how can i add names surnames from form1 to database and save them and if i need them to call form database but in diferent form2 not in the same form1 example if i put this number "010203 "name "test"years " 12" born on " 1988" and when i need this infos form database to call them back in form2 how can i do this code.
View 7 RepliesIn my application I am using some sort of 'FirstRun Wizard' to make basic settings such as data path, theme settings and other adjustments before the application starts for the first time. I am using the following at Application Start to accomplish that:

Now, my "FirstRun" dialog has a Cancel Button and I want the application to exit entirely if that button is pressed. At first I used Application.Exit() but it looked a bit strange because my Form1 gets shown for a fraction of a second before the application closes. With Form1.Close() I can do the same thing and the advantage is that my form does not show up at all. However, I wonder if this is a save way of doing it?
1) At run-time, i want save form1 as Multi Form(Form1,Form2,Form3..etc) with different data,
2) If click load button then it should show all Forms Name(Form) in the ListBox then when click any Form from ListBox then it should open
I don't know how to move or save text from form1 to form2, text in form1 is in textbox and move or save it to label in form2.

I'm working on a project. It is a windows form app which has a webbrowser. The app navigates to a url automatically, checks the url's document, and jumps to another url (depends on the document). It works fine. But, now, the problem is the project needs check many urls, so, I'm trying to make it as a MDI form project. when the start button clicked, it create a control thread, in the thread, it launchs 10 MDI forms (within main form), each form does the work for different urls. once done, then launch the next 10 urls.
It works. However, I noticed that, although 10 MDI forms are open, the navigating part in their webbrowser seems run in sequencial. I thought these 10 MDI forms will load 10 urls at the same time, do the work at the same time, but I found that it seems they do load urls one by one, not at the same time.so, I did some research, it seems webbrowser can only be run STA mode. does it mean I can not use multithread to load different urls at the same time?basically, I want to have a multi tab webbrowser, and navigate to different urls in these tabs at the same time.

Problem is that my form1 is not getting closed
I have an aboutbox1 and form1..I also have a button. When I click the button it runs the backgroundworker. My background worker then opens form1.My backgroundworker doesnt just open it, it does alot of other stuff so don't ask why im doing it like that.My problem:When the background worker opens form1, form1 is not responding.

I need to be able to start with Form1, move to LoginForm, then back to Form1 taking 2 variables and the "values" they have in the LoginForm back to Form1 and using the variables. I start with the main form (Form1) and have the user enter some information. Once they click OK I have the LoginForm open. After they enter their credentials I will check to make sure they are legal users, then go back to Form1 (here is where I need to take the Username and Password with me) to log onto a server using the same credentails from the login form.

I am using OledDb to create/retrieve/delete data from Access databases. At one point in the solution, I the user adds data to a new table and the table name is defined by the user. The obvious problem with this is that the user could add spaces, characters, and Access/SQL keywords that are not allowed in the table name. Later in the solution, the user should be able to identify their saved table and retrieve it. I have considered the brute force method of formatting the input to remove offending characters and then reformat for the user's view, but that seems like something I would like to avoid. I have also considered placing restrictions on the textbox with masks, key event restrictions, and checks for conflicts with keywords, but I would also like to avoid that. So, my question is, does anyone have a creative solution for identifying a table name with something like 'my name is table number *1'?

View 3 RepliesI'm trying to make a database program in VB 2008 and have come across a problem with a query that I'm not sure how to solve. I have a combo box which contains names of teams that are held within the database, when a team name is selected I have 4 queries that will separate players (in that team) by their position, using this information I will then be able to display information about the players in a collection objects so that it can be edited and what not.
My problem is that I need to be able to refer to the records in the query so that I can assign a players details to objects on the form, I've used a piece of code to do so that I used previously to select individual records from a table, however when I click on a team in the combo box it throws up the error: "Could not format node 'ClientQuery' for execution as SQL.". Not being a particularly experienced VB programmer this error doesn't exactly mean too much to me, although I am not exactly sure of another way to tackle the problem.
The code for this query is:
