Now I am trying to copy the MS access table(hoping to keep the input mask). I have the table copying and renaming, but it fails to keep the input mask... So far this copies and clears the table, is there anything I am missing to make it keep the input mask

I have an application running access constantly whilst using it. I was hoping to backup the file each time i close the application. What checks do i need to do to make sure when i close the file that it is safe to copy the file without getting errors for copying a file when still in use.

I'm writing an app to print a list of beers that are currently on tap at the restaurant where I work part-time. We have 29 taps and dozens of different beers. I have 2 tables in a database (one with the "master list" of all the beers and an "on tap" one with one entry per tap). Each database entry includes fields for name, brewer, location, style and ABV. So far I've made a GUI with 29 combo boxes (one for each tap) and 2 buttons (one that opens a dialog box to modify the "master list" and one to print the list). The idea was to make it as simple as possible since the people who use it aren't great with computers and are often in a hurry.
Each combo box drops down the whole master list of beers and I'd like for the selected beer to be written to the corresponding index in the "on tap" table. My idea is to then extract the data from the "on tap" table and print it. I haven't done any coding yet, really, just drag-and-drop.It's frustrating since I know how I'd do the back end in C or C++, but not in VB. The reverse is true for the GUI.
I want to add a new table in my accdb and copy the content tfrom an existing table into the new one.
Is there an easy way to do this?

1) Make an ODBC connection to our datasource and display it in a Datagrid (table)
2) Make an ODBC connection to a DataSource and Copy several tables to an MDB file. Basically the same thing I accomplish by using the Import Function in Access. Just automated and with some additional items.[code]

I can't seem to loop through the ODBC connection and assign it to a Datagrid.I usually get an Transoft Error about the Query - or more often I receive ERROR [IM001][Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver does not support this function.[code]

The goal here is to display the state abbreviations, but use the state_id value for the mem_state (there is a foreign key between those two fields).The mem_state is defined as number, the state_id is autonumber. When running the previous sql query i am getting a syntax error. This database is a access 2003 database using the Jet 4.0 OleDB driver.
I have a single user app that I wrote and have been using for more than a year that uses an Access 2003 database. Today, out of the blue, I started getting a DB concurrency violation whenever I tried to update one particular table in the database. After trying to troubleshoot what the problem might be, I just deleted that table and recreated it and the problem went away.
