Sep 30, 2011I have been searching all morning for a sample showing a simple "find" example for an ASP.NET Webform, where a "find" button is used to find a string in a Textbox, and then Highlight it, like Word does. The following VB6 code worked perfectly, but I couldn't find .Selstart or .SelLength properties in the Text property of the ASP.NET textbox.

Jul 6, 2009What I am doing is creating a simple login and register system. I am going to save the information of each user into a text or ".dat" format and have them placed into a folder called "accounts".The small problem that I have is the "Forgot Password" option. I can't think of how to search all the documents for the e-mail or the username.So basically I need to know if it is possible to do a small search for the e-mail through all the documents in the "accounts" folder.
-I know another option may be databases...but I don't completely know how to use these.
-I have general knowledge of arrays

Nov 26, 2007Am writing a windows app using vb.net 2005. The app captures a string variable from the user. As each file within a directory is read, I want to match the stored string within each file. If I find a match to the string, I want a list box to be populated with the name of the file. I have added Imports System.Text.RegularExpressions and tried using the match collection.
For example: My direcotry has 5 text files. I want to match a string "PARENT" in the text of all these 5 files. The list box should output the name of each file where the string was found.

Make Any Changes To The Text Inside Of The Textbox
Oct 14, 2009I have a textbox on a form which I load the contents of a text file into. The values for some of the properties are as follows:
Readonly = false
Wordwrap = false
Multiline = true
Scrollbars = Vertical
When the scrollbars is set to vertical, then I am able to make any changes to the text inside of the textbox, deleting, typing in new text, cutting and pasting, etc. However if the scrollbars is set to both, then the only thing I am able to do is delete the text. It does not allow me to type any text into the textbox. All the other settings are the same as before. How would I make the text region editable with scrollbars set to both?
