical) client applications connect to this program with socket TcpClient. Different type of messages needs to be sent from several different classes. Should I call a service class, with static methods, whenever I need to send some message (like code below suggests), or should I rather raise an event, and have some class registered to those events, that will format and send the messages.
That would kind of hide that sequence of events from these classes, but on the other hand, it would be a centralized class where one can see easily all events that trigger a message send. Which feels like a benefit. Would like to hear some advice on this. And if my last suggestion makes sense, what could such class be called, and would it be considered a ..Service class?
Example: (code is a bit "rough") Class UserConnection tcpClient As TcpClient Public Sub SendMsg(msg as String)
Lets say i have this in a shell "chdir * && whoami.exe >> $$$"I have this replacecommand dim ReplaceCommand as String = sCommand.Replace("*", UserDirect)I also would like the $$$ to be replaced with a user chosen filepath.I can get the file path chosen but it never puts it into the shell.[code]
I have this which is exporting the SDK info to a txt file. I would also like to export the processes that are running to the same text file.
Dim sdkCommand As String sdkCommand = "C:WindowsSystem32Java.exe -version 2> C:UsersJavaSDKInfo.txt" Shell("cmd.exe /c" & sdkCommand) End Sub
If I try adding this to it, I am only able to still see the output from sdkCommand, but nothing about the tasks that are running. I am assuming I need to combine the shell statements?
I am making a program which will read data from csv and pick up Username & Computer name from the csv.
Then it will run commands via telnet with those username and computer on line at a time. I have reached this goal without any problem. I wanted to paste the code here but its too much.
Basically what i now want to do is have a option for user to skip a command.
Like if csv have 3 users in it. i.e.
j.doe, comp1 t.test, comp2 u.user, comp3
Popup will come and say do you want to run the command "add user j.doe, comp1" something and you will have option to say Yes, No , Cancel.
Where yes will run the command and no will skip that user (go to next one) and cancel will end the whole process.
I know Msgbox yes,no is there but i dont know how to skip that user.
Following is the code which migh
vb Dim objCmdSelect As New OleDbCommand("SELECT * FROM " & fileNam & "", objConn) For i = 0 To objDataset1.Tables(0).Rows.Count - 1
I need a coding to execute multiple at commands simultaneously. when first command execute and get the response from the port and then the second command will be executed. how to write the coding. it is possible. i am using siemens gsm modem.
[Code]...
when i execute this coding i can't get the correct result because the port response will take some times.how can i identify the time delay. when i use thread.sleep(300) means this is also not correct for my solution. Because the port response will take more than 300 milliseconds?
I understand running the command shell as a process, How would i run multiple arguments in that one process? For example, here's a process to do a netstat.[code]How would I do that with the following commands? I'd like to click one button and have these all run one after the other.[code]
Try Dim s As New IO.StreamReader("C: est.txt") For i As Integer = 1 To 4 s.ReadLine()
[code]....
this only reads one line and proceeds with command.. how can i fix this to be able to read multiple lines, like read line 7, do command, read line 9, do command, etc..so much work to do and so many choices to choose from...
I am working on a "de-bugging" back-end sorta thingy for my program, and I have a "dll" that executes most of the work for the program. For the ease of tech-support, I plan on trying to impliment a hidden back-door into the engine that is password protected and activated by a key-press. What I want to do is:when the enter key is pressed, have the dll run the sub that is listed in the enter key, for example:
In the dll: Public Sub msg(ByVal text as string) MsgBox(text)
I want to have a counter that measures when a mouse enters/leaves a form. To that extent I used the .mouseenter/.mouseleave commands. This works to an extent. The problem is that moving the mouse over any controls inside a form count as existing it- I don't want this. Is there a way to define the controls as a part of the form? Meaning- if the mouse was over one of my labels- it would count as being within the form. A less elegant way to measure form access could be to use the form positioning, and define capture any mouse movement within it.
I downloaded a .net component that I would like to make consumable by COM clients. This component allows one to create a DXF file (Cad drawing). The problem is that the component is composed of quite a few class files, some inherit another. All the examples I found only show one file no namespaces etc. [Code]
The problem is that, when it checks that the AbsoluteUri ends with profile it should skip the other 3 commands and make another command (To enable the timer2 at the same time) Is this possible to make this? if yes how?
I am wondering the best way to store an object in memory that is used in a lot of classes throughout an application. We have multiple databases, 1 per customer. We also have a master table and each row is detailed information about the databases such as database name, server IP it's located and a few config settings.
I have an application that loops through those multiple databases and runs some updates on them. The settings I mentioned above are updated each loop iteration into memory. The application then runs through series of processes that include multiple classes using this data. The data never changes during the processes, only during the loop iteration.
The variables are related to a customer, so I have them stored in a customer class. I suppose I could make all of the members shared or should I use a singleton for the customer class? I've never actually used a singleton, only read they are good in this type of situation. Are there better solutions to this type of scenario? Also, I could have plans for this application to be multithreaded later.
I have one class with <Serialize> attribute called Tree. And Tree class has an arraylist of TreeNode classes. Is it possible to use Soap to convert the Tree class and arraylist of TreeNode classes to one xml file or binary file? If it is possible, do i need to use <Serialize> attribute on TreeNode classes too? If not, what should i do then?
