View 3 RepliesIm making a desktop player for a online web radio, and for the program I wanna make it show all the stream info. Like the stream name, and such. However I dont know how to do this? I looked everywhere
The server url is setup like this "[URL]" And it has all the stream info and that there. So is there a way I can get the info from there onto like say a label? Live updates btw.
How to convert memorystream byte array to csv file. I have GetExport method that converts rpt file to excelformatted memorystream and then returns that as a byte array. Is there a way to convert this byte array to a csv file? Due to some reasons I can only pass this byte array back to calling function.
Public Function GetExport(ByVal reportID As ReportID) As Byte()
Dim byteArray As Byte() = Nothing
Using expRptDoc As ReportDocument = New ReportDocument()
Dim rptFileName As String = Server.MapPath(ReportCommand.GetXMLReportPath(reportID))
expRptDoc.Load(rptFileName)

I have created a PNG image that is 200 DPI, and perfectly sized for a landscape A4 page size. I needed to convert this to a PDF document, so I've used the iTextSharp library with the code below.This all works, however the image quality has degraded.
Public Sub ConvertPNGtoPDF(ByVal inputFile As String, ByVal outputFile As String)
Using fs As New FileStream(outputFile, FileMode.Create, FileAccess.ReadWrite, FileShare.None)
Dim document As New Document(PageSize.A4.Rotate, 0, 0, 0, 0)

I have an issue in streaming database.I have already write an image there and now i want to recall and put it in a PictureBox.
View 4 RepliesI have found that an image can be stored as some string. To give an example I have included a ms word part that has an image.I saved a word file with image and saved it as xml format .when i opened the xml file in a notepad i got following section. It must be the image being stored as some stream of text. Is there a similar way to do it in .net.

I am working on a program that alters very large images. The images are usually in .tif or .bmp format. I load up the old image, copy a section of it into a new image, then save the new image. So far everything works my problem is that the images that i have to alter are 900mb+. Using the simple Bitmap class is not working because the images are quite apparently too large to fit into memory that way. (throwing an OutOfMemory exception)I want to step over the part of loading the image, and turn it into streaming the pixels from the image straight from the disk. I kind of have an idea of how to get the stream open and start reading, but I have no idea what to do with the 32bit integers that are being returned. how to stream pixel data from an image?
Dim oldImage As Bitmap
Try
oldImage = New Bitmap(file)
Catch ex As Exception

I am needing to take an image from my Picturebox and make it into a stream so I can send it to a website. In otherwords, I have an image in my picturebox, and I am trying to pass it along to a server without actually downloading it to my computer. I am trying to do this in a JPG format if possible as well.
View 3 RepliesI am using a third-party .NET video capture function library that displays atreaming video from a USB video capture device in a VideoPictureBox (which is very much like the usual .NET PictureBox). I want to display graphics and text over the video stream.

I'm using a WebBrowser control in VB.Net to load a website. At that point, the WebBrowser.Document.Images property returns a collection of HtmlElement that are considered images.
What I'm trying to do at this point, is take a particular HtmlElement that represents an image and turn it into a System.Drawing.Image so that I can manipulate it. But I can't figure out how.
I did try to search for an answer, but came up with nothing. 'WebBrowser', as it turns out, seems to be a really popular keyword.
EDIT: It's been suggested that I use the SRC attribute of the HtmlElement to download the image; but the image can be dynamic - meaning the image I download can be separate from the image on the website....so, that won't work for my purposes.
in an winForm app in VS2010 win 7 compiling to x86, I try to do what Alvas.Audio seems to work. See (c# ex: [URL] for reference.
Dim data() As Byte = wr.ReadData(second * i, second)
The result give me data.length()=0. I do not have any exception, I can read format from it and whatever reader I use I got this problem.EDIT : After some tests, it seems like the uncompressed file I create in the first step (in PCM format, with .wav extension) can not be recognized by the Alvas.audio library for the second step. I must miss something around Audio file markups or something alike.
Here is the code that might be the source (basically this is step 1):
Dim functOut As String = String.Empty
Dim wr As Alvas.Audio.IAudioReader = Nothing
Dim fs As IO.FileStream = Nothing
[code]....
How can I write the resulted stream to be sure I can read it again later?
Would it be possible to basically make a full web page appear in a windows form application as an image? Sort of like a print screen command, but just for the web page itself. I need this to show any web page in overview as a image in my program, but I have no idea how to go about this. I suppose it would be almost like a web browser; other then that you can't click links or interact with the page at all, as it is an image. Preferably without loading the web page then converting it, but having it as in image as you load any given page - not sure if it's possible with just VB. Even a rudimentary method would be much appreciated.Note: I'm not to great with VB, so if you don't mind, please provide as much detail as you can with any given code,
View 2 RepliesI'm Currently using the following code to open up a folder containing Text and Bitmap files only and store them in arrays.
Dim d As New System.IO.DirectoryInfo("C:Documents and Settings" & GetUserName() & "My DocumentsWolfRiderGamesWaterGameMaps")
Dim FileCount As Integer = d.GetFiles.GetUpperBound(0) + 1

