I got a string array & I need to show the contents of it to a single label. It acts like a clock. The thing is I tried with everything I could but I failed. This is the code I've been trying. Its in vb.net. And theres a thread running to slow down the loop so I can display the contents in a label for 2 seconds.
Dim j As Integer
For j = 0 To readText.Length
label.text=readText(j)
Thread.Sleep(2000)
Next
I have this: Dim split As String() = temp_string.Split(",") ''#feed all info into global variables patient_id = split(0) doc_name = split(1) lot__no = split(2) patient_name = split(3) How do I clear all the contents of split() ?
i have an array of booleans whose current boolean values I want to preserve but add additional length to the array? How can I achieve that? My code looks like this:
Dim Array() As Boolean Dim ArrayInterimShort() As Boolean ReDim Array(119)
I am trying to create a code where I placed sets of numbers in an array.I'll use a masktextbox to have the user enter the numbers to match what's in the array. If the user enters the number, ex: social, and the data is correct (matches the numbers in the array), something happens if the number entered in the masktextbox does not match any of the number sets in an array then another thing happens.The masktextbox so far only validates format and gets number only, however, I want the number entered to match whats in the array.
I have been dynamically adding user controls to my panel. This user control has a height of 105. If I have my FlowLayoutPanelwidth to only show 1 "column" of controls, it will only display 296 of them. The rest of the controls are grayed out at the bottom of the flowlayoutpanel. If I widen the flp to allow 2 "columns" of controls, I can see 592 of them, with the remainder grayed out at the bottom. I have gone in and resized the user control to make it shorter in height, which works in some respects (i.e. it works when I have two columns, but not just 1), and can go forward with this work-around.
So, I guess my question is, why does the FlowLayoutPanel behave in this fashion? It seems (based on what I saw) that there is a limit to how much data the FLP will show at one time.
using the code below to save and reload the contents (text and images) of a Listview to a single file. The images are about 100x100 pixels.The problem is that if I save the images as JPG (they are already JPG when adding them to the ImageList/Listview), then after saving and reloading the data a dozen times, the images get distorted. When saving/reloading the images as PNG a dozen times, white spots starts to appear on the images. I guess this is because the images are converted over and over again when saving them.Is there a better to way save the contents of the Listview to a single file? I do not want to save the text and images seperately, because then the user has more to tamper with.
vb.net <Serializable()> Structure TB_INFO Public stdPic() As Byte
I can't claim credit for this code but I think it's cool. It will show the entire contents of an item in a tooltip even when the columns are truncating it. Drop a tooltip and listview container on your form with the default name.
Public Class Form1 Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load ListView1.Clear() ListView1.View = View.Details [Code] .....
I have a single form with a datagridview on it showing values from an oracle database. I am trying to set up a way of detecting if the row/column I click on is empty or not, just as a little exercise. I have so far got this:
Private Sub DataGridView1_CellClick(ByVal sender As Object, _ ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellEventArgs) _ Handles DataGridView1.CellClick Dim c, r As Integer c = e.ColumnIndex r = e.RowIndex [Code] .....
The message going into lbl2 shows the co-ordinate values of any box I click in but as you can see with the IF statement below I am trying to see if the system can detect whenever I click in a value that is empty (null or ''). When I run my form and populate the list with a column of names I can click in 0, 0 cell and I get a message saying the 'Box is not empty' as above.
But when I click in any of the next boxes e.g. (1,0) (2,0) etc I get this: 'Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index'
Pointing to this line of If Not DataGridView1.Item(r, c).Value Is Nothing Then Not sure what this means at all. I am under the impression that my piece of code is gathering the value of the item depending on the co-ordinate values. so why should this fail? What index/collection is VB talking about?
i'm having some trouble with most likely the simplest of reg ex i'm trying to get thew contents of a form: <form action='I NEED TO RETRIEVE THIS DATA' id="questionaire" method="POST"> i need to retrieve the contents of the action which is between 2 ; (single quotes rather than doubles) i have:
Dim regexSource As New Regex("(?<=action=.*?"").*?(?="")", _ RegexOptions.IgnoreCase Or RegexOptions.Singleline) Dim regexSourceMatches As MatchCollection = regexSource.Matches(HTMLResponse)
Can this be rewritten any better using LINQ? I'm a C#er trying to think in VB.NET for this current project. It's in an ASP.NET Web Forms .vb codebehind:
Public ReadOnly Property AllowedCategoryIds As Integer() Get Dim ids = New List(Of Integer)
I have several buttons in my form and they each need to add, subtract, divide and multiply certain values together but I seem to be having problems with this. I didn't expect anything to go wrong and its probably a rookie mistake, but take my first calculation for example; a user must enter a value in a textbox (txtDays) and and also when one of my various radio buttons are pressed a value shows in a label (lblDailyHireCharge). I now need a way of multiplying these values to give me my answer shown in a label. I have done this by adding a button when which pressed multiplies the txtDays value with the lblDailyHireCharge and then shows it in the label, however it keeps on showing "0" when i click it.
