Mar 21, 2009I'm trying to get data from one column on my datagridview (That is reading data from an SQL Database) and put the column into a listbox.im using Datagridview as I made a program that was previously using a HUGE number of querys that make the program very inefitient when im only after one number etc, instead im downloading all the information to a datagridview object then using that for my querys then updating the database, at the minute i need to be able to manipulate the data into VB objects so the user doesnt get confused, need 1 column from datagridview to populate a listbox.

Jun 9, 2009I have 3 columns, "Username", "Email","Password"and this is for a program I am making so people can sign up for my program and I will have a webpage to display the username email and passwords in a hidden input textbox. When the user loads the form it wll go to the website, get the text from the hidden textbox, and load it into a get all the emails and passwords and load them into a datagrid and under the appropriate columns. How do I add items to a column the same as I would with a listbox?

Jul 28, 2009I have one form with one tabControl with two tabs, in each one I have one dgv, in the visible change event I create and add a new button column, that will be placed at the end. Now the "problem", if the first tab it's selected when the form becomes visible, the column it's placed in the correct position (last), and in the second tab the column it's placed in the third position.
If I do this with the second tab selected when the form become visible, the column it's placed correctly in this one, and in the third position in the first one... The code that I use, it's very simple, every datagrid it's bounded to a datatable, I tried the add method, then I tried the insert method, then I manually set the display index for each column, and none of this options solved my problem...

Redraw Button Width In Button Column In DataGridView
Aug 10, 2009I need to redraw a button in a button column in a DataGridView. Nothing to complicated other than I do not want the width to be as wide as the column width. To do so I am assuming that I have to create a custom button column object which inherits from the ButtonColum. Then I am assuming that I have to over-ride the Draw of the buttton itself.

Jun 22, 2010I select four columns(those are informations about payed fee for each member...so it could have zero or more rows) from my database (from two different tables), one record as "ID" and other three (i've band them together) as "Rest".Then, I've put that column "Rest" as a DisplayMember for my first ListBox...because I couldn't find a solution to put that "ID" column in the same ListBox, and make it invisible for user (I need "ID" column for accessing those fields about payed fee) I've made another ListBox and set DisplayMember = "ID".
I've put that ListBox on Visible=False and when I select rows from first ListBox "ID" is also changing and on event "SelectedIndexChange" for first ListBox I'm trying to get this "ID", store it into Integer variable and then put it into another select query that will select only selected pay fee from database...everything of this works fine but when I try to put that data from the last select query (something like this: TextBox3.Text = dataTablePodaci.Rows(0).Item(1) ) to a different textboxes (because there are three columns in select) here comes the problem, suddenly. The thing is that I can't see my real records in the main ListBox anymore...and instead of that for all rows I get:

I would like to be able to check every time the above event is fired that the column of percentages does not exceed 100%. I have a couple of labels below the listbox itself where I would like to show the running total and the remainder.
My questions are:
1) How can I loop through the second column of percentages to show the running total and remainder?
2) Is there something more suitable than a ListBox that could make this easier?

I want to position the listbox to be the same location as the topmost visible cell in the column the mouse is in. The end result will be that a context menu will be provided to show the user the distinct values in that column which is why I want the listbox to show over the column that it's displaying data for, just below the header cell. Mar 31, 2011I am wriing a vb.net windows application to log and store information. then display it in a sortable multiple column listbox (I personally like FlexGrid by Component One). However... I am not sure how to go about storing the information. Should I go with a .sdf file database, registry, simply storing them in a file, or some other method?
What I need is to be able to:
read/write/delete from it
read possibly up to a 20mb file and sorting it without a lot of lag
be transported to multiple systems and maintain these writes (installed on many systems)
I know I could split up the reading/writing to anther thread. Even to other .DLL's and whatnot. But as for storing. Not sure what the best option is.

Jan 26, 2009I am having problems with copying from one listbox to another and keeping the paths of the files in the listbox's. At the moment i have two listbox's, listbox1 shows the list of files without the directory paths showing. Listbox2 is used to add items from listbox1 which work ok but what i need is to be able to preserve the directory paths to each file. how to do this and have searched high and low for a solution without any luck.
I have worked out one way of doing it but i think there is a better way of doing it as the reverse does not seem to work. So basicly i want listbox1 to list the files without the paths and pass it on to listbox2 so that the files can be copied to temp directory as they are being add to listbox2.