What I need is an extra bit at the end that takes the first bitmap file found and puts it in a picturebox called "PicCenter".
I need to have this done through converting its filepath to the image itself.
I will also Need an explaination of how you did it (If its complicated) because i'll need to do it again later.
Im using Visual Studio 2010.
I Know how to do most simple things in VB which usually allows me to do a workaround for something like this, but this one I couldn't.
I an working on image converting program. I need to convert a file that the user selects in an openfiledialog to the following file types in a folder that the user selects:
.ICO
.PNG
.JPEG
.BMP
.GIF
The user will select which type they want to convert the image to.
I'm creating a Image viewer and was wondering if anyone could help me with resizing an image, and converting the image to grayscale? My knowledge of visual basics is very limited so any code snippets.I am wanting to resize the original image to a 3 x 3.
View 1 RepliesI've been wondering if converting a color image to grayscale will reduce it's size?
And also wondering how to convert the image to grayscale?
I am successfuly connecting to an FTP server and have no problems with uploading / downloading files and initiating general file transfers. However, when attempting to list the directory I get a strange exception and it seemed to just start happening of its own accord.
Cannot access a disposed object. Object name: 'System.Net.Sockets.NetworkStream'. This is confusing! I am certainly not manually disposing any of the connection of stream reader objects, nor am I disposing anything else in this entire sub routine. On setting breakpoints, it seems that the array list is filled correctly but then the error fires when the status code is 226 despite me clearly specifying that the while loop should not run under these circumstances. (226 is equal to FtpStatusCode.ClosingData)
I'm trying to find source code for vb.net(2010). i want to stream video file (picture and sound) from my computer(server) over lan to another computer(client). on the server side i open the video into "Windows media player controller". how i stream the picture and sound over lan network?
View 1 RepliesIn a form I have an ImageList named MainLogoImageList containing a 100x100 pixel 32-bit colordepth image. That is my app logo.
I am too lazy to set up an icon editor and edit an icon of that logo, or convert the image to an .ICO file. (Ergh, well, I am not allowed to install custom utilities.)
To set my forms' icon, I use
Icon = IconFromImage(MainLogoImageList.Images(0))
in the OnLoad event handler to set the window icon.
In my about box, i have a PictureBox with no image. In its OnLoad event, I use
LogoPictureBox.Image = MyMainForm.MainLogoImageList.Images(0)
Icon = IconFromImage(MyMainForm.MainLogoImageList.Images(0))
to set the About box's icon and content.
So far, so good, the icon looks pretty good for a being created from a 100x100 pixel bitmap.
Is there an easy "no utility required" :-) way to get the icon that is returned my IconFromImage saved into an .ICO file so that it will keep the color depth when loaded as the app icon? I want to use exactly the icon that IconFromImage creates.
Saving it using
Dim S As New FileStream("MyAppIcon.ico", FileMode.Append, FileAccess.Write, FileShare.Write)
Icon.Save(S)
S.Close()
in the main form's OnLoad event handler and loading that .ICO file as the app icon in VS's project properties dialog yields and icon that is obviously converted to 16 colors, and looks awful.
im trying to get a memory stream to a textbox, the memory stream is of a .txt or .ini file that is extracted from a archive to a memory stream.Heres what ive got so far:
vb
Dim MSData As New System.IO.MemoryStream() Dim Infile As String = ComboBox10.SelectedValue 'The input archive Dim passww As String = TextBox1.Text 'Archive password Using extr As New SevenZipExtractor(Infile, passww) extr.ExtractFile("02.ini", MSData) End Using Dim sr As StreamReader = New StreamReader(MSData) Dim textSsS As String = sr.ReadToEnd() ini02.Text = textSsS
The problem is that ini02.text stays blank?
I am trying to capture a stream from a website into my vb.net application. I was able to do it before, but the site is now updated and I cannot play the file again!!!ere is the link:I tried using several methods. looked at the source, flash capture programs, even fiddler to check the requests, but it didn't work at all
View 1 RepliesI was taking code called from an event and making a function of it
Public Function asyncPostMS(prefixes() As String, ms As MemoryStream) As Stream
Dim request As WebRequest = WebRequest.Create(prefixes(0))
request.Method = "POST"
[Code]....
Now when I call this using the new function the stream is already closed. How do I pass out a stream object from a function as an already "read" object.
Or do I need to create the stream outside the function?
I have a Socket application that, when data is received (on the Server side) and the client is recognized, the data is passed onto its own socket and stream, and the previous socket and stream is discarded.
The data is serialized with a binary formatter before sending and deserialized on receiving the data.

