I have picturebox that the user can import an image, and then save it to the datatable. I can save it with no problem, and the image, which is a logo, will populate onto my crystal reports pages. My issue, is that I want the logo to automatically load into the picturebox when the user opens my settings form. How can I do the opposite of the following:
'set the company datatable for sub Dim borrowersrow As PlannerFilesDataSet.CompanytableRow 'use only the first row
I have tried a few different libraries and had no luck at all was wondering if anyone has ever gotten .tga to save with vb.net 2010 if so could you please help me out with this.
I think I am almost there but can't find the final piece of the puzzle. The code all works fine if I dont include an image as part of the save but need help with setting the correct parameter for the image.
My current situation: I have a scrollable picturebox (achieved using panel + picturebox). On top of the image inside the picturebox I've added labels on different locations(the labels are added on run-time using PictureBox1.Controls.Add etc). I want to save the contents as well as the image inside the picturebox.
I am "weeks new" to visual basic 2008 but I was hoping that someone might tell me how I can open an image in whatever type of "visible" graphics window (always positioned at: x=0 y=0); move to some "definable position" of interest x=(n) y=(n); change the brightness of that "individual pixel" by some "definable means of measure" from its original state; and save the new image as a separate image file?
I hoping to find a current and simple way to do this. I'm using VWD Express 2008 and SQL Express 2008.I'm able to get the client's path to the image file using an asp:FileUpload control on the web form.
How do I upload the client's image file and display it in the web form's image control? How do I save it to the sqlserver? The image table is already set up with a "Image" data type column. Can the image be saved to the database as simply as other data types?
I try to add text strings to an image but keep the metadata of the original image. The problem is How can I save ImgMetaData (from the original image) to the new image?
Here are the codes:
Public ImgMetaData As BitmapMetadata Public myImageCodecInfo As ImageCodecInfo Public myEncoder As Encoder

I'm a VB beginner.I've been playing with Graphics.DrawString by watermarking a picture with a text string. The picture below to the left comes from PictureBox with a text string drawn with Graphics.DrawString. The font style used is Arial 48 points, regular, I think. The picture in PictureBox shows just as I configure. Great... The resolution of the original Terri Hatcher picture is 300 dpi (300 x 300). Exporting this picture with Graphics.DrawString, I get the picture below to the right. The text string appears a lot bigger than previously shown in PictureBox. It turns out that the text size varies, depending on the resolution of the original picture. That's kind of odd. I develop several graphics applications in a different environment and have never seen this sort of graphics.drawstring thing. Anyway, my sample application seems to draw a text string at an image resolution of
I am trying to edit an image. I can open the image with Picturebox1.load(mypicture)
I can change the pixels/edit the picture by Dim img as new bitmap(picturebox1.image)
[Code]...
now here is the weird part. When I save the image the filesize INCREASES..but the picture dimensions are the same Example... TEST.PNG 1.3KB, when opened up via picturebox/saved the image is now 2.3KB
not sure why...i even though I specify system.drawing.imaging.imageformat.PNG
samething with JPG... it actually SHRINKS it evenmore.. example 88KB jpeg.. saved as jpeg is now 47.7KB...
I have to burn the program I made but I'm afraid about the directories I include in the program.
PictureBox1.Image = Image.FromFile("C:\Documents and Settings\Marvin\My Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Images\Edsger Wybe Dijkstra.jpg")
If I burn it to a Disc, the image will not show up.Even I put them in one folder, It will not work still. How am I suppose to burn it on a disc without having any problem?
I need to check if the CD drive has a disc inserted, no matter the disc is blank or full.
I tried to get the IO.DriveInfo.IsReady, but a blank disc also return False. Then I tried to get the TotalSize, if there is no disc, it returns an exception tells drive is not ready, and if the disc is blank, it returns function error. How can I determine which error is responsible to the one which no disc is inserted? I should not check the error msg because it will change on different computer of different language.
My cousin and I were discussing the difference between Java and VB.Net and I thought I would make a simple application to show him.
My form has two labels a numerical up and down component and a button.
I want to set it so when my cousin presses the button it will open and close his disk tray for the amount of time he chose using the numerical up and down.
I have tried making the program using a sample I have acquired but ti keeps throwing this error.
This is the error.

I'm developing an application that will take the data from a cd. This cd stores a .csv file. Can VB read this data from the disc and upload it to a database? Im not sure exactly where to start looking. Can someone point me in the right direction, as to what compnents i should be looking at.
Am a 1st year student of IT Management, i have been trying to install VB 2005 and/or the VB 2008 Express from msdn and also from disc given to me from college but it wouldnt download coming up with an "Error 1935". what does this mean?
I have ashort (1.3MB) video clip set up with the Build Actiontent, and Copy to Output Directory as Copy Always.I am displaying the clip using mciSendString calls, which is working fine. However, I have been asked to change the delivery method so that the video file needs the Build Action to be set to EmbeddedResource and Copy to Output Directory as Do Not Copy , so I need to find a way to write the file to disc on demand so I can play it, then delete it when the form closes.
Does anyone know of a way to create a demo disc (CD) of a Visual Basic ClickOnce application? I used to be able to download the exe file and run it. I'd like to show my work via a disc rather than create a file to install on a users' computer.
I'm making a front end to dvdauthor.I have a picturebox which holds the menu background. In order to draw a textbutton on the background image I store the image in a hidden picturebox. So the text doesn't get drawn to the visible background.
Dim ctl As Control For Each c As Control In pbMenu1.Controls If c.GetType() Is GetType(TextBtn) Then[code]...
This works the first time. But if I hit save again it writes the text to the background image on pbMenu1.

I'm creating a program and i want it to secretly save when the user clicks on save.
In other words, i have made it so that it saves twice. Once for the user to read (like a fancy copy) and another that the program uses to open up the form.
Currently when pushed, 2 save dialog boxes come up after each other. I don't want this to happen. I want 1 to come up (the user friendly, fancy version) which is the easy part, but i also want the other 1 to save automatically and secretly without asking the user to set the destination.
