Welcome Message To Display On Every Page Using Session?

Using a session variable in my VB.net site has been figured out just fine. I just need to get my welcome message to stay put on every page. I put the code and text box in my master page to allow the message to stay there, but my label with the user's name disappears when I click on a different page.
The session is still there because I have it set up to display the textbox to enter your code if the session is destroyed or not available for some reason.
my code is not allowing the First_Name and Last_Name of the user's session to show up? The problem is in the Page_Load but I thought I would throw in the whole master.vb file to show everything I have so far.

I have added Two Factor Authentication to my Mobile ASP.Net Web App. When the user successfully enters their User Name and Password then a pin number is emailed to their email address which is stored in the database. The issue I am having is that after notifying the user that they don't have an email defined and then reload the login page but my code isn't notifying the user rather it is just reloading the Login.aspx page:
I have a aspx page with several input fields(couple of int's and strings) and 3rd party gridview. Data is validated, and stored procedure is called from code behind to save data in DB. Gridview has capability to display error box to user which can be called from code behind. So when I catch exception I give it my error message(error message is something like:"Data can't be saved to database. Error:" & ex.message and call function that displays errorbox.
i am new to this. i have 4 pages. login.aspx, account.aspx, settings.aspx and fliers.aspx. its all programmed in vb.net with sql server backend.on my firstr page, login.aspx i have this code in the .vb page -

I know it's possible in asp.net to create a custom error page in a web app, by putting the following line in the web.config: <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="frmErrorPage.aspx" />
I have had to do this for my web app, since it is clearly much tidier than letting the program bomb out with it's ugly default error page. My custom error page just has the customer's logo and a brief message saying "Error has occurred. Please return to homepage"The trouble now is that I have no way of knowing what caused the error, when a customer reports it.
Is there a way to make the actual error message appear on this custom error page too?
I am using ASP.NET. It is possible to create a session variable on page load just for a particular page/url? The problem that I have is: The user comes to page 1 and the session variable becomes A, then he opens page 2 in a new tab and the session variable because B on both page 1 and page 2. So when the user needs the session variable on page 1 it does not work because the variable have changed!

I'm planning to use some session variables on an intranet ASP/VB.NET page, and want to make sure that I'm not missing out on anything important I should know, or that I have my information mixed up. So here's what I (think) I know about session variables.They:are stored on the server, so if I have a lot of users then they'll each be using some more memory which could lead to a slowdown.are inaccessible by the user unless I expose access. hang around/persist across user requests (i.e. each time the user makes a request from the page the data will still be there - until it times out). This also means that I need to make sure that the variable doens't have "left over" data in it.
Is there anything that I've got totally wrong, or anything I'm missing? I'd prefer not to get bitten by a bug down the road because I think I understand what's going on.
If my sessions time out I want to re-direct the page to another URL: Say the home page. On my page I make use of a GridView that uses Session variables. If the session variable time expire(currently at 60min) and the user click on a row in the GridView I want to re-direct him/her to the home page of my site.
I have 2 web pages. I have a gridview and use a session to pass the variables from the page to an edit page. This works perfectly, until you search for a number. When you search the correct record displays in gridview, but when you click edit, it passes the wrong record.

I have an MVC application which sets some session variables based on internal static IP addresses.I have built an ApplicationController to override the OnActionExecuted sub in MVC for data that I need to use throughout my application.However, the code below, which is just a snippet of my code but is edited for my post, only partially works. On initial page load, the session variables aren't saved, but after a page refresh they are. The issue I have is that these need to be saved on the initial page load.

Theoretically, if I'm correct, if there is no Session("Item1") set/if Session("Item1") is empty, then the rest of the snippet should run and set those variables.How come this isn't setting those variables on the first time the page load?

When in the code to add the row the row count increments and the row exists. Once out of that scope the page refreshes due to the button being contained in an updatePanel. When that happens and I click the add button again the row counts for that item reset to 0 and 1 after the code runs. The previous added row is gone.Here is how the Dataset is assigned from the web service:

I am storing an array of a custom serializable class in session on my site. When a page on the site changes, suddenly it renders them invalid, and tells me that it can't cast the type to it's own type. I assume the class version numbers are changing or something?!
I'm not trying to redesign this whole process.

I have a problem in timers, I want to display 2 forms each one after 3 and 5, how to do that? I mean when the first form appears, after 3 seconds another one will appear, then after 5 seconds the second will appear. I have a code where someone gave me here but its for message box only, thus I modify it to put a form still does not work. Here the code I put in the timer below:

I still have problem when the message box stops, it displays all the forms together. All I want is when the message box stops, then it display the first form then stop to display the second then stop to display the last. The first form must stay for 3 seconds on the screen, then after 3 seconds the second appears then after 5 seconds the last appears.
I have a VB application. Within this application, I have two "pages". I'm trying to access or change data from one of these pages from the other. So, for example, let's call the pages 'Page 1' and 'Page 2'. Let's say I'm working in 'Page 1' and I want a MessageBox to pop up when you click a button and I want the message box to contain the value of a string from 'Page 2'. How would I do that? I am storing a session variable that a user types into a textbox. With their valid input, their session gets created and they get a little more functionality than the regular end users of the site.I was wondering if it is possible to find a way to add someone's session variable to the end of a URL. This way we can email a link to one of our clients, they click it, and their session has automatically begun. On startup of my software which i developed in vb.net, it connects to mssql server. I want to have session id or session number of the connection with mssql. I'm sure it is unique number and i want to use this session in my software for different purposes. My question is
1. is there anything like session id or session unique number when you connection mssql server
I have a code block that is supposed to display a windows style message box to the user in my asp.net application. The user performs an action on an asp.net page, that page then processes data on another aspx page. The second aspx page is where the message box code is to be displayed.The box is displayed on my local machine, and another developers local machine. But the dev server does not display it. Nothing in the error log either.