Public Sub imageload(ByVal index As Integer, ByRef imagedescription() As String)
Dim da As New OleDbDataAdapter("Select Foto From Images where Photoindex = " & index & ";", Form1.baglanti)
Dim dt As New DataTable
Dim ms As New MemoryStream
[code]....
i was take "Parameter is not valid." error pff where is my mistake?
i do not know why data type image on ms sql is not working ! so i choose to use varchar(max) as my datatype to store images.. but i do now know how to load it on crystal report..
View 1 Repliesis this possible to do in memory (so i can get rid of any disk IO)?:
If File.Exists("c:MyImage.png") Then
File.Delete("c:MyImage.png")
End If
[Code]....
This above code works great the first time then errors out on any successive attempts after that with the file being used by another process at the File.Delete line. The image is being generated for use as a mail attachment and i've only ever done it via a phyical file on the disk.
Basically, I need to transmit data across a network from point A to point B using a Binary Serialization System. I'm doing this to make sure that the system can't have outside listeners read the data being sent easily and to keep results secure and confidential.What is an easy way that I can encrypt, say, a generic object? Would it be easiest to serialize it to file, read the bytes in, encrypt the bytes, then store the bytes in a serialized structure and send that across the stream and reverse the process?
Private Function EncryptClass(ByVal obj As Object) As Byte()
Dim key() As Byte = {52, 15, 85, 150,
45, 12, 78, 120,

I have a user interface app that allows you to drag/drop in files - and it turns them into HttpListener request POST's to another EXECUTABLE that I have running - let's call it BACKEND1. BACKEND1 will be running on a SERVER when this gets ready for production use. Lots and lots of users running the UI - all dragging in files - all getting POST'ed to BACKEND1 - with the file included as a memory stream in the POST. BACKEND1 responds to the UI with a "sequential" file number assigned to the file centrally on the server.
On the SERVER is also running another EXECUTABLE - let's call it BACKEND2. It's job is to work with the DRAG'd in files. Both BACKEND1 and BACKEND2 sit on the same SERVER. At the moment I am writing the memory stream to DISK in BACKEND1 - and POSTing the FILENAME to BACKEND2 for it to work on. Would it be better to not write the file in BACKEND1 but instead include it in the POST to BACKEND2 - where it can be written to DISK? Is having LARGE HTTP REQUEST's a burden when sent between two EXECUTABLES on the same machine?
My primary goal is to have a really available BACKEND1 talking the the UI instances running out in the world. I'm concerned that doing the file i/o in BACKEND1 is "expensive" - and I don't care about the performance of BACKEND2 as much. just looking for opinions. I guess ultimately I'll have to bench mark this myself in a production environment to get a real answer.
