I am developing an application using VB.NET ( VS 2005) for Transforming high volume of Data between 2 SQL servers. So I am using DTSObjectLibrary ( COM Objects). The Transforming of Data is fine.
I wanna use EVENT Handlers of the DTS Package. Some code available in msdn helped me. the Event is fired if I use MSGBOX() with in the Overridable Overloads Sub OnProgress . But if Wanna display the result in a Textbox or a Gridview It is not showing.
I have a vb .net application where the user can choose a directory into which an excel file is written. If the user selects a system directory (yes, my users do this, don't ask me why) then a System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException is thrown at runtime. I am handling this exception telling the user to please select another directory.
I have put the exe which is in bin folder to my client place. I have installed .net framework there. and some forms are working fine. But I 'm getting above error for some forms. it has specially status bar, flexgird. I have copied the AxInterop.MSFlexGridLib.dll and Interop.MSFlexGridLib.dll file in to the same place where the exe is.
I am a *** programmer and cannot make sense of the error message I'm getting. I wrote a program and it runs fine on my development machine and also on other machines with Visual Studio installed. However, when I run it on any other machines, I get the message below. All of my other programs that I write run fine on these other machines; so I know this problem must be due to some control that's unique to this new program. But I can't make much sense of the error report
I'm using a 64 Bit Windows 7 system and trying to use PrintDialog. I know it doesn't work on Windows 7 unless you add this code: PrintDialog1.UseEXDialog = True. So I have added that code but then I get this error for the following code: Dim result As DialogResult = PrintDialog1.ShowDialog().
And the error: "An exception of type 'System.Runtime.InteropServices.SEHException' occurred in System. Windows.Forms.dll but was not handled in user code. Additional information: External component has thrown an exception."
An unhandled exception of type 'System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException' occurred in STUB_CREATOR.exe Additional information: Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A0036 (CTL_E_BADFILEMODE)
This is the line that creates the error
Dim f As New Scripting.FileSystemObject starter = f.OpenTextFile(stub_path.Text + "" + cpp_file, Scripting.IOMode.ForWriting)
I have just previously opened the file for writing. but however i have closed the textstream with which i was writing into the file.
a company offered me to develop a project for our attendence system in which finger recognition system is used. now i have quitely no idea that what i do and what do i do with this finger recognition system project.
I'm writing an application which has user authentication system, basically, when the user open the software, he has to enter his/hers username and password which are retrieved form a access data base, and if the user is set as admin then it enable some features, I couldn't figure out how to read the column lets say, IsAdmin table, which will store an value of 1 or 0 for example. I need a concept of how build a login system with levels or whatever you guys call it...
I have a project that I am working on and I just recently transfered it from an XP machine to a Windows 7 machine. Both machines are running VB Studio and the only thing that changed was I moved it from the XP machine to the WIndows 7 environment. I have not changed any of the code, I just transfered it and ran it to make certain nothing happened.
One element of My.Settings is a Specialized.StringCollection. This has been working fine for months. Starting two days ago I always get the following message -
I need to generate a class at runtime similar to System.Resources where you can add a resource eg 'picture.bmp' and it immediatelly is accessible as 'System.Resources.picture.bmp'. I presume I need to generate XLM or/and XLSD at design time and then deserialise at runtime but I cant find a reference on how to do this. Specially without knowing the generic class in advance (as 'System.Resources' doesnt know all the resources in advance).
I do have some classes that implement their own serialization/deserialization but I'm doing all of these without implementing system.runtime.serialization.ISerializable. so my question is what exactly is the benefit of using system.runtime.serialization.ISerializable ? in what example situation will we need to implement system.runtime.serialization.ISerializable?
When running a program, that error (in the title) shows up. I managed to get the stack trace, shown below.
System.TypeInitializationException was unhandled Message="The type initializer for 'System.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingConfigHandler' threw an exception." Source="mscorlib" TypeName="System.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingConfigHandler" StackTrace:
I am attempting to use the System.Management.ManagementObjectSearcher class in VS 2005 (see below) but get a error message for both the ManagementObjectSearcher class and queryObj As ManagementObject - Type ManagementObjectfSearcher is not defined and Type ManagementObject is not defined. how do I use this class in Visual Studio 2005?
Dim searcher As New System.Management.ManagementObjectSearcher( _ "rootCIMV2", _ "SELECT * FROM Win32_ComputerSystemProduct")
I am using a DLL in my application that will probably be experiencing frequent updates. I want the DLL to detect the new version (I know how to do this), load the new version of the DLL into memory, and continue running. Is this even possible? So I need to know how to: Unload the current DLL. Load the new DLL. If possible, do this from the DLL in question. Is this even possible? If not, how close can I get to this?
A change I made to the project's configuration must have disabled the ability for me to edit the code at runtime. I used to be able to pause execution and edit code on the fly, but I recently made a change to the configuration manager to build releases for x86 and all of the sudden I can no longer update code while running the app. This is very frustrating as I have to keep stopping and starting my app.
I googled this and found several different codes, but none of them work. What I want is to be able to create a control, for example a Label, during the runtime of my program. I've tried:
Dim lbl as New Label lbl.Text = "Hello" lbl.Location = New Point(20, 20)
I want to be able to select any control on the vb form at runtime. These controls will be added to theform on a click of a button. So essentially I want to dynamically be able to add and then select these controls at runtime. I would also like to make these controls dragable on the form.
I would like to resize a panel at runtime using a mouse.I only need Vertical resizing. So, I have panel1 and docked a label to the bottom of the panel, this will be the drag bar.Now I'm thinking I need to use the mousedown event and capture the Y coordinates of the mouse? On Mouse up set my panel height to those new coordinates? Also, I'm pretty sure my panel won't redraw itself when this is going on. Should I set the panel height while I'm dragging?
I'm developing a windows application using vb.net (VS 2005 and windows XP) I've set images (transparent png files) to buttons.I do it importing images into the resources of the project I could do it for most of the buttons of this project, but today I noticed new images I set, not showing in run time. In the development form I can see all images on buttons, but when I run the application, buttons with new images are missing. This happens to the new images I import and set as button images. I tried few times new images I set are not showing.
The problem is the class="pass_section" in the xsl. I need to set that value dynamically in the VB code (meaning put a run-time value in the xml to set it).
