Error In Serial Port Data Capture Program In Visual Studios 2010?
Apr 11, 2012I'm trying to make a rs232 serial data logging program, that accepts a 12 bit hex RFID tagID from an RFID module. My end objective is to save this RFID tagID into a database and assigned to a person for a personnel management system.I had to use button3 to add the value of the variable 'msg' into textbox1 because I was getting the following error "Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'TextBox1' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on". It is a temporary workaround.When I do press button3, I get the incomplete hex number, instead of "4C00A2C82A0C", I get "A2C82A0C", and sometimes I get random digits like 1,A,C etc etc.

Checkbox Tick Generates An Error?
Jul 1, 2010I have three checkboxes on my datagridview namely, Yes, No, Inv. If the value is set to True in the table which populates the datagridview the respective checkbox is checked and if false unchecked.Now, when on runtime I try to check a checkbox on the Yes Column I receive the followinf error;

Jan 29, 2009I have a datgridview with a checkbox that keeps giving me an error. I have checked the data type in SQL(2008) table and I have it set to CHAR(1), NULL = Y, Default value = ('N'). Image attached that shows the error.

Packet Capture And Threading, Capture Library Waits For "thread Stop"
Apr 5, 2009So I am hacking together an app which listens to traffic using SharpPcap library, it reconstructs the packets from sessions using the code from TpcRcon.
Listening and reconstructing part work on their own . What I want is on each packet arrival main window gets an event so it can display the packet , and when session is reconstructed display a complete packet (I am interested in HTTP ones) . -That is where it breaks with weird symptoms: for example right now it does not stop on invoking stop listening method - the sharppcap library function hangs there forever waiting on this line of code : m_pcapThreadEvent.WaitOne();//wait for the 'stopped' signal from thread
I also had it not working and crashing in sharppcap function because I had omitted one parameter in form delegate- which makes no sense, because form delegate does not deal with packet capture at all and only reacts on "New Packet" event from my "Listener" class (which is only there to notify main form)
My app starts as module main instancing class "Listener". MainForm has it
registered as friend with event and handles even "New Packet"

Jun 30, 2009I've got a form with parent-child setup. The parent displays name and other demographic info.The child displays multiple addresses, one row at a time. There can only be one primary address for a name and this is designated by a checkbox at the top of the child form.If the user wants to change the primary address to another address,then they find the other address and click on the checkbox.The form checks the other addresses and if one is found that is designated as primary,the user is warned that one already exists and prompts them to change it.
So for example, a name has 2 addresses, the 2nd being the primary address.The user wants to change the 1st address to be primary.They click on the Primary Address checkbox for the 1st address.A warning displays that there is already an address listed as primary.The user then answers the prompt to change the 1st address to the primary address.The checkbox for the 2nd address will be unchecked and the checkbox will be checked for the 1st address.My problem is getting the checkbox unchecked for the 2nd address.If I close the form and reopen, then the checkbox is unchecked.How do I refresh the checkbox for the 2nd address?Here is the code I'm using to find if an address has already been marked as primary:[code]......

Mar 1, 2010Am using vb.net 2008 and sql2008 and I want to loop thru frmMovement.DataGridView1 and the checked rows shd get populated into frmMovementReceivedFiles.DataGridView2. But I used Cbool, Boolean.TryParse to convert the the checked value but I still get but still the error: "Conversion from string "" to type 'Boolean' is not valid"
