I know that by clicking before an object is finished moving, causes the object to move again, prematurely. I have tried using "If Timer2.Enabled = False Then move. This does not work. Is there another way to disable either the mouse or program execution until the animation objects are finished moving?

I am working on a simple program which requires me to be able to select a picture box and move it to a new location by dragging it with my mouse. This is all the relevant code I have come up with currently. however, when I run the program it tries to move to where I want it to go then it seems to revert back to its previous location.

View 1 RepliesI'm working on a custom scroll bar. When dragging the slider, things work smoothing with what I have... that is if the users movements are smooth and slow-ish. When moving quickly the mouse move event doesn't seem to fire as accurately as I had hoped.. I attempted using the up and down buttons enter event for re positioning or "resetting" the slider whenragging is activated but still those events don't even fire when the mouse move event is firing. So I believe I hit a barrier of my .Net knowledge and hope someone here knows a way around this little issue.

Apologies as this has probably been answered a million different times a million different ways already. I'm trying to control the mouse. I wish to move the mouse to a given pixel position (x, y) and cause a click. I don't want this to be limited within a form, as I want to control another application. I'm using VB 2005.
View 4 RepliesI'm currently debugging a form that sets a flag when the mouse button is pressed, then clears the flag when the mouse button is released. As long as the mouse button is pressed, the user can move the mouse around and a few things happen depending on where they move. One of the things that happens is that a timer starts, or stops, and a few things change color depending on the mouse position. The timer starts when it should, then stops when it should, but once stopped, it is not re-starting when it should. I can verify that MouseMove events are getting through, because coloring changes as I move the mouse, as it should. This would be a simple thing to debug...except that it requires the darn mouse button to be down, and it uses the mouse move event. Anybody who has put a breakpoint in a mouse move event handler knows the issue: There are THOUSANDS of them. Worse yet, since the mouse button is necessary for switching to the IDE, as well as setting a breakpoint (technically, a keyboard shortcut could do this if I could shift focus), I can't wait for the problem to happen, then switch to the IDE and set a breakpoint to see what is happening then.Does anybody have any tips or techniques for debugging in mouse move events when the mouse button is down and has to stay that way? As it is, I'm going to have to write some funky code into the method just so that I have a place to get a breakpoint when I need it without breaking on every one of the mouse move events.

If I put code in timer (which it is now), the mouse will keep searching for the color, so the mouse moves around like crazy. I have a textbox and I have a button. Okey, when the button is clicked I want my mouse to go and click a certain position on my screen. How can I do that using Visual basic 2008 express?
I'm not real sure how to even ask this question... but here goes.I'm using VB2005 and DirectX 9, D3D. It is 2D isometric display.Here is what I CAN do. Create a map grid. Draw each tile out and present the map on the screen. (ISO) I can even scroll around using the arrows and mouse at the edge of the screen.
- I can click on the map and get the X,Y coords of the tile I am on.... look up the grid to see what is supposed to be on this tile.The only game coding experience I have is using windows forms controls... I've done a few dozen of them. Dice games, card games..

I am trying to make a program so that u can click a button to save multiple spots on the screen of the x/y coords of the mouse and then after you choose them there will be a hotkey u can press that will automatically click on each of the x/y coords that were chosen earlier. My Front end is VB.net 2008.I have a form. In this form, I have a menu control, this menu control has four buttons.On clicking the first three buttons, open the window with Show() event. and the fourth button open the screen with ShowDialog().Now, One by one I am clicking the button , so finally i have now four windows of this application.(Three with Show() and one with ShowDialog())Right?
Now I am minimizing all the windows with the help of Window + D Button.After this, If I use the keyboard(Alt+ Tab) keys. This is opening the showDialog window on top because , Show dialog's TopMost = True.Now I come back to my problem. That's why I cannot use the show/Showdialog overloaded menthod to pass the Me/form-id .Again, I use the keyboard(Alt+ Tab) keys, to minimized all windows. In the taskbar and Startmenu properties ,I have selected the Group Similar Taskbar buttons.This resulted in the heap of my application windows, one on the other.Now i click on one of my application window , and If I click the window other then the Show Dialog opened Window, this is not bringing the show dialog window to topMost.
Note:- There is no parent child window requirement. That's why I can't use the Show/Show Dialog overloaded method to pass the Me/Form-id

Is there a way to just move the mouse up and down a little, like a little shake, every 5 minutes or so? I've tried to find ways to do this but I'm very confused. I'm fairly new at visual basic but I think I could understand it if someone gave me an example code with an explanation.

I need to be able to find out if the mouse has been moved, if the mouse hasn't been moved in a minute then use Cursor.Hide() to hide the mouse, if the mouse is moving then I want the mouse to be shown.
