I have the following line of code which keeps giving an error.[code]I know what is causing the error, it is the ItemCount which remains as ItemCount in the command line not the value of ItemCount but I can't work out how to get the integer value.
I have some subs that I use that I could make more universal if I could have a ComboBox variable so to speak. Me.ComboBoxCMFrac.SelectionStart = Me.ComboBoxCMFrac.Text.Length
For the above code is there a way to enter a variable that could be set to whatever ComboBox you wanted. I tried Dim ObjectComboBox As Object ObjectComboBox = ComboBoxCMFrac ObjectComboBox.SelectionStart = ObjectComboBox.text.length
It doesn't accept that in the editor but I'm showing you what I would like to do. If there's no way to do it fine but if there is a way I'd like to know how.
how can i replace the enter key event present in an ASP variable with a white space i tried a lot but bad luck...Actually there is no character like vbCrlf or <br> in the string actually I am getting ...it is an enter key event present in the string taken from a textarea ..... My attacks on this issue:
Say that i have the following code that parse about 20k records from the DB.
Code #1
vb.net While reader.Read() list.Add(If(Integer.TryParse(reader(0).ToString, 0), Integer.Parse(reader(0).ToString), 0)) End While
And then another code which does the very same thing but it seems to be a little cleaner.
Code #2
vb.net While reader.Read() Dim storeowner As Integer = 0 Integer.TryParse(reader(0).ToString, storeowner) list.Add(storeowner) End While
This is what i am confused about; does the compiler creates a new variable automatically when i use the if statement without strictly declared variable? What approach is better in sense of performance?

2. If TAB key is pressed in txt1.text (zip code as string); validate zip code against a list in a combo box cboZip (string value). If it exists then tab over to txt2.txt. If not then stay in txt1.text

I started learning vb 2010 over the internet for about an a week and got stuck on this assignment that I got from the internet
1.Add one textbox so the user can enter a distance measured in feet. Add labels as needed.
2.Add a button control which when clicked is converts the feet to meters (1 foot = 0.3048 meters), accepting floating point values and preserving them (no integer conversions) and display the output as shown next. 1 Points
3.Display the conversion result using a MessageBox (not msgbox) using this format: x feet is y meters, where x is the value entered and y is the result of the conversion to meters with up to 2 decimal places only. Then show an extra line of "Would you like to start another distance conversion?" and make the No button the default in the message popup and display the question icon.
4. If the user chooses Yes, cleanup the controls as in the Reset button. 0.5 Point
5.If the user clicks no, ask in another MessageBox if the user wants to quit.
6.If the user chooses to quit, close the window, otherwise no action is required.
I have to create an application that lets a user enter as much grades he wants. The grades are between 0 and 100 and they can't be negative. Whenever the user type -1, the application is done and it shows the average of the grades, the lowest and the highest grades.I absolutly have no idea where to start but i must be using loop/do/while.
I am trying to learn how I can enter data into a Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 TextBox on a form and when I Tab to the next TextBox, the data from the first TextBox is automatically appended to a Microsoft Access 2007 table. For this question, no other controls or objects are necessary.
If a string variable contains the name of an integer variable how do I then use the contents of the integer variable.i.e.I have a string variable called 'Rowname' which will contain the name of an integer variable.The integer variables will have been previously defined with values such as RowA = 0, RowB = 5, RowC = 10..I now want to add together the contents of the variable defined in 'RowName' with a the contents of an integer variable ColumnNumber.
I have a web browser project and the address bar doubles as a search bar (like google chrome). I need to detect if a user Ctrl/Alt + Clicks/Presses enter so it can specifically search or navigate. Any ideas?
I have to create a form that I enter the price of gas each month over a year. I enter the price in a text box and click the enter button to send the price to a list box immediatley and use an array. I have the following code but I don't think it's working with the array correctly as it will let me enter the information but doesn't stop letting me enter after the 12 prices. I am really having a hard time trying to figure out how to set up this input for an array and make it all work.
i want to create a program that pressing a button will increment an integer variable and a textbox will show the result. Te code i wrote is below:
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click dim i as integer i = i+1 textbox1.text = i End Sub
now, the same code works for the vb6 form but on vb 2010 the textbox just show 1 and does not increment any further.
I am getting the error:"Range variable 'sender' hides a variable in an enclosing block or a range variable previously defined in the query expression."for this

So I have an arraylist with some strings in it in one private sub. But I would like to use this same arraylist in a different private sub also. How could I accomplish this?
I tried changing the subs to public but still got the "is not declared" error. And I tried switching the arraylist's dim with public only to get another error.
