Adding Text After Text To Split Strings?

What I would like to do is split it so it shows in a listbox as
document1.txt
document2.txt
document3.txt
I have come up with a solution which may work. Its preety over complicated too me but this is the only way I could think of?
What I need help on is a code so that after every ".txt" it will place a "/" so the string will look like this:
document1.txt/document2.txt/document3.txt/
Then I would use this code to split the string:
Dim I3() As String
I3 = I.Split("/")
For g = 0 To I3.Length - 1
ListBox1.Items.Add(I3(g))

Jan 26, 2012when i add in another checkbox it shares the same info from a radio button, so i toyed with it for literally hours, and figured out how to make another string, so i include my strings in the email body, i put ail.Body = emailmail Body = cod4and now in the email form it only includes the cod4 string? what the heck? so i figured, put the strings on the same line in the same body, but it says i need an end statement, so how to i seperate the strings to make them seperate in the body?the mail.body parts are in alignment in the application, i accidentally moved the bottom one over when i posted it, so pretend they are one under the other, then answer

Aug 19, 2009I have a function where I have to add two values (declared as string) on two different pages, So Iam bringing one value from one page to the second page where I have second value and adding both of them to display the result in a label. But I am not able to do that. eg: 1st value is 4.20 ( both values are time in seconds) and 2nd value is 0.34 then I want the result as 4.54( instead I am gettign the result as 4.24.0.34 , So can anyone tell me how to add these two ..My code is attached.

Adding Decimal Points To Strings?
Jun 15, 2011I am working on a program where specific strings are being read from a file and displayed in a listview. Some of the strings represent money values though the file has no decimal points. I would like to add a decimal point before the last 2 digits of prices, quantities, and freights when displayed in the listview (not add two decimal places but actually insert the decimal point into the string). I would like to be able to keep most of the code I already have though, and I have no clue how to accomplish this. Here is the code I am using to fill the listview:

Jan 6, 2012I can retreive all items in my notepad but when I am adding them up in my listbox, and trying to print them in the console. I can only display two strings. I don't know why. My string is a combination of a name, space & score. ex: "luke 300". That is the pattern of all strings per line in my text file. I am separating the name and the score using space as the indicator. When ever a space is found, string before and after the space is retrieved and added to the listbox

In a text box 1, the user enters 2 or more strings separated by comma. then in text box 2, the user enter 1 or more strings separated by comma. The output then puts the strings from text box 2 between the strings in text box 1

Mar 19, 2012I'm trying to include a few text files in my project. These files are read and used to make decisions in the program. Ordinarily, I would just set the file path and open the file via StreamReader, no problem. However, this application now needs to work on other computers and I want to include the text files in the application directory. I've researched two ways to do this:
1) Include the files as resources and reference them via my.resources.
I've gotten this to work ok, except the files are opened as strings upon starting the application. They are fairly large files, which I imagine is taking a lot of unnecessary memory. Also, StreamReader wont work with these files as resources,
or at least I can't figure out how to. My application is already based around using StreamReader so I don't really want to change this.
2) Include the files as additional items. I know how to do this too, but I can't reference the files programmatically.
Can I use a resource text file via StreamReader or how would I reference the files if they're included in my project directory?
IO.File.ReadAllLines - Text Lines Include ANSI Characters
Feb 15, 2012I'm using IO.File.ReadAllLines(FileName) to read all lines from text file to array of strings at once. Problem is, text lines include ANSI characters above ASCII value 127 (Scandinavian letters e.g. "Ä" (Ascii 196), "ö" (Ascii 246) and "é" (Ascii 233). Array is build up nicely, but all chars above ascii value 127 are not shown right. How can I use ANSI character set with .ReadAllLines to correct this problem? In VB6 with "Open Filename For Input As #1 / Line Input #1, txtLine" there wasn't any problem.

May 11, 2009When I publish my program I get no errors, and then when I install it on another machine it says it gives me the error that it can't read the txt file that it stores data in. If I hit continue it also fails to read the database. The database file is stored in the bin/debug folder and I told my program to include it when I first added the data connection. Anything I can do to have these included so my program can run on other machines?

Apr 24, 2011For a class project I am thinking of doing a Spelling Bee game. I would like to have a button that will place the word in a sentence, and a button that will give the definition. Are there .txt dictionaries out there with this information? I've checked a few places like WordNet but I didn't see a dictionary that also includes sentence info. My other concern is using custom classes. I don't have a lot of experience creating classes, and I really want to become more familiar with them, so it is important that I integrate them into this project. What would be a logical way using classes in this project? Maybe a 'word' class?

Nov 4, 2011how I can select the text in a textbox/richtextbox that is between two designated strings? Like, for instance, lets say "<b>" is the first string, and "</b>" is the second. The text entered in the textbox is "<b>hello world!</b>". How would I get it to programmatically select the "hello world"?
Also, I would like to know of a way to select the text between the two strings and the strings themselves, so that, inputting "Hello <b>world! I'm</b> awesome!", "<b>world! I'm</b>" would be selected.

Sep 28, 2011I guess my question has two parts:
1. My program has to read text out of a text file. I use some HTML tags to preserve the formatting. For example, I might have the line "this is a <b> line </b> of <b> text </b>" where "line" and "text" are bold. How do I make it so the string prints to a RichtextBox, but only "line" and "text" are bold? I would use a RichTextbox.SaveFile method, but the program works by reading a group of richtextboxes in a flowlayoutpanel and appending them to a single text file.
2. How would I extract the text from between two strings? For instance, I have created special tags for use in my program. These tags tell the program where to add controls. Say my string was:
"[IMG= "dog.jpg" /] this is a picture of a dog. [IMG= "cat.jpg"] this is a picture of a cat."
For each occurrence of the string "[IMG=", I would need it to find the corresponding "/]" and extract the text between the two. I could maybe do something with a substring function. I don't know.
Control For Multiple Text Strings?
May 11, 2009I am looking for a control to load text strings into. I want to be able to use different font sizes and perhaps font styles for each text string. I also want to be able to select each text string. I am using a rich text box to obtain the formatting I need but I don't know how to set this up so that I can select each test string independantly. Alternatively I coulg put them into a DataGridView and get rid of the lines but this would look to structured as the cell width is contant for each cell in the DataGridView.

I want to read the whole file, and split the colums so each set of numbers is put into an array to be used as an input for later. If the text file only contains one line of numbers like 00100 25690 21586, I have written a code to seperate those and put them into an array which is attached. If the text file contains more than one row of numbers I can read the whole file in line by line but I can't get the strings seperated.

With the current Regex I am able to grab the value but it also grabs all the "src" elements on the page.
