I have an email account that receives various requests to get free materials, for different items. These emails will usually contain name, item, quantity of item, address, state, zip. What makes it difficult is that all the emails are different, unstructured, and the data is usually buried in the emails, i.e. a forwarded email.I want a way to get all the information and parse it into a ms sql database.I know there are products that would work really well like url... but at work we can't afford this.I was thinking of creating a webservice that would input mail data posted from a third party site like cloudmail.com into a secondary website and then maybe creating a ruby script that would crawl the messages and extract addresses, etc. Anyone know of a good, simple alternative, a custom script in ruby, php, vb.net or possibly an open source solution?

I had been doing a split function after the ":" but, that doesn't turn out so good once you add in file paths. I have turned to trying to grab the first ":" from the left using the "InStr" function which returns the char integer. I need a way to grab all the information on that line after the first ":".
The program is currently trying to pull information from three different database tables and compiling the information onto one screen, to do this i am using three different connections and a function to handle the data at each stage. The issue is as my code hits PageLoadStage of "2" and runs the QueryDatabase() Function i am encountering an error of: "OleDB exception unhandled: No value given for one or more of the required parameters." This occurs on line 15 of the first code snippet. Can anyone explain this and/or identify any code issues if that is the cause.

I have a win form with three textboxes that lets the user input information using VB.net 2008. I am wanting the program to send me the information entered (when they hit the send button) as an email and also drop the information entered into an access database.I have the program sending the textbox information as an email. What I am having trouble with is saving the three textboxes to access database. I have an access database set up with a table and three fields for the three textboxes.
All I need to do is each time a user uses the program, it adds the information they enter into the three textboxes to the three different fields in the database. I don't need to let the user view or edit the database in any way.

I'm writing a program that needs to parse data from a SQLite Database, I have the reference DLL but I do not know the proper syntax for the actual parsing of the file. The reference I have is located at [URL]..I don't really see any code that would need to be given seeing as the code for that class is currently something link:
Imports System.data.SQLite public class SQLite public sub Retrieve_Data end sub public sub Connect2SQLite end sub end class
I have a directory full of .txt comma delimited files arranged as shown below. What I want to do is to import each of these into a SQL or SQLite database, appending each one below the last. (1 table)... I am open to C# or VB scripting and just not sure how to accomplish this. I want to only extract and import the data starting BELOW the 'Feat. Type,Feat. Name, etc' line.
These are stored in a mynetworkdirectorystats folder on my network drive. Ideally I will be able to add functionality that will make the software/script know not to re-add the file to the database once it has already done so as well.
I need to parse a file name and compare to names in a data base. The file name has an underscore "_" as the delimiter. I need everything before the underscore.
I have run into this problem a few times and have never come up with a good answer. I figure others must have dealt with this already.I have a datareader returned from the database and I want to use the values therein however values may or may not contain NULL. I would like to have a unction that takes in the value from the datareader and returns the value if it is not NULL and blank space if it is NULL.The problem I have is that the data-type of the variable I am testing is variable. It can be a String, and Integer or a DateTime. Can anyone suggest a simple way to test the value and then return the original value (as same data-type if possible) or something else if it is NULL
Are there any good books out there that will show someone how to set up a form using Visual basic that will take information and send it to the server and then send a recipient an Email?
I just want to parse simple expressions like IIF(FVAL(PFC) = TRUE, (IIF((ORGVAL(BAS, "2012/12/31") + ORGVAL(DA)) < 6500, (FVAL(BAS) + FVAL(DA)) * 12%, 780)), 0)`After parsing this I should be able to know what functions contains what parameters.
[Code]...
I'm stuck with .Net Framework 2.0, so no Linq or lambda expression goodies for me. Also I want to include the code in my custom library and not just reference it. Can anyone point me to some good library or code.
I just need to parse and not evaluate the expression and find what tokens are in use. After finding the tokens I need to change the expression string before parsing, like if the function ORGVAL is used then the parameter passed has has to be prefixed by an underscore. Like ORGVAL(BAS) will transform to ORGVAL(_BAS). Some functions can have tow parameters like ORGVAL(BAS, "2012/12/31") and this will transform to ORGVAL(_BAS, "2012/12/31")
NOTE: IF THERE ARE OTHER WAYS OF DOING IT PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I WOULD LOVE TO AVOID A PARSER AND LEXER.
I am trying to get an Email and password from a database and use them as a log in (not acces database) i tryed rdr = mycommand.ExcuteReader but that dosent work [code]...

I ave a contact form (VS 2010 / VB / .net4), and when the client fills out the form, I get an email -- which I like, but..For instance, here's an e-mail I got:[code]This is just a lead-generating company, so we're gonna get a lot of emails and we're gonna want them organized. It was suggested by Jon P that I use a database to gather all these emails I'm getting, instead of MS Excel (which I wouldn't know how to do anyway). So I downloaded SQL Server Express. So now what do I do? Can someone please tell me what I have to add to the code, specifically, or what I have to do, so I can gather these emails in an organized manner? [code]
I'm trying to insert information from a form to an Access database. I get the error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. It points the line: dsWHNewRow = WHds.Tables("WeightHeight").NewRow() in the btnAdd_Click Sub. I'm sure I'm missing something but don't know what to look for.
Public Class WeightHeightPopup Dim WHcon As New OleDb.OleDbConnection Dim dbWHProvider As String[code].......
I have a database with about 10 records - each with their own ID. I'm trying to add a new record, and to do this I decided to have a text box on my application form show what the next ID will be. Here's the code I am using:
Private Sub btnAdd_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnAdd.Click 'get EmployeeID from the textbox: Dim intEmployeeID As Int16 = Val(txtEmployeeID.Text) + 1 'store the emlpoyee
[code]....
The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they would create duplicate values in the index, primary key, or relationship. Change the data in the field or fields that contain duplicate data, remove the index, or redefine the index to permit duplicate entries and try again. How would I go about finding the maximum ID in the database and then adding 1 to it so I can display it in the text box?
does anyone know how to make it that when you type something in to a text box the click a button called add to then have what you typed in added to a checked list box and then have it that when you click another button called add that the information in the checked list box which has been checked is then added to a database.would it be better to make th information entered in to the text box be saved to a text document and then have the checked box get its information from the text file if so does any one know how to do that.
I am working on login and registration page in vb express 2010. I have connected access 2007 database with my project and when I register as a user, it stores information to the database successfully and I can log in with that id as well. But when I close that project and reopen it, the same exact id won't work and the information in the database disappears.
