I have a series of variable values that use an underscore to represent the space between words (e.g., abc_def_hij or klm_nop). When trying to display them as label.content (e.g., MyLabel.Content = DataType) the label always suppresses the first underscore. The examples I gave would display as abcdef_hij or klmnop and I can't seem to find anything that defines this anomaly or how to alter its behavior.

View 5 RepliesI am using the FormLayoutPanel for the first time and I am not able to figure out what is going on.On the form, I have a label that can grow and shrink because the content can change. The text includes the name of the client and that name can always be different lengths in regard to characters. I also have a grid on the form.
As you will see from the attached image, the form that has the FormLayoutPanel on it is showing small and not showing the content of the form. The form is indicated via the green arrow.In regard to the FormLayoutPanel, I have set it up in the following way:
Three rows, one column.The label is in the first cell, nothing in the second cell and the grid in the third cell.The TableLayoutPanel is anchored top, left, bottom, right.

The Label in the first cell is anchored top, left, bottom, right TextAlignment = MiddleLeft

We could possibly export the contents of the listview control that we can select in the visual basic 2008 application. I tried to set its properties to 'true' on FullRowSelect, HoverSelection and the MultiSelect. I want to copy and paste the content of the listvew control when being highlighted. It highlights all the items inside the listview control and when you use the command ctrl+c for copy and paste it in another application like MS Excel, it only paste one item which is the first item in the row and the rest were not. However, in the datagridview, it ables to paste all the contents inside of the control but the listview control can't. Why is it so? do i need to add codes on it or it is just the Windows OS is not capable of doing it? How do I copy the selected items from the listview control and paste it into another application? Same as the label control which I want to highlight or select the text of the label in order for me to paste into the other application but unable to do so. These are the two controls that I'm trying to find out on how to export their contents to another windows application.

The code below works fine on Windows XP but raises "InvalidCharacter in path" exception on Windows 2003. It works on Windows 2003 when I remove the underscore from the foldername. I don't have a Windows 2003 machine at hand right now so I was wondering whether the underscore is a reserved character on Windows 2003.

I have a class written in VB.Net exposed to COM via the ComClass & ComVisible attributes. The class is then made available to VBA via a TLB. In VB6 you could easily mark a member hidden in the object browser but still available with a check mark. In VB.Net the only way I found to make a member hidden the VBA object browser is to prefixing the name with an underscore.
Is there a way to hide a member without underscoring it?

Recently, when I compile, I get an error that my class must implement event ValueChanged.
When I remove the underscore and bring the Implements piece to the same line, it compiles.
If I then undo checkout and revert it back to what the code was before, it compiles.

I have several HotKeys setup in my program that functionally are working, my problem is with the dispaying of the text. The underscore does not appear when the program is running.I have several radio buttons that have the text property set to something like "&1 Fold" while in design mode the underscore is present, but when the program is running the underscore is not present. I'm taking standard output (as a string) froma console CMD window (results of dsquery piped to dsget) and have found small rectangles in the output. I have a form with 2 radio buttons where the "checked" property is false, yet when the form loads the first radio button is selected. I tried .refresh and no positive results... Grrr! I finally finished all my labels and textbox codes for this button.But now I have to code it so that I will be able to click the button and it will calculate all the wrong and correct answers in the labels and then finally place the percentage score in the uiScorePercentagelabel. I have been using vb6 for a while, I am following a tutorial by MS to develop a basic application and a simple task cannot be completed for whatever reasons! The tutorial asks to drag the label object from the toolbox and drop in the tab control container. Then, go to the label size property and adjust the size to some different dimansion. Basic stuff, right? It won't let me do it! After I enter the new dimensions (which by the way are not large or very small), the label size (both width and height) resets back to its original dimensions! I have the vb.net sp1 installed.

I figured out the width of the label and if the width of the text inside the label is longer.