Below is my code, I am basically saying that the value of both of those figures is intDuration and that lblDuration is where I want it to go when the button is clicked. Private Sub btnDuration_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnDuration.Click Dim intdays As Integer Dim intDailyHireCharge As Integer Dim intDuration As Integer [Code] .....
I am trying to add a little functionality to my textboxes by making a label show when the values of the textbox are greater than a certain amount. The method is working, but only works on certain values (between >8 and 10) and I can't figure out why it won't work on values greater than 10.
Private Sub Submit1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Submit1.Click Dim sum As Double Try If hrs1.Text <> "" Then [Code] ..... I've also set the visibility of the labels to false in the onload event of the form.
In a project I am doing, I was hoping to show a listbox at the bottom of a label when I click the label so a number can be selected. I don't want to use a combobox or numericupdown because of the look. The problem I have, and I hope can be resolved is that when the listbox is shown, it is drawn under the other controls. Is it possible to show it over the others?
i am developing a web browser in vb.net as my final year project.currently working on displaying browsing history in labels contained in a panel . i have coded label array dynamic in size , using redim stmnt in some method say abc () . now i want to handle event generaten on clicking these label .but i have no idea how to do it .

I have Access 2007 db in which users insert some data (name, last name etc.). This db is for some problems in my work and every of this records needs some solution. When we solve this problem we come back to this record and select YES in yes/no field of db.I want to count inserted records and show it on first form of my application like this (label or text field, it is not important) :
* all records : 124 * solved records : 50 * not solved records : 74
It takes about a minute or 2 to run updatedata as it is doing multiple things to a database - when I execute this code, it stalls and loads the data, then when done I do get my label that says loading complete, but I never see the label before it is done loading to tell the user that it is processing. Is there any way to force it to show before UpdateData() is called so that it shows during the load time?
Im trying to make a Basic Program with a Progress Bar. Showing Visual Representation of a Percentage. I would like the Percentage to be shown as a decimal value as well. [Code] But since i do not know how to show decimal places i can not get this to create the correct value thus having a pointless progress bar and label. [Code]
I made a simple textbox with a submit button and a label and when you type in something into the textbox and hit the submit button what ever you typed in the submit button is suppose to show up in the label box but i type in DaFallenAngel in it and it only shows D why is it only showing D and not the full name? [code]
I need to add the contents (integers) of two textboxes and display the result in a label. I've been trying like this within a button click event: Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click TextBox1.Text + TextBox2.Text = Label.Text End Sub But it doesn't compile, and I dont know why. I've used arithmetic operators before, but now I'm just confused.
I have a column in a table that contains a message and I want this message to be displayed in a label. Here is my code which currently doesn't populate the label.
Protected conString As String = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings("sqldirectory") Dim cnn As New SqlConnection(conString) Dim cmd As New SqlCommand("select message from [database].[dbo].[table]")
I have a listview with three columns: Employee ID, Firstname and Lastname. When the user selects a row in the listview, I would like to have the Firstname and Lastname for the selection chosen to be output to a label. I know how to select a single item from the listview and output it as text. How do I output two items from the listview to a single label? Firstname listview item is: EmployeeListViewSelectedItem(0).SubItems(1) and Lastname is SubItem(2)
How do I show timer countdown to a text label in form? I have the following code set up:

I have been assigned a task to create a basic hangman program and I need help to figure out how to show the letters that the user has guessed correctly without displaying any of the other Characters.The word that the user will be guessing is in a label the user will be guessing letters by clicking buttons This is a piece of the code for one of the buttons the user can click to guess the letter "C":
btnc.Visible = False Guessletter = "C" If lblword.Text.Contains("C") Then *this is the part where I become stuck* End If
