View 1 RepliesI have a asp:DropDownList with a CascadingDropDown being populated by a webservice. The data the webservice provides contains HTML code eg. 2 which needs to be displayed as a superscript Unfortunately, the HtmlEncode="False" doesn't seem to work (if i set it to true, doesn't work either) - primarily because it isn't a valid property for the dropdownlist How do I do this?
View 2 RepliesI have a set of files of various format like pdf, txt, tiff, jpg.I need to render it within the form and highlight the certain keywords.Initially i tried to convert all files to pdf and then render it( using itext for vb.net).Now my colleague advised me to render them as html or images, saying it might make the process easier.
View 3 RepliesI am trying to render a hyperlink to html. ( etc)
When the page loads it works fine. (and lots 10 links) on the update panel it hits the same function and tries to get another 10 links. I set the navigationURL to something like
"../Folder/Mypage.aspx?498592ghjgfosdfgo"
It is set identically both times(load and updatepanel postback) but when i try to render it to html the second time (on the update panel) it adds "../" to the front so i end up with
"../../Folder/Mypage.aspx?498592ghjgfosdfgo"
The function where it changes here
Public Shared Function RenderControl(ByVal c As Control) As String
Dim sw As New IO.StringWriter
Dim htmlw As New HtmlTextWriter(sw)

I built a specialized userControl using VB2008 (on XP 32-bit) to embed in HTML (not ASP!) and compiled it, pointing to x86 CPUs. I added the necessary keys to the registry (see attachment) to declare a classId in a HTML 'object' tag. This scheme works OK on all 32-bit OS I could put my hands on, but fails to load on 64-bit: I could test only on XP and Win 2003. No error message and Fiddler does not even know something happened... I installed VS2008 on the XP 64-bit machine and ported the code to a fresh userControl (to check the code). I got the userControl running on this workstation without any trouble. I copied this new DLL on another workstation and added the necessary keys to the register, but to no avail. I checked the registry and the 'Wow64' keys are there allright. As a check (and to provide you with a 'working' example), I:
- built a very simple userControl on the 32-bit environment (label, textbox and button to display the text in a mMessage box),
- on the 32-bit workstation:
+ copied the file to a 'program files' folder,

Usage: Users create pretty HTML news letters in another app. They post the newsletter to the web, but they also want to set the contents of the HTML news letter file as the body of an email and send it using Application In Question. The users understand to use absolute link and image references when sending an E Newsletter. Environment:
AIQ is a VB.Net app deployed via ClickOnce. It is an intranet app; one can be sure MS Office 2003 and the interop 11 dlls are on the target machines.
Restrictions: MAPI is out. It mangles the HTML. Since it is a ClickOnce deployment, we can't register dlls (I think, correct me if I am wrong). Therefore CDO and COM is out (again, I may be wrong.... I would be happy to be proven so).

An email can be saved to HTML. When saving it to the name test the file test.html is created and a directory test_files with files in it. When deleting test.html with the windows explorer the directory is deleted too. When deleting test.html with the vb command System.IO.File.Delete the file is deleted but the directory isn't. Is it possible to delete the html file and directory with one command?

I want to load some HTML into a webBrowser control, then operate a particular bit of code when it has finished loading. The code operates fine as long as I pause to wait for it to finish loading. If I just run the code without pausing, it sometimes messes up the display. webBrowser.Document Completed doesn't run after Document.write.I don't want to use webBrowser.DocumentText = "..." because that makes an annoying click sound every time it refreshes. A lot of people are annoyed by this. There are countless threads asking how to turn off the click, and using .write seems to be the only solution that doesn't require hacking the registry.

I've had a vb.net application for quite a while. Today, when I tried to load a form (one of many in the app) in Design mode, I got the error: "Could not load file or assembly 'Interop.MSMAPI, Version=1.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified." This form is the only form using msmapi, and the only one that won't load in Design mode.I can edit the form's code, run the application, and deploy the application. But I cannot access this form in Design mode. It's been a few months months since I've opened this form in Design mode, but it worked last time I tried it.

View 1 RepliesI installed VB 2008 Express on my laptop. I have Net. Framework 3.5, and whenever I try to run ANYTHING. I get the following error: "Error while trying to run project: Could not load file or assembly 'Windows Application1' or one of its dependencies.
