My program working fine during debug stage but somehow after create installer & install the program, the error prompt out..[code]The interop.dao.dll is auto include when add the project output.Not sure when create the installer, there's warning prompt as pic attachment will affect the result or not. Also, there's red line hightlight the sccrun.dll.

View 5 Repliesi am using visual studio 2005 on win 7 with office 2007.i have developed win application. i am using microsoft activex spreadsheet component in my program. so it automatically creates reference to AxInterop.OWC11.dll But when i run program in debug mode (open program and click RUN in toolbar it works) it works. But if i run directly .exe (go to bin release doubleclick .exe) it gives error at loading point of that component. It says "Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory has been corrupted." An unhandled exception occurrs.AxInterop.OWC11.dll is in release directory.Is this office 2007 error or Win 7 ?

So my class was recently given an assignment to make a Tic Tac Toe program with options of playing against the computer, or another person. I was able to 2 player game work, but I have run into a problem with the two player game. Whenever I start debugging and click on one of my buttons (these represent the 9 spaces on a tic tac toe board), the gameplay form freezes, and becomes uncontrollable. The close button on the form doesn't even work, I have to go back to VB and click stop debugging to close the unresponsive form. I checked my original two player game, which has a similar code, but that works just fine. VB does not show any error messages or give any warning.

When I run a certain project from within the IDE and an error would come up (just any error, like dividing by 0), it won't jump into the IDE showing me the line where the error occured, but the program is simply ended and I am back in the IDE!.With any other project that is not the case. I cannot work further on this project with this problem. Of course I did a PC restart, but that didn't solve it.
I got Visual Studio Professional 2008 with SP1.

View 3 RepliesI just got Windows 7, so I re-installed VB 2008 Express and have been met with some weird issues. One of which is when my program is running it used to break on a line where an error was occurring and tell what it was and let me fix it and continue. So I can see the error in the Immediate window but why is it not breaking on the line? It just continues loading the program. Is there a setting I'm missing?

I'm trying to run the "Shell" command in a VB.NET project, to execute an external file. For example: Shell("c: empmyfile.txt").
For some reason this throwing a "file not found" exception, yet the file is there. Now I've looked around and found that others recommend using the "System.Diagnostics.Process" method, which does work, however I don't want the file to run in-process, which is what that does.
I want to run the file out of process, so that when my program ends, the executed program keeps running independently. Hence my attempt to use Shell() but it refuses to work.
Is there another way besides Shell() to run a file out of process?
I have a batch file. It includes two lines, as follows: pkgmgr /n:unattend.xml pause I have run this batch file manually and it works (installs IIS on the local machine). But when I try to run it in code I get an error: "An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format". Here is my code to run the batch file:

My problem is that I want to know if an instance of my application is already running and, in that case, I want to jump directly to that instance, without starting another one. I tried several solutions found on the internet but I think there are solution for desktop applications not for mobile applications because I have a lot of errors.
View 1 RepliesI recently moved my Application that was running off of Window XP and created in VS 2005 over to a box that's running Windows7.Now, when I try to debug, I can't edit. In the lower portion of the screen, it gives me this error: Cannot currently modify this text in the editor. It is read only.
Under Tools->Options->Debugging, Edit and Continue are already selected; so it's something else. Also, under project properties->compile I have it set to Cofiguration (Active Debug) and Platform (Active Any CPU).
I want to prevent my program from running when it is already running.How can I do that in my vb2008 Code?
View 1 RepliesI wrote this VB program to be able to throw a device we developed into programming mode where we use an ATMEL Flip installer to upload new firmware. I can program one device after another running the application off of Visual Studio Express 2010 or Visual Studio 2010, but when I go to publish this file and run it on another machine, it becomes unstable and crashes after each upload. On those same computers if I run the raw unpackaged program under Visual Studio Express, the system does not crash, and I can program devices repeatedly.

i did a project in vb.net using the vs2005.I created the set up of the application.But when i install the set up in a machine in which vs is not installed then the set up does not work.Again when the machine has vs installed then the setup works nicely.....
should i need to install this:

on every client machine in which vs is not installed but still i want to install the set up of my application?
or some other software in order to run my application?
