I want to be able to generate an output as the user inputs into each text box under the "further invoice details" section. For example, if the user inputs a value to amountrequired text box. VS 2008 Manipulating WndProc Messages Causes Weird Behavior When Changing Me.ShowInTaskbar
Oct 8, 2009I am capturing a few system command messages (namely minimize/maximize/restore). Inside the WndProc override I am trying to change the form's Me.ShowInTaskbar value but it is causing weird behavior in that minimization and restoration does not occur properly.Can anyone think of a reason why changing this property would interfere with this? The reason I don't really want to post code is because duplicating the effect takes a bit of code/setup. My initial thought was that changing the property's value is somehow sending another windows message and canceling the one I am currently manipulating. I realize this is a little vague but it's a shot in the dark.

VS2008/VB: Moving Subclass VB Code To Inherited Base Class - Where Should Variables/objects Be Declared
Jun 3, 2009In re-engineering a windows forms application, I find that a lot of code-behind in the various form classes is duplicative and I'm trying to centralize as many procedures as possible into a base class which can be inherited and used by the subclassed forms.
This process seems to be going well and is making the code in my subclasses much simpler and hopefully easier to maintain, but I'm not sure where to draw the line between leaving code in the subclasses and engineering for generic resusability and moving it to the base class.
Specifically, in some subclasses I have code which manipulates variables and objects specific to the subclass, and although I could move the code-behind into the base class, the base class code references specific objects which are needed to compile. For example, each subclass manipulates a databound datagridview and form detail controls which allows the user to select between multi-record and detailed single-record views of a datatable.
In Visual Basic 2008 do I need to declare dummy data objects in the base class so that the base class will compile? Or is there a way to indicate that the data objects will be provided by the subclass?

Dec 18, 2011i'm creating a game like text twist. that when i press letter a, i need to determine which picturebox contains letter a and display it to different location. that also goes to the proceeding letter a's. for example, i have a jumbled letters "aamba". in my code, it only gets the first letter a and removes it form the screen, it's nowhere to be found. and it won't recognize that i still have other letter a's i'm pretty sure about the location that i set it to be placed.here is my

My table basically displays 3 grades for a student, one column for the student's name and the other 3 columns for 3 separate grades, I need to be able to take the 3 grades from the same row and average them together, then display them in a separate column within DataGridView.

Feb 10, 2011I am building a quiz application which has 5 categories. I am saving details like name, category and score to DB. Table where all data is saved looks like :

On the start page i want to disable/enable categories if user has/has not took quiz yet (ie. if John has already completed Windows quiz but hasn't Mac then enable Mac Quiz, disable Windows and show Windows score).Whats the most elegant way of retrieving these values from database and then passing them to variable or boolean? What if search returns NULL (if quiz was not taken by John) and manipulating output from SQL Database? I am using vb.net 2.0 and SQL server 2005 and its an asp.net application.
