I had my laptop stolen and had to download a trial version of microsoft word 2010. the file extension says it is WordApplication.odt. I am using Visual Basic 2010 and had the application converted from a visual basic 2008. The Imports Word = Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word .Net Reference file, but I thing the trial version of Microsoft Word has a different file extension.
We have an interactive windows based application written in VB .Net 2010. It uses Word Object to display documents in MS Word. We have a form with a button. When the button is clicked we open the Word document and maximize the Word Windowstate. When we have the Visual Studio Tool running, the Word Document is maximized and has focus, even if we are running the exe from the bin folder outside of the tool. However, if Visual Studio is not running and we run the exe, focus remains on the original form window and the document stays in the task bar.
I have developed an application on my phone to manage my money. I would like to create an application on my pc to get the local database from my winphone to be able to display informations... and have a backup. I would also like to be able to restore my data back to my winphone if there is a crash.
I have developed a WinForm Application with VB.Net (VS2010) having Office 2010 Professional Installed, and it is 64-bit Windows 7 Platform. The program opens a .doc and .rtf format document, and attempts to save it in htm format. I am using following commands:
Dim sFilePath as String = "C:ABCfile.doc" Dim oApp As New Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Application Dim oDoc As New Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Document
[code]....
All goes fine with development and running on development PC, but when I publish it for offline installation, and deploy it on Client PC having Windows XP with Office 2007, it gives error on oDoc.SaveAs2 line, and program crashes.
I want to know how to put (-) AFTER the word LOVE AND before Any word in the textbox by a click of Button. ( if my textbox1.text has: LOVEMOM then when i click the "Button" it shows "LOVE-MOM" if LOVEDAD then = "LOVE-DAD" and soo on.
is there a way to get the raw data of a word file document object?
word = new Word.Application();doc = new Word.Document();
now, I open the word file, do some replace. save the file. I could open the file as raw binary file. but I'm thinking maybe there is a property that can get the raw the data? which property?
I am fairly new to programming and I am trying to create a MS Word add-in to add an xml file into the WordprocessingML package of docx files.I am currently having trouble with Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Application.ActiveDocument", used:Dim currentDoc As Document = Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.Application.ActiveDocumentbut I keep getting the error: "Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference" there.
At present I have wrote an application (in-house CRM, vb .net 2010) which allows me to send emails under the selected customer & I categorised these emails. As these are categorised I can return data to display email history in my program by using search criteria:
Dim oMail As Outlook.MAPIFolder = oNS.GetDefaultFolder(Outlook.OlDefaultFolders.olFolderSentMail) Dim sSearch As String sSearch = "[Categories] = '" + "[" + tAccount.Text.Trim + "]" + "(" + tShipTo.Text.Trim + ")'" Dim oItems As Outlook.Items = oMail.Items.Restrict(sSearch)
However the limitation to the above is it only looks at sent items & no other folder. My ideal solution would be to display all email correspondence for a certain contact.
Scenario: I have about 14000 word documents that need to be converted from "Microsoft Word 97 - 2003 Document" to "Microsoft Word Document". In other words upgraded to 2010 format (.docx).
Question: Is there an easy way to do this using API's or something? Note: I've only been able to find a microsoft program that converts the documents to .docx but they still open in compatability mode. It would be nice if they could just be converted to the new format. Same functionality you get when you open an old document and it gives you the option to convert it.[URL]..EDIT2: This is my current function for converting the documents
[Code]...
Also it opens word after about 2 or 3 conversions and starts flashing but keeps converting.EDIT3: Tweaked to code above a little bit and it runs cleaner. Takes 1min10sec to convert 8 files though. Considering I have 14000 I need to convert this method will take a reasonably long time.
EDIT4: Changed the code up again. Uses a threadpool now. Seems to run a bit faster. Still need to run on a better computer to convert all the documents. Or do them slowly by folder. Can anyone think of any other way to optimize this?
how to return a word when it's clicked.Basically I have two RichTextBoxes. RTB1 has text, RTB2 doesn't.When a word is clicked inside RTB1 I want the same word displayed in RTB2.I've managed to do it with highlighted words and phrases, but not by clicking on them.
what I need do is: I have an original file, it can be office word file, or pdf file. In the file, there are some words that are encrypted, so, it reads like: blah, blah, this is the word: xxxxx, blah, blah In my program, I decrpted the xxxxx, now, I want to put it back and generate the new file. How can I do it? for word file, I guess MS office library will work. how about pdf file?
