Sep 23, 2010Is it better to add just one datasource to your project that holds all your database tables and queries that you use as typed datasets. Or, create a datasource for each individual form or situation where your using the database tables as typed datasets. It seems simplier to have just one datasource but is there a down side. We're talking about @25 database tables/queries.

VS 2010 : Multiple Connections To Single Webcam?
Nov 11, 2011I have written a program that uses directshowlib to capture a stream from a webcam and save as an AVI whenever a bird lands on the experiment platform for behavioral research. What I would like is to be able to allow another program or connection to the same webcam at the same time simply for preview purposes, is this possible?
Basically I want my app to still be able to record on demand when a bird interacts but I would also like a IP cam program like webcamXP/Webcam7 to be able to stream a live feed to the internet so we can have a live view of the platform. I had found some articles about connecting multiple streams from one webcam but am not sure how to go about it. If I have to I will simply mount a 2nd cam in the Bird colony and dedicate it to the web stream but if I can use the same cam as the recording cam that would be great.
VS 2010 : Print Multiple Copies?
Mar 7, 2012I have the little recipe program that lets you print the selected recipe on to a 3x5 or 4x7 card. It works but only the very first time you open up the form. Once I click on the 4x7 menu and it brings up the recipe to print, I click the print button, it prints, but if I click the print button again it prints but it cuts the recipe off and only prints like a few letters of the ingredients and that is mostly off the left side of the page. The class is below used to print the 4x7. it basically just takes a screenshot of the form and makes it a bitmap. Is there a better way maybe?

I press the button for preview and it shows me the preview. But if I change the content of the rich text box with another file, the print preview shows me empty. How I can send it to a new preview?

Based on my observations, when one tries to paste the text into a single-line textbox, only the first line is actually pasted in. (I am aware that the "obvious" solution would be to set the Multiline property to True, but there are reasons I am looking to avoid this and to put multi-line data into a single line.)
In the TextChanged event handler, I wrote code that parses the clipboard data to successfully convert it to a single-line, comma-delimited format.

Jan 31, 2010I opened an older project and it works fine. Using syntax: debug.print ("OK") and look for printed line in immediate window. Is there some setting I could have inadvertently disabled or have maybe discluded some imports? Only import is forms.

Oct 1, 2010i notice that when i start next line of code and i press enter, it recompacts itself and the continued line moves left a bit... then if i place focus on the second line and press enter again, it (the second line) moves to the left some more, and it keeps doing this every time i focus on second line and press enter. how can i make it so that my second (and third etc) lines are formatted in a pre-determined way so they are always a certain amount of tabs indented to the right from where my line 1 starts?
