OLEDB Connection - Pull Information From Three Different Database Tables And Compiling The Information Onto One Screen
Jun 9, 2011The program is currently trying to pull information from three different database tables and compiling the information onto one screen, to do this i am using three different connections and a function to handle the data at each stage. The issue is as my code hits PageLoadStage of "2" and runs the QueryDatabase() Function i am encountering an error of: "OleDB exception unhandled: No value given for one or more of the required parameters." This occurs on line 15 of the first code snippet. Can anyone explain this and/or identify any code issues if that is the cause.

Mar 24, 2012I have a database with about 10 records - each with their own ID. I'm trying to add a new record, and to do this I decided to have a text box on my application form show what the next ID will be. Here's the code I am using:

The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they would create duplicate values in the index, primary key, or relationship. Change the data in the field or fields that contain duplicate data, remove the index, or redefine the index to permit duplicate entries and try again.How would I go about finding the maximum ID in the database and then adding 1 to it so I can display it in the text box?

Apr 27, 2010does anyone know how to make it that when you type something in to a text box the click a button called add to then have what you typed in added to a checked list box and then have it that when you click another button called add that the information in the checked list box which has been checked is then added to a database.would it be better to make th information entered in to the text box be saved to a text document and then have the checked box get its information from the text file if so does any one know how to do that.

I would like the page to auto retrieve the information he or she originally used while registering on my site and display them into the individual textboxes of the update profile page, this is to prevent the hassle to rekey in every individual details and allow the user to edit what he or she wants before it is updated into the database. Way To Parse Information From Email To Database
Nov 15, 2011I have an email account that receives various requests to get free materials, for different items. These emails will usually contain name, item, quantity of item, address, state, zip. What makes it difficult is that all the emails are different, unstructured, and the data is usually buried in the emails, i.e. a forwarded email.I want a way to get all the information and parse it into a ms sql database.I know there are products that would work really well like url... but at work we can't afford this.I was thinking of creating a webservice that would input mail data posted from a third party site like cloudmail.com into a secondary website and then maybe creating a ruby script that would crawl the messages and extract addresses, etc. Anyone know of a good, simple alternative, a custom script in ruby, php, vb.net or possibly an open source solution?

I have a sql 2000 database and a vb.net app. Right now the SQL username and password to connect to the database is stored in the VB application which is not convenient since we must change the password periodically. The user opens the app and enters the username and password for the vb application. Using the credentials stored in the application to connect to the sql server, the app checks the username and password stored in a user table in the database to determine if they are allowed to connect or not. For various reasons, it is not feasible to simply have the application username and password be the same as the database username and password. We must have only one database username and password and it must be changeable. Like I said, it is now stored in the compiled application which is inconvenient.

Retrieves Item Information From A SQL Express Database?
Apr 5, 2012Two questions:
1) I have a stored procedure that retrieves item information from a SQL Express database. Should I attempt to do the rounding the stored proc or client side in the app?
2) My rounding needs to be custom. I have a figure that goes down to the 4 place meaing x.0000 if the 3rd digit is 4 or more then I would round up to the nearest cent x.00 if it is 3 and below I would round down. I have looked at the math functions in vb.net and I dont see right out the gate how to accomplish this.
So my question is should rounding be done in SQL or client side and if it is client side do any of you have pointers on how to slice and dice this?