How I am making it work, is the software starts with a list of EVERY word. And when you spellcheck, it checks to see if the word you typed in matches any word in the list of every word (dictionary). And if not, it's misspelled. If so, then it's all coo'.The problem with this, is that I can only spellcheck one word at a time. So, I was thinking of somehow reading a sentence by words. Taking each word in order and putting them into a string. Then checking each word. My software is a learning software. I have a website that is meant to teach you computer programming. And one of the courses is Visual Basic (.NET).Visual Basic seems to be a popular programming course in High Schools so I decided that it would be a great language to add.
I am trying to populate some fields in Word document using DocVariable:[code]The proplem that I am facing is when I open the document after running the program the fields won't be updated, so I have to go each field and highlight it then > right click > update field to get the new value!I need a way to update them or my work will be meaningless.I forgot to say that the DocVariables are inside textboxes.
This is my first time posting and I am asking for a huge favor:I have a web browsing application that is supposed to filter bad words. I know:WebBrowser1.DocumentText = WebBrowser1.DocumentText.Replace("BADWORD", "B******")Does NOT work. I know that you can litterally cut some text from a web page using:
WebBrowser1.Document.ExecCommand("Cut", False, vbNull)So, maybe cut and replace the word?
I've developed an application in VB.Net 2010, Express edition. It uses Word Library functionality to access several .docx and .dotx files.Everything works in the development environment. However, after deployment, my application can't find any of the Word document files. I've added them to the project and to the Resources list under the Project Properties tab.The path I'm using to locate the docs and dots is coded in these ways:[code]Both of these statements work in the development environment perfectly. Not at all after deployment as an app. What can I do to make my application find the Word files after deployment?
I have a rich text box control in my form. Much like Concise Oxford Dictionary, when user clicks on any word, I need to capture it and process it. The click event don't help and I can't seem to figure it out.
I have an application written in VB.net for batch print jobs. As part of the application, the user selects two printer trays to use to print the batch to (one plain paper the other coloured for coversheets and batch seperators) I had this working until we upgraded our systems from Windows XP with Office 2000 to Windows 7 and Office 2010. Now the selected trays are not being recognised and an error is thrown.
I've looked at similar posts on here and other forums but they seam to concentrate on using some word default trays (wdPrinterDefaultBin etc) however I need to be able to let the user pick whatever tray they wish to use. I don't want to have to go through every printer in the building and map the trays to the word values either as I don't want to rewrite the app everytime we've a new printer.
Here is the code:
sub PopulatePrinterTray (byref Printer as String) 'gets printer trays for selected printer and then populates some comboboxes Dim pkSource As Printing.PaperSource Dim printDoc As New Printing.PrintDocument
I am attempting to create a MS Word (2010) document using automation (but not VSTO). My problem (for the moment) is that I don't know how to set a word (or set of words) to be bold. I can set the bold on an entire paragraph, but not part of the paragraph.
Here is an example:
sText = "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" oPara1 = oDoc.Content.Paragraphs.Add oPara1.Range.Font.Name = "Arial Narrow" oPara1.Range.Font.Bold = True
[code]....
The above sample will turn the entire paragraph bold. However, if I want to just set the word "fox" bold, this I can't do. I did find a solution that will search and replace every instance of the word "fox" (or just the first instance), but this is not a valid option for the project I'm working on where the word "fox" might appear half a dozen times but only one of those (that I select) would be bold.
I have an sql database with client email addresses.I need to send out reminders at certain dates that vary per client. Is there a way for me to draw only the clients that need to receive the reminders out of the database and then send an email to each one of them? From what I have found so far, it looks like I can set up the smtp fairly easily.I just don't know how to get the client's that I need and then cycle through each one.
How would you replace a certain word from input to output? Like, if you type "Tigers are cool" in a text box I want the ouput after a button click to be "Lions are cool", changing 'tiger' to 'lion'. It should also be case sensitive so Tiger would convert to Lion, not lion.
My google skills have failed me on this, so I'm hoping that someone could point me in the right direction.I have a windows forms application that writes data to a datatable, which is then manipulated & saved into an access database. I am now looking to retrieve the data and write it out into a word document.
