Submit Page Check Fields Name Being Submitted / Examine Response

Nov 5, 2011

I need to get data from a web application. I dont have access to database or the source of the app(.net).The web app works like this -- enter values in fields, click submit button, and the data associated with these fields are returned in a modal popup. I need to do the same programatically, without actually opening the browser.I need to know the name of the fields that need to be posted, and the URL. And then store the response.

SendKeys.SendWait("{TAB}")
SendKeys.SendWait("{TAB}")

Use Enter To Submit Twice On Same Page?

Mar 4, 2010

I'm adding a extra functionality to an existing program. Its a Login page to manage the time a user came in and out. So first a login is asked, then (on the same page) a list with the login times are shown. The same button is used (just relabelled) for the login and time in/out.

The problem exist when users want to use enter to login and time in/out. So quickly press enter twice. No problems with the login. But the second page wont recognize the enter. even when I capture the keypress with JavaScript nothing happens. I have to click the form (or a object in the form) so the enter would work.

.net - Post-Redirect-Get (PRG) Summary Page On Submit?

Mar 19, 2012

So I read up on this method called PRG as a way of addressing the form double-submit issue. However, I have yet to find a descent implementation of the Summary Page / Success Message displayed to the user. The only way I can think of is storing a session variable, but I don't want it to persist on multiple refreshes. It should show the message/summary once, and be done. Furthermore, it would be ideal if the user could not return to the previously submitted page.

[Code]...

The question is, how to display this message on the redirect which directly results from the submit, and preferably not for any further refreshes? Or just simply display the message regardless of refreshes, whatever is easiest and makes the most sense.

Enter Triggers Submit On Master Page?

Jun 24, 2011

In my master page there is a submit button for the site search. On most pages this is only triggered if enter is hit whilst the search box has focus. On a couple of pages though hitting enter on the main form it triggers the search submit. I know that I could fix this by enclosing the search in it's own form tag and then changing every page to have it's own form tag, but I need something that is a lot simpler as a fix as I'm low on time. Is there a way I can tie the text boxes in the form to the correct submit button?

C# - Why Does Response.Redirect Sometimes Pull Page From Cache

Jan 18, 2010

I've noticed that when I Response.Redirect to an .aspx page, it sometimes displays a cached page instead of actually executing the page and pulling fresh data from the database. I'm not using output caching or anything special in .Net here -- this is a CRM, and the caching is either happening on the client or, perhaps more likely, automatically in IIS. There is never a querystring involved, by the way. I'm passing a key via session. I know that if I used the querystring it would probably partially bypass the cache problem, but it's not an option in this case.

I did a little digging, and some people get around this by using Server.Transfer (which actually behaves differently than Response.Redirect and some of the details are not always desirable), and some other people said to set Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache) on the page where I want to avoid caching. I thought .aspx pages were always flagged to avoid caching. Right?

Direct Instruction For RESPONSE.REDIRECT To Go To Previous Page?

Jun 20, 2011

I have a Web application (Help Desk Ticket System) with an inbox to monitor incoming requests and made some filter buttons that help the user arrange the requests based on requester name, creation date, etc.

Every filter will simply call the same page but will add some code to the query string. Example, if the user presses a button labeled [Sort by Date] here is the code behind for that button:

[Code]...

But I know that Response.Redirect does not accept javascript, and I don't want to split the code between Code Behind file, and ASPX file (adding OnClientClick attribute) because I will need to perform both VB instructions and also redirecting the user.

C# - Check If HttpContext.Current.Response Have An Existing Header?

Jun 19, 2012

I was working on a scenario where I have to add header to the Response Header.

I added a Response Header like this:- HttpContext.Current.Response.AddHeader("key1", "value1")

After some functional flow I required to add value to same "key1": HttpContext.Current.Reponse.AddHeader("key1, "value2")

thus value in Response Headers look like this:- key1 : value1, value2

I want to avoid the value2 addition to the same keyword key1.

I tried:-

If HttpContext.Current.Response.Headers("key1") Then
HttpContext.Current.Reponse.AddHeader("key1, "value2")
EndIf

But I got the error: This operation requires IIS integrated pipeline mode at HttpContext.Current.Response.Headers("key1")

I have IIS6 running. This [URL] says that it doestn't works if its not IIS7

Asp.net - FormView Or Not - Page With A Wizard Control Containing Several Pages Of Form Fields

May 20, 2011

I have an ASP.NET page with a Wizard control containing several pages of form fields. The data is collected and inserted to a database from the code behind page. I need to set this form up so you can not only insert, but edit a record as well. Since the form is long and complex, I would rather use the existing one and not make a duplicate one for editing, especially since I want to keep both forms exactly the same and any edits would have to be made to both. But it looks like this is what I need to do if I'm going to databind it. But this would also involve putting the Wizard inside of a FormView, and then I'd have to use FindControl to access any of the fields which would mean altering all my already-existing code (which of course would be time-consuming). So should I manually enter all the values from the code behind instead of databinding it? Which is better, to use a FormView and have duplicate forms (plus have to go in and redo the way I access the fields), or to do everything from the code behind?
